Campground Housekeeping Camp reviews
14 This is a complex review. Consider there is the site location, facilities and structures. There is also the company running the Housekeeping Camp and facilities.
Site location is excellent, facilities are good (showers used to be not good, they are much better now), laundry is good. Campsites are okay, some aren't great, some are very good. Aramark is okay, during the busy season some of the staff start having attitudes at the front desk, shower, and rental area. Just do your best to not let them ruin your day, come back later if having a minor problem, might get someone later who is helpful. There are also these elderly retired people who will roam the campground on a powertrip, they come off as smarmy rent-a-cops as a whole. (Aren't all like this, didn't see any this summer, but they are out there)
Overall this is a great place, though, it is either the worst motel you've ever seen, or the easiest camping you've ever seen. Lights and electrical outlets are available. Used to have only the small bear boxes 20+ years back, then the flood came, Lower Pines was scrapped and we got the larger ones.
Camp closes in October and opens late spring. There should be a blog page devoted to what you should bring, lots of little random things, according to the paper you get when you enter wood can be collected outside the valley, so go that route if possible and save some cash. Centrally located so you can easily get anywhere. Accessible units available.
Nice place to stay if you don't want to put up a tent. Right in the middle of the valley.
Showers were pretty good
OMG! Probably the BEST place to camp in Yosemite It's not quite "glamping" but you do have a bed and a patio with a bit of electricity. Keep everything in the bear boxes at all times so you don't get critters visiting! Wonderful views and great trails.
Fun but noisy, and not very well maintained when it's busy. One of the toilets had the same giant skid mark in it from Wed - Sunday while we were there.
It's nice to have lights and electricity both inside and out.kind of a game changer if you're used to regular campsites.
Nice place, if you’re first time camping. Closer to grocery stores and restaurants. There is fear of bear appearances, but it is fun and the rangers have your back so no worries. Close to the river so you’ll enjoy a nice view.
Camp site provides you with showers and restrooms.
They were good about COVID policies, the other side of the building was roped off. Sleeping area was clean just remember to bring your own covers and stuff. Bring a lock for your bear box. Good cheap glamping with restroom close by. Noticed a lot of people brought extra tarps and lights, not a bad idea if it's really windy and rainy.
It was a nice place with all the experience of camping with lesser hassle of set up. Well kept and clean showers and toilet stalls. We got a nice site right by the the river with magnificent sky views at dawn and night. The only not so happy experience was when an employee poured water over our campfire thinking we were not around but it also meant they were very vigilant
Sickening experience. My bed was filled with rats and bugs and at 3am the staff came and stole all of my personal belongings and when I tried to get them back they they Locked us in the public bathroom.
It was fun staying here for 2 days, but the booking was disorganized and the place honestly felt under built for large families. The space to sleep is very small, and honestly needs to be re kept. I understand it’s camping but if you’re gonna try and make it modern camping at least make it semi comfortable. Showers were creepy, and it seems like someone is slamming bear boxes at all hours even at the dead of night, might be raccoons but I don’t think raccoons make shoe noises. Had a very hard time getting good sleep as well. Only good thing was the view and lake near us
One of my favorites places on the planet. 'Camping' with electricity, water and showers & toidys bolted to the floor (Not Port-O-Potties). Sleeping bags or 600 TC sheets on real beds that are off the floor. Electrical outlets in your room AND common area. You are smack dab in the middle of the most beautiful bit if nature. You can have a hot meal (that you make in your own "kitchen") and watch a movie in your DVD player if you're so inclined. Or roast hotdogs on a stick over your own fire-pit. The Staff gets Ten Stars. They are helpful and kind and knowledgeable about things to do in The Valley. It's heavenly.
Overall is nice and clean camp. The cheapest place I could find in the national park apart from campsite. 125$ per stay. It would be cheaper if you came with friend. Inside the camp there is 2 bunkbeds electricity plug and light bulb.camp fire There is matt and blanket for rent There is everything you want. Laundry Shower reasonable groceries shop
This is the second year in a row you’ve cancelled my reservations! The first time I can understand but this time. NO. I was told it was in priority of when the reservation was booked. I rebooked last year! As soon as it became available. So that’s total bull. Not to mention those who were cancelled and rebooked should have been made priority either way. Emailed and got some generic robo bot response. Unacceptable.
We stopped here after a day in the park. We weren't looking to stay overnight. We used the showers for a small fee. With that you got a towel and hot water!
A great spot for turn key camping. A step up from camping but not quite as luxurious as a cabin. Reasonable rates, friendly staff, nice to be able to have a bed, hot shower and use laundrette while being right in the valley floor. Would definitely come back here. You can rent bedding for very little, but if you’re coming for more than a single night it’s probably worth bringing your own as it significantly adds to the cost for a group over several nights.
