Hungry Joe's Jamaican Restaurant reviews
20When I pay 67 dollars for a meal for oxtails and jerk chicken. Since I volunteered the patronize your business I can actually put the gun to my head but next time just slap me in the face when I give you my money, I don't care if it's $1. I expect to get both of those things I ordered, I don't expect to get steak mixed with oxtails and pay full price on that day you need to have a discount sale! @@@@@? And you got to remember other people cook in LA this is a foodie community, if you can't tell the difference between a steak bone from oxtails bones? For RealI could you want pictures? I don't care how well the seasoning it is! It looks like oxtail mushy over rice, YOU SEE THAT ASK FOR A DISCOUNT!
Tasty food.and large portions!
I always use credit when using my debit card. I am not sure why my BofA card does not work here. I cannot do a credit transaction. It states declined when purchasing food and there is cash in the checking account. It is not worth driving back with the high gas prices to go get cash. Will have to come back another time.
No bathrooms on premises and this is in a very small parking lot, so parking is scarce. The line moves very slow.
Fast delivery, I ordered the jerk chicken rice and peas, with a strawberry cheese cake.it was very spicy and that’s coming from someone who loves spicy food.
THE BEST! Great authentic Jamaican food. You can tell they cook with a lot of love. Great people and service too. May have to wait a little while, but the food is well worth the wait. It is better to call in!
I ordered and paid for a large plate was given a medium plate with more bones & sauce then meat. The favor was ok but I will not go back.
I’m from the east coast whoever says this place is good must be paid off or held at gunpoint everything was horrible I ordered for me and my mother and wish I went to Popeyes
I was here in the employe has a bad attitude I really dont like it this has to go to the manager I well not come back again this employe is a man it was today May 28 2022 at 11am bad seriveces!
It was alright for me. I got the brown stew and I gotta say the flavor is absolutely there, but the chicken was very dry. Great portion of food, but I thought I got too much rice.
Didn't enjoy the food at all. The short ribs looked burnt no taste white rice bland the "salad" was like steamed cabbage or whatever. Never again for me
Best jamaican restaurant in Inglewood (I'll fight anyone who says otherwise) and it's evident because the line goes all the way down the curb. Definitely call in to place your order if you can. Don't sleep on the peach cobbler cheesecake yall!
This restaurant has the best Oxtails in Los Angeles County hands down! The portions are large and worth every penny. I would not go anywhere else for JamIcan cuisine. The taste is superb and the meat is so tender it falls off the bone. Whenever you are in Inglewood, stop by Hungry Joe's, trust me it will be the best decision you make.
.
It's not hard to tell before even tasting the food that this is one of the best Caribbean spots in town. The crowd itself explains a lot.
OMG! Finally a place in LA that sells real Jamaican food. First it is so hard to find a restaurant that actually sells SaltFish Fritters. I must say that they are actually pretty good. My mom loves them and It's real hard to please an older Jamaican born woman that knows how to make them. Thats my momma tho! I'm basing my review on my purchase. The brown stew chicken is always on point. I have never been disappointed yet. I bought my mom some beef soup and it was good even though she couldnt eat it due to her medical condition because of the spices. Im not a soup person but she couldnt eat it I wouldn't let it go to waste but that beef soup would turn me into a soup eater. The service could use some work because there is no organization when it comes to ordering. I waited in line about 10 minutes to order and one man just cut it front and asked for food and they went and made sure the got it for him in front of everyone else. I finally place my order and after another 10 minutes of waiting they come and tell me they are out of brown stew chicken. I will come back for the food, it's good. True Jamaican food at its best. Carrot juice on point. You know it's real when your rice and peas are made with gungo peas. The patties are good you just have to get coco bread next door at the Caribbean market.
When i say these people know how to coooooook. I will marry whoever is making the brown stew, thats the only way ill get the recipe. I miss Jamaica, i havent been in a long time but i remember the food, and this food is authentic!
Yo! My favorite Jamaican dish is curry goat. I've had it all over Jamaica, South Florida, New York, & LA and the one from here is my all time favorite! I've eaten it twice in the last week and I was smiling and dancing the whole time. So delicious and comforting!
I only ask that when I order food that people taking the order pay attention. NO MATTER HOW BUSY IT IS. I waited a whole 2 hours for food I ordered 2 hours before hand, that was NEVER put in to the cook. I think that's nonsense. I love my people but hire folks that are gonna do their job. Period
Best Jamaican food ever. Better than any I’ve had, even in Jamaica. I’m from NYC and Hungry Joe has them beat. The chicken soup was superb; I still dream about it. We will be back to LA in August and are stopping there once we leave airport. First stop even before our hotel!
I got a jerk chicken meal that came with rice and mixed veggies and 6 different meat patties and we loved it all. The food is very good.
De Best all the time! Longtime customer. Pine-Ginger favorite. Like everything on the menu
Chickenfoot Soup always on point. Breakfast is great as well.
BEST AUTHENTIC Jamaican cuisine is guaranteed here. I grew up eating these flavors so I'm sure that good eating happens here. It DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU ORDER. EVERYTHING is good here! EXCELLENT EVEN Best Jamaican food around unless you're eating at mi moms table!
