It was the first hotel I stayed in LA.
I remember hearing that there were paintings on the outer wall of the hotel at that time and that it was famous.
I ate dinner at a nearby steakhouse, but it's a few minutes walk to there, so I don't worry about eating.
Also, if there is a game at a nearby stadium, it is a few minutes walk to get a ticket and go see it, so the location is not bad.
However, because the location is downtown, a rental car is essential for sightseeing.

The staff is very considerate. I was upgraded to a figueroa suite in 2nd floor and the staff checked with several times asking me if I want to stay in a bedroom suite in higher floor since it might be a bit noisy in 2nd floor, you know it's a busy street.

The valet is super fast, I can always get my car within a few minutes!

As a globalist, you also enjoy complimentary breakfast from 7 to 12 at Cafe Fig.

Maybe when it was originally opened back in 1926 it was probably ok, but now in 2023 the rooms are half of size of any standard rooms, besides that there is nothing special about this place, will update if anything changes

We had a very pleasant stay despite some inconveniences. There was confusion in our reservation as we made it through BestDay and it said that it included free nearby parking and that an additional fee included breakfast. Both things were not real. Since the parking has an approximate cost of $49 USD daily and the extra fee of approximately $30 USD does not include breakfast. However, the hotel positively resolved the miscommunication given to us by BestDay. The facilities are very nice. The food isn't very good, but overall it's good.

Comfy beds, great location, really friendly staff, nice decor lobby. However. This room is so awful if you are staying in a group. The bathroom door has GLASS. So if you want to use the bathroom at night, the light shines thru the door and wakes everyone else. And no fan to vent the bathroom. Also I've been in hotels in third world countries that had better AC than this one! Their AC is total garbage, it isn't very cool and *keeps turning off*. I could only sleep like 5 hours last night because it's too hot because their air conditioning won't work properly! I would recommend skipping this hotel and finding somewhere else to stay in DTLA.

Edit: Also the shower had 3 knobs and was rather difficult to figure out. The small middle knob handle turns on the water.

We stayed at Hotel Figueroa for one night for an event at LA LIVE the next day. This was my first time staying at Hotel Figueroa and I was genuinely excited given the hotel’s rich history and promised 4-star amenities.

The one pro I will mention is the proximity to the LA Live venue and historic building charm but that’s where it kinda ends.

There had been ongoing worker’s strike in front of the hotel since Saturday. We had arrived on Monday for our stay and we’re not aware. Staff made no mention of the potential issue. Our assigned room was on the second floor with window facing the main Street. Around 6: 30 am, there was loud chanting, air horns, drums, etc that immediately woke us up and continued for the remainder of the stay. I wish we were given some sort of warning or at least earbuds in the room prior so that we could have adequately prepared/not woke up in a confused and dysfunctional state. I eventually went down to the lobby at 7am to request earplugs and staff acted like nothing was going on. When I addressed that at check out, staff also acted dismissive/ignored the issue.

As part of of the stay, 2 coffee/espresso beverages were included with the room - available in the morning at the lobby coffee bar. I was assured of this at check in and at the coffee bar where I grab my one free beverage in the morning. One week post visit - I noticed a $9 charge for said “complimentary beverage”.

I’m disappointed to say the least.

We were supposed to stay at the hotel for 4 nights. However, our flight was cancelled last minute due to a strike and we were blocked in Tahiti. Since there were still no concrete information or positive signs 2 days later, we decided to cancel our complete stay at the hotel. Although 2 days were already past, the hotel offered us a free cancellation of the complete booking. Wow, what a goodwill! We will hopefully make it to LA soon and will for sure stay at the Figueroa!

We stayed at a junior suite here, and this hotel offered such great value for our stay. The building is historic but newly renovated. The rooms are kept very clean and organized. The room service was great. The hotel is filled with artwork that reminded us that we are in LA. The room comes with full amenities. I appreciate them giving us 2 cartons of water each day. The paper water carton is more environmentally friendly than the plastic bottles. The king bed was very comfortable.
If I had to nitpick something, the valet situation is not the most optimal. Uber/Lyft drivers almost always block the entrance to the valet parking. Valet costs $55/day with tax excluding tips but is above ground. I would prefer a parking garage for that price.
Also, the bathroom is beautiful but the cobblestone shower is a bit tough on my foot.

It was a nice stay for us. The hotel is clean and the staff are super friendly. We also tried the Fig cafe there, which was really good.
Just beat in mind that California bas something called Destination fee which would add to your hotel bill something that we did not know.

Love… Definitely reminds me of France the open space has cozy lounge seating with fire places and long tables with power to work. And a full bar. I had brunch with a friend and had 2 cocktails, one mock tail, the dip appetizer, scrambled eggs and turkey bacon with salad and toast and and breakfast sandwich and with tip it was about 120 (100 with out tip) it’s not the place to go if you want something quick, service is slow, not in a bad way. Staff is super friendly, it’s a little confusing when you walk in, you enter through the rear

I am absolutely furious! This hotel has me seething with anger! We had the most horrendous experience during our stay in February! We had booked a four-night stay in a room with a king-sized bed.

Upon our arrival, they had the audacity to inform us that there were no more king bed rooms available. Instead, they gave us a room with a queen-sized bed and made promises that they would provide us with a king bed room the next day, along with compensating us with breakfast for two.

On the second day, we obediently packed our belongings early in the morning as instructed, believing that their staff would handle the transfer to the new room. We even received confirmation when we left the hotel. But to our utter disbelief, upon returning at 10 pm, they casually informed us that they had forgotten to reserve a king bed room for us. This time, they had the audacity to offer a mere price adjustment to the queen bed room. We were forced to pay for a king bed room while enduring a queen bed room for two nights!

Finally, on the third day, they grudgingly assigned us a king bed room. However, at 9 pm, we received a distressing call from the hotel notifying us that one of their valet parking employees had recklessly damaged our rental car in their parking lot. Adding insult to injury, the employee outright refused to provide their insurance information. The valet parking fee was a hefty $50 per day. And guess what? They only waived the parking fee for the night our car was hit!

As if that wasn't enough, on our last day, they had the audacity to present us with a bill that still charged us for a king bed room for all four nights, valet parking for four days, and even the breakfast that was supposed to be compensated! We had to argue vehemently with them to finally correct the bill.
But the nightmare didn't end there! A week later, we discovered a shocking charge of $93 on our credit card for the breakfast! Fuming with anger, we immediately contacted the credit card company to dispute the transaction. And unbelievably, another week passed, and they charged us again! Fed up with their incompetence and lack of regard for their customers, we reluctantly paid the second time, not wanting to waste any more precious time arguing with them.

To make matters worse, we are currently embroiled in a frustrating battle with the car rental company and our insurance provider over the car damage incident. The hotel employee responsible for the collision has shown complete disregard by refusing to provide her insurance information and ignoring all calls from the insurance company. It appears we may be left with no choice but to shoulder the repair costs ourselves.

In light of the appalling treatment we received and the countless issues we encountered, we vehemently advise against anyone considering staying at this hotel. The complete lack of professionalism, disregard for customer satisfaction, and the sheer incompetence displayed by the staff have left us absolutely outraged. It is clear that this establishment has no regard for the well-being and comfort of its guests. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment by steering clear of this hotel at all costs.

I’ll start by saying the hotel is beautiful and the restaurants are all fabulous. However, this is the loudest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The hotel was hosting a private party during my stay. The music was blaring in my room and I was given no warning of the noise or party in advance. I booked this hotel specifically so I could sleep early and wake up early for an event Sunday. I called the front desk, and they said the party would end by 11pm. When the party went past 11, I called again, and they said it would end at 1130pm. At 1135pm I called again, and they apologized saying they’d tell security to end the noise. The music died down thankfully at 1140pm, but the rooms still have very poor noise insulation, so I still heard guests screaming past then.

While I can’t expect a hotel to cancel a private event due to one guest complaining, I did wish the hotel invested in sound proofing — it makes me question if the staff has ever stepped into a guest room during one of these parties.

The ambiance of the restaurants and pool are really cool, but you don’t have to stay here to experience them. I really wanted to love this hotel. It was beautiful and the food is great, but that’s where the value ended for me. I would stay again if I were going to be out partying late, but not if I was trying to sleep before midnight.

Run away from this hotel.good facilities, delicious coffee and comfortable room, but they deceive you at checkin. Coffee machine in the room, 2 waters in the fridge and in the end they charge you 34 dollars a DAY for that. Experience could have been great, as long as they didn't deceive us, STEALING from the Guest 34 dollars a day.

Cuidado no check-in pois te roubam 34 dólares por dia

Beautiful, unique decor and exceptional staff. Ron was amazing. Maria was great as well.
Room was small, but had everything I needed. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom and toiletries, quiet in the evenings.

I want to go back to LA just to stay at Hotel Fig. Wow! What a property. It’s a historic property with so much charm and tastefully renovated. Our room appeared to be upgraded (was expecting a queen and ended up with a king corner room on the top floor) - talk about a win! I love that free espresso drinks are included with the destination fee, and the baristas know how to make a great latte. The gym is a smidge too small and the pool needs a few more lounge chairs, but would highly recommend staying here again.

We arrived to the facility to find an additional $50 parking fee despite the website stating it was included with the room. Then the workers completely ignored us hauling all our luggage instead of helping. Then we come to find out there’s a $150 deposit fee which is reasonable but then there’s a $70 “destination fee” which basically means they make you pay to access everything in the hotel that you ALREADY PAID FOR. On top of that the front desk attendants were beyond rude acting annoyed because we were shocked at the prices and when I asked another attendant that was not busy or anything to help me check in she stared me up and down and said “sure I was busy doing something but I’ll help”. Overall I would NEVER RETURN.

Stayed here for a conference at the convention center nearby. Really enjoyed my stay! The room was richly decorated and I loved all the details in how the rooms are designed, it has a European vibe to it. The room was a bit cramped since there was a lot of furniture (lacked a dresser sadly so had to put my luggage on the only couch, and had to move furniture around to make the space less cramped). Loved the bathroom and the pebbled flooring in the shower and the euro style shower head and additional hand held shower hose. Shampoo and lotions smelled lovely. Doors separated both shower and toilet into their own areas which was nice for extra privacy. Service was excellent and so was the food (high quality, varied offerings, and hefty portions). You get two free coffee drinks a day and the quality of the coffee (both at cafe and the pods in the room) was great, which makes me happy because I’m picky about coffee and have had so many terrible hotel coffee while traveling for conferences. The cocktails were also original and good (one of them came in a smoky transparent box, really neat presentation), which means a lot when cocktails are 20 a pop in LA. Cost of room was cheaper than big name hotels a block closer to the convention center, which is totally unnecessary since this hotel was still like a 5-10 min walk there. There’s a heated outdoor pool that has a chic loungy vibe. Also a small gym.
Overall, loved staying here and 100% recommend staying there if you’re in for a conference at the convention center (or in the area in general). We’ll be back if we come back to DTLA.

Hyatt-owned, swanky boutique hotel in downtown LA. Room was small but very comfy. Nice art and architecture throughout. The ground floor has two restaurants - Sparrow (higher end Italian) and Cafe Fig (casual, but nice, American food that will bring food to your room), a bar, and lots of seating areas to hang. Didn’t swim but pool area looked nice. Enjoyed my stay here, staff was attentive and great, would recommend
