American Restaurant Houston's reviews
20I had lunch here the other day and Sarah was our server. She was awesome! Very attentive, great smile and demeanor. Between the good food and even better service, it was an overall great experience! Highly recommend!
Great food and atmosphere. Service a little sketchy - they were busy and we do have COVID to consider. Worth the price overall.
Parking is very bad. Plan on an extra 10 minutes either for a long walk or waiting. No valet available. No internet. Cell phone service is also poor.
Hillstone crown jewel in the middle of Irvine. Elbow into the crowded bar and get disk up the clay atmosphere. Best sushi in OC, surprisingly.
Not a nice place anymore.
Service was exceptional. The food is not worth the price. Listen, if you don't know any better this place is fine.
Stopped into this location and had another fantastic meal from Houston's. The service was spot on and my Hawaiian Ribeye was spectacular, per usual. Make a reservation if you can, a walk in can take upwards of an hour.
Very accommodating, attentive and classy. Not a huge menu but definitely a good variety to select from. The environment was like a fancy bar setting surrounded by smaller booths and tables. Would recommend advanced reservation.
Unwilling to allow reservations for 5. Walk in times 1 hour. Maybe I’m the only one operating this way but off my list for life. I need companies that appreciate business and large parties is good business.
We have been eating at Houston's since it first opened. Food and service have been consistently excellent. The only negative comment has been the hot baked potatoes do not always come out piping hot.
Nice atmosphere and good food, but very expensive. Also they are jerks there. Husband walked from work 1 block and they would not wait 10 minutes for him. We were kicked out. Never again.
On 10/10/2021 my wife and I were waiting for 10 minutes when two caucasian gentlemen walked in with a party of 4. They were assertive and adamant about sitting in a specific area, and a member of the staff promptly seated them over my wife and I who are African American. When I asked the staff member why they overlooked us they took ownership of this, however I believe this is the result of unconscious bias.
This incident left us with an uncomfortable feeling and tainted our experience.
Exceeded expectations on all fronts for date night. Our server, Sara, was exceptionally impeccable. Hands down best server I’ve ever had. Very personable with amazing menu recommendations. Atmosphere was on point and the food was amazing. We got the coconut shrimp roll, fall off the bone bbq ribs, and French dip. Best ribs I’ve had in a very long time. We will be coming back and asking to be seated in Sara’s section again!
Goat cheese olives for martini, great smoked salmon appetizers. Always a solid dining choice.
Really enjoyed this place! Had the pork chop.very tender with a nice savory sauce. Didn't love the cabbage, but the potatoes were good, however not as warm as I would've liked. The apple cobbler for dessert yum! A must try! Had the house cabernet, very nice! Not too sweet, like some house wines. Servers were very attentive. Over all a great meal. Definitely will go back
Here, you may truly relish your day! This is ideal for gatherings with family and friends. The service received five stars! This book comes highly recommended!
Excellent staff. Delicious food and beautiful ambiance. Excellent wine selection. Had the Hawaiian rib eye. It was absolutely delicious. There is a sort of positive energy to this place. It's hoppin.
My friend wanted to take me to Houstons (I think she had been there once for lunch with friends). It was a Friday night, and there was a waiting list. Somehow they goofed up on calling us and we waited perhaps 20 minutes longer than we should have. When I brought this to the attention of our server, he brought in the floor manager, and were very apologetic. They comped me a nice piece of key lime pie, which I did not expect. The server and the manager we outstanding in making us feel like they wanted to make things right. BTW, the food was superb. I rarely give "Excellent" ratings, but Houstons earned it.
Hillstone Restaurant Group is always solid no matter which location, great service and the food never disappoints
Loved the ambience. Thai noodle salad especially with steak filet was great.
Restaurant packed at 2 pm saturday. Recommend making reservations.
The best greyhound anywhere (fight me), but slightly overpriced for the servings, no decaf coffee (WTH!) And we ordered key lime pie at the end, but they had already run out.
