Enjoyed my stay! Very historic. Staff was amazing! View was fabulous! A lot the presidents stayed here. Found out my dad is a direct decent of Mary Ball Washington, President George Washingtons mother! I love history and old things and people! The stories here bring the energy to life!

Stayed here for two nights over the 4th of July weekend. It was busy but good to see things back to normal again. We arrived early and they let us park in the parking lot early which was nice. For hilton gold members, They give you a $15 ($30 total) credit for up to two guests per day for dining instead of the free continental breakfast. This would be cool except that $15 per person person wont get you an entrée at sheer water. I know this is hiltons dicision to the changes but it would be nice if the hotel offered a breakfast offering with coffee or juice that costs $15 just gold and diamond members. You can however walk to Panerai or Starbucks to get breakfast if you want. The rooms we stayed at the views were just remodeled and were beautiful. The first floor developmental rooms had a small patio with two rocking chairs. Diffintly recommend rooms in this building on the first floor. There is a lot of construction so some rooms are better than others. Overall I would come back. It is a good use of your hilton Amex free night certificate.

Defiantly haunted, bathtub wouldn’t drain down after even after I tried to let the water go down, it was like someone was stopping it with their hand SUPER CREEPY. Although I made sure to turn the air off it became extremely cold in the middle of the night. I mean COLD bone chilling. I woke up to a couple arguing in French, up and down the hall yelling. Once I took an Uber out of the hotel The driver the next day mentioned of a murder there that I guess haunts the exact floor I was on. Other then that it’s a beautiful place but I won’t go back! Tooooo creeppyyyy

This hotel is completely over-rated and overpriced. For one, it is overrun by people not even staying in the hotel which means your $700/night+ room charge buys you nothing but a bed. Towels at the pool and the beach were never available, most people round the pool that we spoke to were not even hotel guests and everything was an exorbitant up charge. Furthermore, the rooms were sub-par and the water in our bathroom was barely a trickle. Avoid if you want peace and quiet as it’s literally one bus load of people after another.

Took over 45 minutes to get checked in. Still waiting actually. Haven’t even been addressed yet. She’s still helping other customers and just one of her. Or maybe just a first time worker. Worst way ever to start a romantic night.please just let me go to sleep I’ve been traveling all day. Omg please help. I’ve LITERALLY ordered a pizza and it arrived. At what point do I get the next day rate

Horrendous experience at this hotel. As a family of 3 with a minor, we always call hotels in advance and ask if they have available connecting rooms. We talked to one of the staff at the reception on the phone, and said that they had a connecting room available and was reserved for us the following day that we would come to the hotel. We only come to hotels that 100 percent say they have a connecting room available and reserve it for us, if there was a chance it would not be available, we would not get it. The following day we arrived at the hotel and first of all there was a line for the lobby, taking us 30 minutes to get to the front desk. Finally arriving, one of the receptionists said that there are no rooms available, and we said that we reserved one from yesterday. The lady then went on to roll her eyes and make very rude remarks to her customers who PAY for the hotel and expect great customer service. The other receptionist (who had her own customers) threatened to call security on us. Ok? Like I'm sorry but who put you in this discussion. Anyways, first lady went to get the manager, who came out in a rush and explained that we " made her staff worker upset. " She said that there are no other rooms and she can't do anything, then going on to say that she is the manager when there was indeed, someone higher up (she lied). She gave us a room that was not connecting, forcing us to complain once more that we actually reserved a room so where is it. She gave us another room, saying it actually connects. Guess what? It didn't. Finally, we got the bridal suite at 1030 pm. Which when we entered, had the cleaning ladies in it not having the room ready. They attempted to charge us for all the rooms, which of course was not going to work. The breakfast took 40 minutes until we were let in, and then the next higher up manager called us saying that they have already done enough for us. In addition, the day we checked in we say 2 other families leaving the check-in saying "this is the worst hotel I've been to" becuase they also had problems with the staff. Bottom line, VERY INCONVENIENT HOTEL WITH STAFF THAT DOES THE BARE MINIMUM TO HELP YOU.

I didn't stay here, but we came for the beach, ice cream, and architecture. We had a great day searching for shells and crabs, building castles and observing the work of others, and taking in the shimmering gold sand. The tree in the front is breathtaking. Loved the caged lifts and the shops below.

This is a great historic hotel. Very elegant, old school. From the days when people made buildings with character. Even if you don’t stay at the hotel sit on the outside balcony and enjoy some food or a drink: watch, hear and smell the ocean

This is one of the finest places in San Diego. Top knotch service from the curb to your poolside lounge. In winter/holiday seasons, they put on a small ice ring. A bit pricey, but a lot of fun in an upscale setting.

The atmosphere here is wonderful. I love that it's not ugly and "modern". It's great to be able to take a short walk to the beach. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are well kept as are the grounds. I will definitely be back!

This place is amazing. Super unique property with a rich history, great staff and service. The food is off the hook! A little spooky around Halloween too. Perfect!

Location is beautiful, within walking distance of many shops and restaurants with the beach only a few steps away. Rooms are clean, employees courteous.

Breathtaking in size, beautifully kept up, right on the beach, and it has lots of awesome history. I recommend a visit here even if you don't stay.

Skylar took great care of us. He was very personable and great to talk to. The food was good, we had pizza. Little smaller than I had anticipated, but the flavor and textures were good. Beautiful dining views of the ocean.

Beautiful location, not too crowded, but food and drink prices are exorbitant. 30 bucks for a boring burger on the sun deck? Come on.
