Hooleys Public House, El Cajon CA

We only had one disappointment and that was the bar drinks were small and in plastic cups! It was a crowd pleaser had a good band and we also had a man playing the bagpipes! So very cool for an early New Year's celebration food was amazing!

My friends love coming here and we come often for dinner.
This was never my choice of restaurant because of their limited vegetarian choices. However, last time, I did find a good combo - the zucchini tacos with some sweet potatoes on the side. It's an alright alternative for me. Because we will continue returning and the place does have a really neat atmosphere, good drinks and really friendly staff.

One of the oldest bars in the area. Best place for food and drinks. Specially for the Irish New Years

Nice public house. Fish and chips are definitely something that should be tried if you come here even once. I prefer the tots over the fries and they definitely give you a pile of tots. Been here twice with friends and the atmosphere is half Pub half restaurant. Be prepared for some noise as the atmosphere is Lively. We will be back.

We had a couple drinks and shared a burger before seeing a movie next door. Staff were all very nice, burger was very good and there are a lot of craft beers on tap. I'd go back

Hubby and I shared a Ruben Sandwich with fries and a small salad. Was delicious. The sandwich was large, good thing we shared! Will definitely have that again!

Came to see Tony Cummins play his traditional Irish songs. Introduced my wife to some Irish foods in the process. Enjoyed some Guinness. Place was clean, and decorated to seem much older then it is, which is great. Newer Irish bar done right.

Fun neighborhood bar and restaurant. Despite the oddity of tacos at an Irish pub, we ordered the calamari tacos to split. They were delicious and the calamari was thick, tender, and perfectly cooked. Beer specials for happy hour were the perfect accompaniment. Service is friendly, attentive, and gracious. We'll be back!

This place is great. I love the ambiance. The weight staff is on point.they never let my Dr Pepper go dry.

Casual dining, Irish pub-like. Not unduly expensive. Been going there for 20 years. Wife likes the turkey burger & like the corned beef sandwiches. Good beer selection. Favorite is. Boddington (English)

Friendly, attentive service. Staff were very accommodating and helpful with our order. Our meals were warm and served precisely as ordered. Nice place to have dinner or just drinks.

Parking is easy with plenty of spaces close to the entrance. Well lit parking lot too for evening visits.

Waited a while but it was St. Pattys Day. Good beer and food! Fun Irish music. Good service! Wish they had more outdoor seating.

Chill comfortable Irish spot with cool memorabilia, not a hole-in-the-wall but not upscale, Dublin pot skins are delish, great draft beer choice, great service every time

I couldn’t see that my last review posted so I’ll post again with the short version. The food was great, the atmosphere was great, and the service was great. Shout out to Dillon (sp) and the service staff he worked with. Y’all made the experience awesome.

We got led to the back of the restaurant where we were seated. About 20minutes later I had to flag down the host to ask if we could order our food. Shortly after our waitress came by and took our order. I think she checked on us once while eating and the family next to us had to ask for water twice from a man carrying dishes. We finished our food and walked to the front of the restaurant to pay for our meal. I really love hooleys and hope that can do better in the future. Id go to the LA mesa location.

Great Irish food. The Sheppard's Pie is one of a kind. $5 drafts during happy hour. Good atmosphere and friendly servers.

Patrick was very cool! He added to the experience which was already great. The food was delicious, warm, and came in good portions. There was a nice fire as soon as you walk in and the bar is separate from the restaurant seating.

Good food, friendly staff. Obvious that thus us a local pub in the truest sense of the meaning. Staff greeted my patrons by first name and the patrons seemed to know each other.
