Hyundai Corporation (USA), Torrance CA

We could not get our car into the local dealership for 2 months for safety recalls, they had no appointments available. We were driving for 3 months with the check engine light on because they have no time to fix our $50,000 car we bought new from them. They also changed their extended warranty protection and tried to stop covering the enhanced protection we purchased. On top of that, they are being stolen because of anti-theft device failures.

We decided to trade in our car and get a reliable Lexus. When we went to trade in the Hyundai, I called the finance 1-800 number. The agent said we had to make our payment even though the Lexus dealer was going to pay the loan off the next week. They said they would just issue the overage within a week. When I called to check on the processing of this a week after, the agent said Hyundai takes 30-60 days to process/review your account before they send the check for the overage.

Thanks for holding our $1,000 hostage for 2 months! We won't be buying any more Hyundai cars. They will take your money, but they won't fix anything on the new car, that is for sure.
