Hummingbird Trail reviews
15Good luck finding this hidden location. There are matters but it's really easy to get lost and turned around.don't give up. Seen and you will find the cave
Steep climb but worth it! Lots of people get lost looking for the cave (Wonderland) so make sure to do your research before hand Start early if during the warmer months. Not much shade so be sure to bring plenty of water. And of course snacks to enjoy once you reach the amazing destination. Be careful heading back to the ladder if in Wonderland, the layers of paint makes it a little slippery and have seen many fall. Pack it out & leave no trace. Enjoy
The Hummingbird Trail is a nice trail to hike or mountain bike in Rocky Peak Park, but it is fairly steep and can be challenging. There is no shade so best to hike in the cooler months and in the morning or late afternoon. The views are nice as you hike up the hillsides and get better the higher you go. Worth hiking if visiting Rocky Peak Park.
Not an easy hike. I did pass somebody on the road that was taking their dog, I was surprised! I know my dog would not make it to the swings. We did it as a family activity. Definitely not for the little ones.
Giving it a four because of the terrible poison oak I got. This is my 11th day fighting it and have really paid the price for honestly a good hike.
Awesome hike, lots of people go here now. It use to be a secret! It's okay, enjoy please don't leave trash.
Interesting trail to say the least. Not a lot of parking but enough cause it’s not crowded. There’s a few trails but they all sorta lead to the swing cave. When you get to the main big rock, look for black arrows on the ground to point to the cables to lead down towards the swing cave. Only about 1.2 miles from the parking. You can do the loop and do 4 miles
Funny graffiti never bored but often confused. Follow the white hearts, smile faces and rabbits.
Great hike with a beautiful view. If you plan to hike this trail, please wear proper hiking shoes to avoid injuries. Also, I know everyone loves thier pets, but these trails are not for pets and offer little to no shade. Therefore, please leave your pets at home, where they can be comfortable and safe. In addition, take your trash out with you. A few people are leaving water bottles and mask on the trails (No Bueno). Furthermore, if you are hiking to the swim cave, please be extremely safe and come prepared with plenty of water and proper hiking attire.
I do not recommend this hike for anyone with existing injuries, pets or children.
Enjoy nature and remain safe.
See you on the trails.
Hummingbird trail is one of the hardest hikes I've done but the top views are so rewarding. 5 stars!
Must visit Beautiful trail. I recommend coming on a weekday or early as possible because there is very limited parking, but other than that it's a very enjoyable hike. Would recommend again
I did this Trail early on Friday morning there was plenty of parking no issues started at around 9: 00 a.m. There is a dirt parking lot down from the trail which is the only place that you can park without getting a ticket if you park on the street you will get a ticket.
The trail itself has a bunch of arrows which actually confuse you I was originally told to follow the arrows but the arrows aren't very helpful I had seen a YouTube video that actually explained it a lot better.
Getting to the cave is a lot of incline which makes it a moderate Trail in my opinion just because of the rock scrambling that's required to get into the cave they do have a cable to help you down which makes it easier and a bit safer once inside the cave just enjoy swing on the swing take a couple of pictures for your Instagram and call it a day.
This place is the home of the hidden swing. In order to get to the hidden swing take a left off the main trail and follow the mountain bike trail all the way. You will see a white rabbit spray painted. Follow the white rabbit until you get to apes spray painted purple. Take a right and go up the trail until you get to Gatsby spray painted. Gatsby will lead you down to the hidden swing. Please pick up your trash and leave the area better than you found it.

Waaay too many people. Construction next to trail is a shame. But the hills are still worth the view.
There is a dirt parking lot that gets full fast with free parking. There were also a bunch of cars parked on the street, but the signs said no parking and tow away zone, but I wouldn’t risk parking there. Several ways to get to the swing and for us it was a hard hike with lots of climbing. Probably spent 3 hours in total. I don’t recommend small children coming though!
