We stayed there 3 nights while the girlfriend was at a conference across the street.
Great staff! They got us extra bedding after the girlfriend spilled wine on the bed. (The comforter was amazing.oversized and full of what seemed like down feathers. Got me extra utensils. Very fast- very attentive.
Great location! It's located within a 10 minute walk of Cannery Row. Within a 5 minute walk of a beautiful area of grass for dogs, and awesome views- along with historical monuments and signage explaining it all. Within a 5 minute walk to a ton of restaurants.
Our room had a hide-a-bed couch, microwave, mini fridge, a 180° turnable 35" tv to watch from the bed at night or the couch during the day, an ironing board, iron, a coffee maker and a fireplace (We didnt use because it was older and we didn't want to blow ourselves up).
There's even a hot tub right on the Pacific Ave side of the building!
What really bummed me out was the paper-thin walls- we could easily hear other people's conversation, the paper thin ceilings (we could hear every footstep above us) and the temperature control (they use floor-mounted air systems for heat and [Im assuming] Air conditioning. We didnt use the AC because it was so cold. But the heating was.temperamental. Turned it to what should've been a comfortable 78°F and we'd be burning up after 30 minutes. Turned it to 72, we'd be freezing. Dont know if there's insulation in the walls but I doubt it. Had to open the back patio door to let some of the heat out.
Which brings me to the last thing.the back patio. A cement cell.with 2 chairs. Didnt spend a single minute out there.
A couple light fixtures in the ceiling by the microwave were completely missing, as in torn out and not replaced.
Hardwood panel floors except around bed, which had very thin carpet around it.
Old counterspaces. Everything just seemed kinda outdated especially if you're used to staying at a Marriott or Hilton or something.
Parking was very limited. Saw cars double-parked in the basement garage. VERY tight spots.
The courtyard areas were nice! They had nice landscape plants in raised beds and beautiful small recycling fountains.
Overall.is was good, not great or Outstanding.
I'd probably stay someplace else next time.even for another $50 a night.

Great location in Monterey, especially for the price. If you have kids or pets - stay here. Good value and wonderful location.

Walls are paper thin. Was up until 1am before problem was resolved. Stayed 2 nights, second night was terrible because of noise!

Hotel Pacific is a great winter get away. They are welcoming to disabled persons and minutes from Cannery Row. Well heated with gas fireplaces, and rather romantic. Bring your own drinks and snacks, as they don't have vending machines, but there is a charming grocery store a half block away. Cannery Row is free of a lot of tourists so you have the shops seemingly to yourself. It is located on the historical walk to Cannery Row, I wondered if Author Steinbeck walked along the "sidewalk" path. So much history of people that worked in poverty as do the field workers of today do. Gives you something to think about. " The Grapes of Wrath " is still with us, unfortunately.

Bed wasn't very comfortable, but the room was spacious. Also, the pillows are square like minecraft. For the price, experience and enviroment was eh. Location is superb, but breakfast was also eh. 5/10 all together, average.

We really enjoyed our stay the room was cozy with a fireplace though we didn't use it. We pnly stayed 1 night since we didn't want to travel back to San Jose after a concert at the Golden State Theater. But my husband and I said we would definitely stay here again we even told family and friends about our enjoyable stay. Also the people at the desk were also very helpful

The room was better than expected. The in room fireplace was a nice romantic touch to the room. We had a nice patio above the fountain (downside: there was an opening on the patio to the next room). Room was very spacious.

Perfect location to dining and the waterfront. Quick walk to Cannery Row with local marine life along the walk.

Planning on staying here anytime we are in Monterey in the future and will definitely recommend to friends.

I was a little hesitant to book based on the reviews but honestly the stay wasn't bad at all. The rooms were very spacious and I liked the separate tub and shower. I didn't get a chance to use the fireplace but it was working. The breakfast was nice but the hot option of the meat was virtually non-existant unless you got there right when it opened at 7am.

I absolutely loved the grounds and the courtyard it was very peaceful and relaxing. And you absolutely cannot beat the location it's within walking distance to both fisherman's wharf, the beach, and downtown. It's also a 20 min walk to Cannery Row. I love that it's nestled between all the historical buildings in Monterey.

The major downside is the paper thin walls. I could literally hear all the stomping from upstairs and could hear the neighbor's dog barking like it was outside my door but it wasn't. I would definitely recommend getting a room on the highest level or packing some ear plugs.

Overall it was a nice stay and I would probably stay there again the next time I'm in town!

The room was nice! However, the bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds I ever laid on.

What a great spot. There are families with kids and dogs which has been fine. The staff is incredible and very efficient. Walking neighborhood close to site seeing. Worth the stay!

To start we were greeted by Murphy, such amazing customer service. He was such a nice guy! Growing up staying at motel 6, this is definitely a huge upgrade, the biggest room I've ever seen! Spacious, heater, A/C, nice bathroom with a seperate tub I loved this place! IGNORE THE KAREN REVIEWS!

Wonderful experience! Will definitely be back. Every single person we encountered was friendly, welcoming and helpful. We were able to get an early check in and a late check out. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Great location and the complementary breakfast exceeded my expectations.
