Something changed.compare with 3 years ago. Empty shelves everywhere. Especially bed cover items are mostly empty. I liked IKEA as many assortment of small items. But today was almost regret to drive until there. Maybe Covid-19 made this situation. Even food court items are limited.

Poor service for order cancelled, we ordered sofa and got notice that short of parts so we need to cancel the order, then nightmare began, we called 3-4 times to request status and they mentioned it's approved and will take 5-7 days to back to your bank account. 1 month after, nothing happened, we called and they said " the shop had to correct the amount of return" then another 2 weeks. We got a letter to ask us to show up in store to show original card we used. The return department person was "porker " face and w/o any explained and just said it will take 5-7 days to back to your account. No any apologize that made customer waiting. Never again to purchase without actually seeing the items. Poor service for IKEA Palo alto store.

Many of the furniture items I needed for my apartment was out of stock, which didn't upset me. What upset me was the lack of hospitality. The workers there were extremely rude and refused to provide help.

I have had better experiences there years ago, but because of the experience I had recently, tomorrow I am returning everything and will never shop there again. I understand that we are all suffering due to the pandemic, but that does mean people should forget their bedside manners.

A marvel of Swedish engineering and efficiency. If you're looking for something specific, look it up on the website first and ensure that it's in stock to save yourself some time.

Ikea has friendly staff. Everyone was very polite and nice. The cafe staff was helpful and managed the lines really well.

Such a waste of time! 4 out of the 5 things I chose were out of stock. Why would you have so many items in display that you do not carry? Take them off the show room or put a D@$! % sign saying they are unavailable! 2 hours of my day totally wasted. The items are not available online either.

Terrible service. There were no carts available, even though 50 people were lined up waiting for them, no store employees in sight. Near checkout counters, a staff member helplessly watched performance meters on a computer screen going into the "red zone" but could do nothing to improve the situation. Computers to look up inventory in the warehouse were so slow it seemed broken.

Generally long checkout lines (bring headphones or toys for kids), make sure you check stock online before showing up. <5 of smaller things means they probably won't have it.

Got help to do a laundry refresh using kitchen cabinets. Michael was absolutely awesome, really really helpful, and thought through some of my 'complications' in great detail.
Amazing service even though the store was crazy busy!

I waited 3 hours for a return. My friends were able to shop the whole place, get food, and finish dessert before I got to return it. So slow. They should call this place NOkea, Because you get no thing done

Shopping at Ikea is a test on your self restraint! Most will fail miserably like us for sure. As much as you like to spend walking through the showroom, you don't want to be stuck with long lines, bored employees on the delivery/ pick up / return sections. By far the word to experience you can have at IKEA. You can escape the delivery for $30 extra. And it feels like they purposefully make it worthwhile by doing such a bad job with the line

You should avoid going to this IKEA at all costs - limited stock, extremely messy showroom, and some of the slowest checkout lines I’ve ever experienced, anywhere. If you do decide to go, plan on spending at least 90 minutes in line to pay for your cardboard furniture.

This furniture store is our favorite breakfast spot ;) We live close by and a breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage and country potatoes for $1 including coffee is tough to beat. I usually judge and recommend based on performance/price. While performance is not stellar at all, the pricing is so attractive that the measure turns into a 5 star rating.
Talking about furniture, there is nothing we found anywhere close in stylish furniture at a comparable price. There are high-end Scandinavian furniture stores with nicer furniture and 3-5x pricing. We are experts setting up IKEA furniture and have moved many times with 95% of the IKEA stuff making it through 8 moves in 10 years.
So, overall quality very good, pricing great, parking limit-line painful but manageable.
Back when there was no IKEA in the Bay Area we drove all the way to Burbank to go IKEA shopping. That probably says enough.
If you are looking for "old American dark furniture", do not go to IKEA.

I would go to their canteen, order and eat their Swedish Meatballs and Chocolate Cake. They're amazing. The only complaint I have is that I have to go around the Showroom to exit the building. There is no direct exit from the cafeteria.

They mistakenly charged me $50 more, so when I found it, I went there. After a whole day waiting, they just didn’t solve the problem because the office hour is over. Excuse me? The manager is rude and not responsible, definitely unhelpful. The worst IKEA ever, go to the one in Emeryville.

Unfortunately had a really bad experience today at IKEA the lines at the cash registers were 20 customers deep with only 3 registers open out of 26? It took about 30 minutes to check out also when I had to go pick up a purchase at the furniture pickup area there were some issues and it took over 90 minutes to get my furniture, unacceptable customer service!

It's Ikea, what's to complain? It's crowded, it's sometimes hard to find your way through to the exit, it's hard to find parking on weekends but all these are things that every location they have would experience. I give 5 Stars coz I go only when I know what I want and find its location, pick it up and get out. So I don't have anything to complain. Oh I never skip their meatballs and potatoes, just the best Mall food ever!

I would rate it 0 stars if I could, the waiting times in the East Palo Alto store are abysmal. 1h for a return that takes 3 minutes to process? 30-45 minutes at the checkout? If you don't want my money I'll keep it, thanks. Not coming back anytime soon.

Store was very poorly organized, they need more attention to merchandising, the store looked a mess and it was a Wednesday morning (not peak time). All employees were rude and very short especially the cashier. I will not shop here again.

Very crowded in the weekend with lines to pay, eat, and childcare, but good prices and selection. Love the $1 frozen yogurt cones!
