House Of Shah Afghan Urban Eats, Woodland CA

I gave them 3 stars because the menu was not specific. We ordered a 2 kabob meal and the description of the kabob meal says any 2 kabobs. A Kabob description on the menu says 5 pieces of meat. So I expected 10 pieces for 2 kabobs. But instead we got 3 pieces of each meat. We called and the way that it was explained to us is that when you order a mixed Kabob it’s only 3 pieces of meat each. This was a little confusing and a little misleading. I just felt like it wasn’t a whole lot for what we paid for. However the food was good.

Wonderfully flavored and prepared Afghani style food. Can get a bit loud and echoey eating inside, but the food is fabulous

Love this place. Everything is great, but definitely recommend the Afghan macaroni is really amazing. They also may make the best burger in town and definitely make the best fries.

We had dinner here again and everything is still great. I definitely recommend the Chapli burger and fries (Chapli or regular). I still think they make the best burger in town.

The Shah is in our top 2 places to eat.we like the unique way they spice and flavor the chicken and rice, the spinach sabsi, and everyone should try different entrees and sides on the menu. Nice blend of exotic, yet substantial and nutritious dishes. The people working are charming.

I cannot believe how many 5 star ratings this place has. Based on reviews and pictures this looks like a great restaurant. Based on my experience, I will never return.

They don't take phone orders (what?) so they push for online ordering. Tried ordering for pickup through doordash. Can't order chicken kabuli because the app is poorly designed and does not show all options available, unable to add to cart. Because of this they allowed the exception to order over the phone.

I received my order on time. Was not offered utensils or napkins so I had to walk back in and ask. I feel like this place has the potential to be a successful restaurant but the food is not very good and far from authentic. The chicken is dry, the yogurt is literally just plain yogurt, the salad is inedible, the naan is bready, plain, and very dry.

I’ve been going here for years, and today is the first time I didn’t like the food. It tasted like they bought cheaper versions of the ingredients, or put less on. My burger had a different kind of bun that turned slimy, was small, and tasted like cheap white bread from Walmart. I hope these changes aren’t permanent, because I normally love the food.

The food was very good, and the servings were well proportioned. The price was right, not too expensive yet got my moneys worth

We took our clients there today for lunch. It was clean, quaint, cute, and the staff was very helpful in explaining the menu items. Prices, selection, and quality was great. The food was a hit and it was fresh. We will offer this selection again to our Woodland clients when they are wanting to go get a bite to eat and willing to try something new. Thanks House of Shah, your staff were wonderful hosts today.

The food was great and portions were large. We had plenty leftover for later. My order was to go, but the server who took my order was very nice and made great suggestions.

There are plenty of vegan/vegetarian options available. I plan to return.

Awesome. Some of the best eats in Woodland with fast and friendly service. Affordable to boot. You won't be disappointed.

Here is the place for Afghan food. It is fast food so don't expect the height of cuisine. The stuff is very friendly. There are plenty of tables out on the street with only a few inside.

Restaurant has a minimalist decor. Ordered the chapli kabob. A good dish and quite spicy. Pallow rice probably the best one. Menu options very straightfoward, but takes time to choose if you eat here for the first time.

Really disappointing, especially because we relied on the reviews. This not Afghani food nor is it 5 stars. The mantu tasted more like tacos and everything was drenched in salt. The only item on the menu worth eating is the fries.

I’m confident the food here poisoned me. I would leave zero stars if I could. The food is mediocre for the price and to make it even worse it is not even close to authentic. You should not call yourself a afghani restaurant. Sleepy service, poor food quality, and when we asked why it was like this they stated that their kitchen was backed up
And there was only 2 people ordering.

NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN

I called today to place an order for my office to find this place does not take phone orders. This is very inconvenient and disappointing.
