Hunan Restaurant reviews
7The authentic and delicious dishes satisfy my stomach and nourish my homesickness. Thank you, boss lady, and wish you a prosperous business.
The first time I ate it was in 2002. At that time, my girlfriend and I would eat it two or three times a week, especially the spicy stir-fried frog and boiled fish tofu are super delicious. It seems that after opening a new store and changing the management in about 10 years, the taste has changed. It’s a lot worse, and the service needn’t be mentioned. There was no service at first, and then it got worse. I was so disgusted by their service attitude that I didn’t want to go there again. This restaurant is also the only restaurant where I left a penny as a tip.
This place is tucked into a small plaza right next to the Courtyard Marriott hotel. We went here twice in three days. We were a little skeptical at first because of the review but the food is superb and is traditional spicy Hunan cuisine. If it matters to you - no MSG used in the dishes, you can tell. We had stir fried cauliflower, diced frog, pickled green beans with minced pork, stewed red chili tofu, all were tremendous. Portions are good and not stingy.
The taste is very good, authentic Hunan cuisine. We have only been here for seven days, but because we love spicy food, we chose Hunan cuisine. After eating it, we were amazed. We came here for several days in a row. Before boarding the plane, we also packed a portion of dried garlic bacon take away. I don't know why the online rating is so low. But the dishes are absolutely delicious, and you can choose the degree of spiciness. The key is that it is not salty, so no matter how much you eat, you will not feel overwhelmed. I especially like Sanjiao chicken offal, Hunan-style steamed whole fish, and spicy fried frog. The owner has been running this restaurant for more than 20 years. He is very easy-going and talkative, and the service is very good. It is worth recommending for foodies who love Hunan cuisine
A rather unpalatable restaurant. The chef is not from Hunan, but from Henan. I also heard arguing with the female boss in the kitchen. The female boss looks like she doesn’t know how to treat guests. Seeing enough, I ordered Hunan fried pork, the result is that thick-skinned sweet peppers are deep-fried and served together with slices of twice-cooked pork. It is the most unpalatable Hunan fried pork I have ever eaten.
The experience was super bad. The service is slow, and the waiter will tease the customer's pet dog while serving the food, and then turn around to serve other tables. It's really strange and rare.
