H&R Block, Oakland CA

I was working under my F1 visa opt with a valid SSN which makes me a non tax resident according to the law, but the employee insisted I had to file as a tax resident. When I sent him the printscreens from both my school and IRS explicitly stating that I was non resident for tax purposes, his reply is that he has many years of work experience and I should not tell him what to do.
I took all my documents and filled with a real tax firm.

My husband, and I made an appointment to the Oakland CA Temescal office. It was quick and easy. We were referred to a senior staff member Chi Kim Huynh, AFSP.she explained the reasons why we owned a large amount for our 2019 taxes very clearly.

When i did my taxes there it was really good and the lady that help me it was really friendly and she did the my taxes really fast

I had an appointment with one of the tax experts and when I reached there the place was closed. They confirmed my appointment via text. This is very unprofessional to not be present when an appointment has been confirmed. I would like to give 0 stars as they dont even deserve 1 star.

My taxes were handled in a timely manner. Kim did a good job explaining everything to me. Overall I was happy with my tax preparation. Kim is a profesional and she did a good job.

I had an amazing experience with Truong She was so patient and help me through every deduction and made sure I got a fair refund. She always answered her phone and got back to me as soon as possible. Very professional I definitely recommend getting your taxes done with her.

Availability of scheduling, professionalism and efficiency of receptionist and tax analysts. Nice location.

I had a great experience with Dennis Lynch who made sense of our complicated situation (rental unit, self-employment, etc.) and was kind and smart and helped me navigate the labyrinth with good cheer. Taxes in general stress me out, and he was able to work around my imperfect record-keeping and find the documents we needed and I trusted him completely.

Isabel is kind and truly cares about her clients. She is not only competent, but does her job with passion. She wants to make sure you receive every possible refund you qualify for. I highly recommend seeing her for your taxes!

I need to compare the price with what I have paid my retired CPA. It did seem high, but then I have just opened a business which affected my filing. My appointment started about 30 minutes late. My possible discount was not looked into, but I felt the service on my tax analysis was good.

As long as Fred Stevens is working I plan to come back. He is easy to work with and very efficient.

Friendly person; explained in depth what she was doing and tried to save me some money by offering two options for recording my business expenses.

Service charges are too high. Try to minimize that. I came from Hayward to Oakland, it's too far. I disappoint with the charges. I could file my tax in Hayward in low rates. But I got misguided by someone. Next time will never repeat my mistake

I'm please with the service at H&R Block. I called them and they got me in with a tax prep consultant the same day. She was really quick, got my filing processed, get me a refund, and on my way. I plan on being back next year.

My regular HR Block preparer retired and he sent a letter with the names of other preparers he thought I might work well with. Met with the new person today and liked her, felt confident in her work.
