Howard Johnson by Wyndham San Diego Sea World

We picked this Motel becuase of the location and the price. It was the cheapest deal we could find in the area and after staying there I know why. We were allowed to check in an hour early which was a relief after a flight and a warm day of sight seeing. The room was upgraded with new paint and new furniture. The bathroom was handicap accessible, but upon close inspection, it wasn't as clean as we could want. The air vent in the bathroom was disgusting, and the shower head didn't look any better. The Motel boasts free breakfast on its sign, but when I checked it out, you could tell it was geared toward kids with offerings of cereal, waffles, and yogurts. There were also some juices out, but I didn't try them. The really disappointing part of my stay was when we checked out, they refused to hold our bags. We explained we had a late evening flight and wanted to do some sightseeing, but the clerk refused saying she already had five bags and was full. Also, online, the pictures show a good variety of snacks and drinks available for sale. The reality is they had a few bags of chips, water, and powerade's. If a person needs a cheap place to sleep, this may be right for you. Personally I won't stay here again based on the customer service.

Everything was fine, but the A/C was noisy and weak and had to be on full blast all night and it still wasn't cooling.

Duty, old carpet, fridge not working, people next door smoking Marijuana, Spiders outside, breakfast crowded, desk reception girls with no personality, I spent 2 nights 1 toilet paper in the bathroom, night stand lights broken. It was a nightmare!

The room was clean, spacious and the person at the counter was very nice. I did not see any bed bugs (thank God), beds were pretty clean. There was a very very faint smell of smoke, that's like the only negative thing I can point out. Overall, nice room and not super close to the airport, but not super far.about a 12 minute drive.

When I arrived at 4pm to check in I was given a dirty room with used towels everywhere on the bed counters and floor. Drinks opened on the counters. Hairs on the toilet seat. Totally disgusting! I complained and was given another room. But upon checking that room there was dead roaches near the bed. Never staying again

We had arrived Saturday afternoon, moved to another room for “maintenance” on Sunday and by 1am Monday morning we had to move to 3rd room because of bed bugs which I received several bites. Not a great experience.

Worst experience at this hotel ever for management disrespectful and rude we were supposed to say three nights stayed two nights and on the third night we went to help a friend move came back and the management would not let us in the room because we have a motor home that has been parked in the street the entire stay never even drove on their parking lot and she says there's not allowed to be any motorhomes on the property which there wasn't so she discriminated against us was rude disrespectful and not a way to conduct a business then she refused to let me speak with anybody above her and also my boyfriend asked would it be all right if we just moved the RV even though it's illegal for her to tell us we can't park on a city street and she refused that as well I would not recommend this hotel to anyone anytime ever not to mention the bugs in the room terrible place to stay

It wasn't perfect but it's one of the best spots in the area and it's affordable I'd recommend them I don't think it's fair to dou BB let the rent for weeks ends is there no rent control for hotels?

On day 2 of our 4 day stay. Rooms are clean of a bit dated. Bed is comfortable. Close to everything.

Stay was ok.hotel was in central location of everywhere I needed to be.first hotel though where u don't get maid service unless u ask.finally asked and was only given a few clean towels and nothing more

So bad, booked a reservation in advance. Overbooked rooms. They would not cancel reservation. Still charged for no rooms when they had three open rooms available? ! Terrible
