Il Fornaio reviews
24I often hangout in Palo Alto and never tried this restaurant, so glad it did! I definitely will back there again. Food, service and price was good. Hummmm still miss this amazing pasta that works well with Pinot Noir.
While it is a chain restaurant it still has a very distinct and authentic Italian taste and splendour. Ordered Seafood platter, seabass and pasta pomodoro.all were good although portion of shareable appetizer was more like a sample for 2 people.
Wine selections are limited but the ones they have provide good pairings
Sat at bar. Given a taste of a new, for me, red wine. Then chose one I knew better. Had beautifully presented bread and soup
Well known Italian chain eatery in Palo Alto. Interior looks quite tired and staff looks quite busy). Food is eatable but don’t think to come again.
A wonderful Sunday brunch off the menu. We had a large table set up for our large party was set up in advance, which made it nice and convenient. The food was outstading- as was the service!
Excellent service with indoor and outdoor seating! They have a good happy hour menu and at a reasonable price too. Their regular dinner menu is has all the great dishes, and there is always a special menu with excellent dishes from different parts of Italy. I've been coming here ever since I was a kid with my family, and for the most part, everything is the same, which is fine with me, because it was working then and still working now, don't change a thing. They have a great brunch menu as well, and the outdoor seating is a perfect place to sit for brunch, or even on a nice summer night. This is excellent for large groups, even though I mainly see couples and groups of 4-6. The staff is all extremely nice and professional, and they definitely take notice if they recognize you from previous times.
This place used to be so much better. A group of us came in with reservations and were practically ignored. We had to wait 45 minutes to place our orders. No one came around taking drink orders. The food then took 30 minutes to arrive, barely warm. Paying the bill at the end took forever as well.
Service slow and poor. Food average.
They need to improve on many levels.
Had the pork chop on their specials menu tonight. It was a fantastic Niman Ranch pork chop. It’s available only for two weeks. 1/6 to 1/19.
My whole table ordered the pork chop entree from the specials menu. It was so delicious that we inquired into how it was prepared. They told us it was from Niman Ranch.now we know their secret.everywhere I've had Niman Ranch meats they are so quality that I just order that. Great job Il Fornaio. I'll be back for more of that!
Large venue with myriad dining spaces, but noise invades adjoining rooms. Otherwise very good service.
Fully unremarkable, in service, ambiance, and food quality. Essentially Olive Garden for the next tax bracket up. Not really sure why I went here.
Food was quite ok though not great. Antipasti were tasty. Service was friendly though inattentive - we were frequently missing required silverware.
Authentic Italian restaurant with good quality food. My personal favorite is the Salmon alla Grille - Grilled Salmon with salad and Yukon potatoes. They have a good drink menu aswell.
We were going to Il Fornaio in Palo Alto for years! They have great food and service is always perfect. Sunday brunch offers some special choices like omelets with smoked salmon, goat cheese and asparagus.
They are open all day and you can come for a meal, dessert or to get a drink.
They have indoor and outdoor seating, friendly to kids and pets. The restaurant is very quiet and is good for meetings and family gatherings.
As Italian as it can get in America. Very good service and tasty dishes. Sharing concept is best as choosing is hard.
Not good. Poor quality food ingredients, not cooked sufficiently, filthy place, too many flies, etc. The so called painting that was hanging beside our table had several disgusting food residue spots. The waiter was nice though.
Really great service, they gave us an outdoor booth and turned on the heaters because it was too noisy inside. Really warm friendly service.
The food was good. Not great but good. But the service was great! Very attentive. Never had an empty cup, they were very friendly and helpful. I loved the service.
The food was really good and fresh. Service was nice and helpful. The lasagna was ok, could have used a tad more tomato sauce on the inside of it. The Regatoni were really good, freshly cooked and tasty. Was perfectly al dente! Would totally recommend!
This restaurant is by far the most beautiful restaurant I have been too. There is alot of room and the out door seating it nice too. Menu is a little pricy but we'll worth it. Definitely would recommend to try
