Beautiful resort! Excellent location! Relaxed luxury resort with a fun California vibe. Beautiful, immaculate facilities and grounds. Plenty of meeting/conversation space. Refreshing pool and hot tub. Great food and drink. Superb, friendly and professional staff associates. The guestrooms are large and spacious. Very comfortable bedding. My guestroom included a refrigerator, microwave, safe, balcony and ceiling fan. The bathroom is average in size, but completely remodeled with nice upgrades. The resort's location is unbeatable. I and my colleagues really enjoy this resort when we visit Monterey. The Hyatt Regency receives my highest recommendation!

Lovely Stay! Check-in and check-out processes were super convenient. The staff was warm, friendly, and very helpful. The grounds were exquisite. Love the water conservation efforts! There were so many places designed to accommodate meetings and leisure activities. I only wish I had the time to golf this trip!

Monterey Hotel seamlessly combines luxury with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Nestled in the heart of the city, it offers quick access to local attractions while providing a peaceful retreat. Their ocean-view rooms are simply breathtaking. A definite gem in Monterey.

Horrible hotel. Do not stay here. Came here for a week to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and had one issue after another with our small old room. Walls are so thin you can hear everything above and next to you. The property is not kept up and also old. The fitness center is in a separate building very far from the rooms. I sent some laundry out and was charged $120 for a handful of items. I could go on and on, but want to let people know that if you are looking for a nice place to stay, do not choose this hotel! It is not a luxury resort and the cost is outrageous for what the hotel provides.

Marc with housekeeping was so friendly and helpful. I stopped him on the sidewalk outside of the hotel lobby to ask a question that didn’t have anything to do with his immediate job. …but he went out of his way to give us great advice on things to do near the bay. Not once did he may us feel like he was too busy. He didn’t have to do that! I felt a Great review was in order. We can’t wait to explore the area.
Monterey is beautiful! The native trees and plants are breathtaking. First visit to CA and I love it!

18 hole golf course. I paid about $85 per person (including cart). The golf course had the most par 4s. The course is quite difficult. Spacious, quiet and well maintained. The caddy who adjusts the speed kindly guides you. No animal excrement, clean. There are events at the hotel, and the facilities are well-maintained.especially. Family members used it a lot.

There are quite a few reasons to give this review more than 2 stars. However, I will begin with why it is a 2 star review. I checked in on my app before I started the 6 hr drive. I was offered to upgrade my room to include a balcony and larger sq footage, so I accepted. The "upgrade" placed us in a building where the rooms were on the 2nd and 3rd levels above their engineering department. We arrived late at night tired, walked in and immediately smelled something unpleasant that resembled varnish or some other toxic chemical. I woke up with a headache and we had an early start to our day. I noticed my headache was gone while we were away, and when we came back to the room, the smell was still there.and the headache immediately returned, so we called guest services. Immediately, the housekeeping manager came by and said that he would inform the engineering department to stop their project and resume it again after the holiday weekend when the building wouldn't be occupied. His solution worked, and we were pleased. Unfortunately, they were back at their project again the next day when we returned, so we had to ask again to have them pause, and they did.
Other aspects of our "upgrade" that were disappointing: an employee (perhaps not customer facing but from the engineering department) smoking in the path we needed to take to load our car, spider webs that were well established in the railing of the decking, only one chair on the balcony we "upgraded" to, the one chair in the expanded seating area of our larger room was in need of a deep surface clean. It looked like the equivalent of a severe case of ring around the collar.
Positive aspects of the stay: beds were comfortable, customer facing staff were all wonderful, had agency and followed through. The restaurant has a small but diverse menu that was delicious and accommodating. They had fun activities like scavenger hunts and smores by the fires, fun outdoor games, hammocks and swings.
In conclusion, I'm not sure why the engineering department needs to be working with such toxic substances, but no guests should ever be housed in the vicinity where chemicals are being used.

To snotty and rich for my poor blood, the employees where great. But to see these rich faces treat people like a second class citizen was enough. Grown men pouring drinks on employees was it for me.

Large property with 2 pools, fitness center, hammock garden, fire pits, ample EV charging and oh yeah, the golf course. Rooms are spacious although some parts (e.g. Carpet) feel a little worn. Overall a good experience, and staff were friendly and accommodating.

Beautiful place in a beautiful city. Not cheap but that's no surprise. Underrated well cared for golf course. Nice swimming pools, good restaurant. Nice place to get away

Loved the look of this hotel. Food is very pricey. Staff was nice and helpful. Location is very close to a major road so I imagine if your room is close to the road, it might get a little noisy. Our room was just fine, very quiet. Very close proximity to the airport (5 mins) and downtown monterey (about 7 mins).

Here is our overlook on our visit:

1) walls: contrary to many negative comments relating the thinness of the walls and how soundproof they are, i have to say that I had no problems with loud noises, neither was I disturbed by any door noises.

2) shower: the shower, shower hat and shower pressure were all perfectly fine. But we would have preferred a regular closable and lockable door for the bathroom. We perfectly managed to operate in this bathroom witch only one light switch

3) automatic under bed light sensor: the automatic light sensor under the bed has pros and cons. We found it quite practical, at it helped us to find our way at night without tripping over stuff.

4) stairs: the stairs were completely fine, but there was no separate elevator in every single building, wich didn’t pose a problem to us.

5) staff: all the staff we came in contact with was very kind and helpful.

The overall appearance of the hotel as well as the swimming pool and the fitness facilities were nice and proper.
The breakfast at the hotel was good, especially the juice maker.

Stayed at this Hyatt to visit the aquarium and must admit, it was one of my worst Hyatt experiences.

1) Noise issue: The doors and walls are paper-thin, allowing conversations of neighboring guests to be heard clearly. My child's afternoon nap was disrupted by loud cleaning staff in the hallway, who slammed doors incessantly. Remember to close your window before sleeping, as you might be woken up by the gas lawn mower at 7am like me.
2) Unrecovered lost item: After check-out, we left a baby's pillow on the bed. Upon inquiring the next day, the hotel staff said they hadn't found it and were unhelpful. It seems the pillow was either mixed with other pillows or discarded by subsequent guests, implying the cleaners didn't even notice it.
3) Water pressure: The bathroom's water pressure is excessively strong, exceeding California's 1.5gpm limit. The shower head, with at least 5gpm pressure, feels like it could power-wash a car. To reduce it, I had to use the massage mode.
4) No bathroom vent: The bathroom lacks a vent and has only one light switch. The bathroom cube is half covered, making the entire bathroom a sauna room after bath.
5) Under-bed nightlight sensor cannot be turned off, which can be disruptive for families with babies.
6) Accessibility: the elevator is tiny (fits two adults max). It's also situated far from the room, with only one mini elevator installed for every three buildings. The stairs, reminiscent of those in horror movies, are old and narrow.

An exception is the check-in process, which was smooth and efficient. They helped me with a early check-in and I appreciated it.

The location is also perfect, 10 minutes driving to most attractions in beautiful Monterey.

Very nice hotel with attached golf course. It is not the classic multi-storey hotel, but is distributed horizontally with rooms on the floor or at most on the first level. Beautiful outdoor spaces with braziers for a warm chat during the cool evenings. On the back you will also find an area equipped with ping pong, Cornhole, giant chess and more. The included breakfast is recommended as the hotel is located in a fairly deserted area.

If you stop at Monterey you have to stay at this hotel. It is very comfortable, the room are cleaned and the breakfast is super delicious. They have also the spa and the fitness center

Front desk lady (I didn't get her name, but she was a little heavy set). We checked in around eight o'clock 8-9-23. We asked questions, and she was very short with her responses like we were bothering her. When it came to billing, we were double charged when we called they told us to call our bank because they had no ideas or solutions to our situation.

If you're looking for average - this is your hotel. But be warned - unless you secure a top floor room, be prepared to hear the 'elephants' plodding around above you and causing almost as much nuisance as the rude guests in the hallways who are talking loudly.which the echo makes sound even worse. But those are not the biggest noise issues - the room doors are just terrible and unless carefully guided closed (rarely happens), make an almighty bang and this happens throughout the day and night and will wake you up. It would wake the dead.

We have not had a great experience staying here. The first room smelt of cigarettes and very musky, we were moved to another room and the mattress was wet, both issues were dealt with by house keeping, however no one seemed surprised or was apologetic, which makes me think these types of things happen all the time.

We only had 2 nights, stopping off on road trip, however we found the hotel too big and a 30-minute walk from the main town and Fisherman's Wharf. It is more suited for conferences and work related stays.

Wouldn't recommend for families on holiday wanting to investigate and explore the local area.
