I have been taking my dog here for just basically shots, flea treatments, and allergies for a while now and have never had anything bad to say about this office aside from there always seems to be a long wait (even when you have an appointment). But after bringing my cat here 2 weeks ago, I am disgusted in the care my poor baby received. If you are thinking of taking your animal here, PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW.

We brought our kitty in because we noticed her breathing a little heavy and just thought she may have asthma or allergies or something. Dr. Natto was the vet on duty that day and took my kitty back for X-rays. She came back and said there was fluid around her lungs and they need to drain it out. She just acted like it was no big deal and told us to come back in 2 hours because they were so busy. So against our judgment, we trusted them and left our girl with there. We came back after 2 hours and they told us to come back in 2 more. Frustrated, we left and came back after the 2 MORE hours. Eventually, Dr. Natto came back and told us there was a milky fluid they removed from around our cats lungs and that she has something called “chylothroaxys”. She proceeded to pull up a GOOGLE SEARCH right in front of us and read us the first result. We asked her what this all means. Is this a long term condition? Is this life threatening? Is it painful? Is there a cure or cause? How do we proceed? Ect. The entire time she is just responding with “uhh.well uhm…. Some cats recover and other need to have their lungs drained repeatedly. ” So we ask her again. Every week? Every month? For life? Does this resolve? Is this deadly? Does this affect her quality of life? We not once received a straight forward answer from her. We understand there are conditions that are rare and can have uncertain outcomes but this was never communicated to us and felt like she was dancing around giving us a straight answer (or in all honesty legitimately did not even know). To top this all off, when we finally were checking out and they brought our baby girl out to us, she was absolutely SOAKED in URINE in her carrier! I wanted to cry when I saw that. How could you let a sick cat sit in pee for HOURS. I am so heartbroken that happened to her. But this story gets even worse!

They told us to come back in a week to follow up on bloodwork and possibly drain her lungs again. We decided that we would get a second opinion and scheduled an appointment with a different vet office. When we brought her into the new vet, along with all her records including her bloodwork and stuff, they agreed that it was chylothoraxys. This vet was so much more straight forward than Dr. Natto. He told us this is affecting her quality of life and most cats do not recover. He sat with us for close to an hour while we cried, asking him about a million questions to which every single one he had an answer to. Of course, it was not what we wanted to hear but it was the truth and I am grateful that we got answers. He recommended we put our baby down that day. She was much more relaxed at home so we went home with her to spend a few more days by her side. Cuddling and loving her until we noticed her becoming uncomfortable and then would do the right thing and put her down. If that vet wasn’t straight up with us, we would have gone to work and gone about our week thinking this was not as serious as it was until we came home and may have found our poor baby suffering or worse, find that she had died alone. We ended up having to put her down on 9/1. It was the hardest thing I have ever done but she was suffering from a condition with no real cause or cure.

The fact that this office did not communicate how serious this issue was with us disgusts me. They just wanted to keep pumping her lungs and rack up a bill! They in no way had her best interest in heart and only wanted money. I cannot express this enough: DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! Shame on you Huntington Pet Vet!

This vet office is completely incompetent. Came in today for my dogs first visit and waited 1-hour in a room. I went to the front desk to see what was going on and they said “ohh your appointment is at 4pm, not 3pm” Seriously? I left my office all the way in San Clemente early just to be there for this and you’re going to try to lie and say I had the time wrong? On top of that, they had my phone number completely wrong! If they can’t handle something as simple as scheduling, there’s no way in hell I am going to trust them with my beloved pet! We ended up just walking out; complete waste of time!

Dr Naito is Caring, compassionate and fair. She has been caring for my fur babies for almost 20 years. I still drive from Los Angeles for one of my dogs that's been seeing her since she was 2 months old.she's now 18. It has gotten very busy over the past years because she's such a good vet so sometimes you have to wait and you don't get as much personalit has gotten very busy over the past years because she's such a good vet so sometimes you have to wait and you don't get as much personal time but she's still a great vet.

Some times the wait can be very long even when you have appointments. The staff is nice. And unless you have the United Pet Care, the medication is pricey.

Please, please, please do yourself a favor and bring your fur baby in to Huntington Pet Vet! Each time, you'll walk away with full confidence that you provided the best care for your pet! Bonus: the prices for everything is ridiculously affordable!

Dr. Naito literally saved our Puma!

Our ragdoll, Puma, had a severe kidney problem with dangerous kidney values. Dr. Naito actually was the 5th doctor we meet with for this condition and assured us that Puma will be fine and saved her with minimal medical expenses. This vet is the sweetest, most compassionate, and loving vet you'll ever be privileged to meet. She truly listens and takes time with you and your pet. Dr. Naito is very thorough and attentive. She genuinely understands how to optimize your pet's health and wellness. We are eternally grateful to her!

Travis, her front office manager, aligns to the values of Huntington Pet Vet and Dr. Naito. He is always incredibly thoughtful and caring. He consistently delivers exceptional customer service and makes you feel well taken care of.

Prior to coming to Huntington Pet Vet, we had spent $4K+ across 3 providers (Cat Care Clinic in Orange, VCA Hospital, and Primary Care Animal Hospital in Long Beach) with 4 doctors. Each basically told us to get ready to say goodbye to our family fur baby. So happy that they were wrong and she is still happy and thriving 3 years later with all kidney levels of a normal, kidney-healthy cat!

***Bring your fur baby to Huntington Pet Vet! Highly highly recommended***

After taking my dog to multiple vets, misdiagnosing my dog and not able to figure out what's wrong with my dog, I was HIGHLY recommended this place. The vet here is AMAZING she knows her stuff and honest about everything. Its worth the long wait!

Do not recommend taking your pet here. The front desk staff is not very friendly or considerate of your time, money or pet.

Best doctors for your furbabies. Trying an experimental procedure for Blue's gum disease. Prp seems to be working for Blue. Which is huge as the alternative is pulling all his teeth. We have been coming here since 1990.

Prepare to wait but it's worth it. Prices are Fair and I got what I needed right away and will be coming back in couple weeks to fix my cat they just saw for something else. She knows her stuff and great with animals and the back room where she saw my cat was clean. The nurse was very detailed in the check out and take home instructions and medications given on the spot. Overall great prices and great vet! No complaints. Just have a book

Have been going to Dr. Naito since the early 1990s with my cats. Excellent vet, caring & very reasonably priced.

Been coming for 4 years, great care at a reasonable cost. My biggest complaint is the long wait times. Even if you have an appt expect to wait a half hour and then when you get a room, another 20 mins for the vet to see you. Still way better than alot of places but I hope they remedy the wait times.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. We highly recommend Huntington Pet Vet for your fur babies' needs. We'll update the experience after the service is used.
