Ike's Love & Sandwiches, San Diego CA

Ordered through Uber Eats. Both sandwiches clearly show as being ordered and paid for. It’s takes Ikes over an hour to even make the food. They then hand half the order to our delivery person. So we waited almost an hour and a half for half the food. Completely unacceptable.

Food is great. Low review due to the length of time it takes for this location to prepare food. After three times here, I can say the wait is about an hour. I place my orders online through their app/ website. The first time was a Saturday, the iPad was “rebooting” so they didn’t get my order. It was a fluke, right? Wrong. Second and third times were during the week and still took a long time. There is always 5+ people waiting outside for their food. Do not go here if you’re on a time crunch.

We love Ike's, we been coming here for years now. We tend to drive to Sports Arena location over Hillcrest even though it's further because the quality of the subs is superior, actually made with love.

We stopped again at this location for take out and our subs came dripping in sauce. Subs are slapped together.
Maybe because it's a busier location?
Please use light sauce on some subs, no one wants a soggy piece of bread.

Employees are always super nice.

Food is great but is very understaffed. Prepare to wait 10 minutes before having your order even heard.

Ike's is awesome. It's a unique one for me, because they don't taste like a normal sandwich. Ike's has managed to make something special and make it delicious. If you want the concept of a sandwhich changed a bit and still made delicious go here. Order something different, you will like like. Put the sauce on it. Go vegetarian, have the green Chile's on the chicken. Let Ike's do what Ike's does and you will be happy. One of the only delis I will ever order vegetarian at. Plus Halal chicken sammies!

I went here today for lunch. I had the 111 it was phenomenal. It took about 25 minutes for my sandwich but the wait was worth it. They are obviously short staffed. The staff was EXTREMELY professional and were busting their tails to get the food out as fast as possible. Mad respect to the staff and I will be back for sure.

STAY AWAY. The BIGGEST PROBLEM with this place is the amount of meat they give you and the cost of the sandwich. For example I spent $16 for A beef barbecue sandwich. For that kind of money, I figured there should be at least 6 to 7 oz of meat there was barely 3 oz I walked away feeling very hungry and completely ripped off. If I could, I give it 0 stars. Never Again

Brother bought this for me so I tried it once. NEVER AGAIN. I will never entertain or allow anything like that near or around me. I have to be careful. My brother and the food were creepy. No one is listening and I have no help because people refuse to do the right thing. THANK YOU.

I’ve ordered here over 20 times, different orders each time. Ike’s just isn’t good as far as consistency, quality, and ratios. There is a major lacking in the bread quality—every single time I eat here my bread is soggy, even with any wet toppings on the side. It’s a bummer because I love what Ike’s is about, but this location AND the downtown one are not comparable to local delis or Big Front Door on Park. It’s also a bummer because the prices have just gone up and quality down.

I’ve also tried all of their fried items and none are ever crispy, not exaggerating everytime they’ve been soggy and I’ve only had luck once when I ate one immediately and it was too hot for my mouth, but I wanted the crisp *sigh*. Oil is NOT changed often enough and that’s a big factor—oily, rancid tasting side items for $5 isn’t cool, guys.

I do enjoy that they give you a free lollipop and carry fun drinks, plus VooDoo chips just rock my socks, adding them inside the sandwich is a power move.

Waited 35 minutes for sandwiches because someone didn't take down my name correctly. Won't be back this dysfunctional place.

Put in an order at 11: 45, by 12: 45 I had to have them refund me and left hungry. No idea if their sandwiches are good or not, but I do know I'll never go here during lunch again.

Ordered 12 sandwiches online as a work lunch, placed at 11: 15 AM. Estimated time to finish was 12: 54. Tried calling to see if we could get get them earlier, but the phone went to straight to a full voice mailbox all of the dozen times we tried over 15 min. Whatever, we arrive about 15 min early just in case they were done early - nope, hadn’t even started working on them yet. 1: 15 rolls around and still not ready, the lady at the front makes the excuse that there’s only 3 of them and they have to make the sandwiches in the order they were received. Well, you received our order TWO HOURS AGO. And we’re still waiting.

Inexcusable, will not order from this location again.

Apparently the workers here don't understand their own online ordering system. When ordering online for pickup, if you click "ASAP" it has an estimated pickup time. However, the workers here WAIT until that estimated pickup time to start making the order instead of making it As Soon As Possible. Why order ASAP if it's not made ASAP!?
And the worker gave me attitude and told me I was "early" even tho I ordered ASAP

We were so unhappy with the service and our food from this place.
We ordered online based on the time frame it was quoted to us, once we recieved at store to pick up our sandwiches, not only our food was not ready, but also had to wait additional 20 minutes to get our food.
Our sandwiches were a mess, all my food was out on the paper wrap.
We are very disappointed with the service and our food quality at your location.

I waited almost an hour when the estimated wait time was 35 minutes. Great sandwiches but they need to reevaluate their wait times for online orders. They also don’t allow you to wait inside and it was extremely hot outside today.

Great sandwiches but prepare for a wait due to some staffing issues. It's best to order online and put your order in well in advance.
