Six weeks ago, I started this challenge not realizing that I'd feel so amazing.
I managed to lose 7.8 % body fat and 10 lbs in six weeks which means that I got through the challenge for free. Well I say free but in exchange, I channeled a lot of energy into it that was well worth it. The coaches were great in providing advice and encouraging me through the ups and downs. The classes were very involved, helpful and engaging. I got better at using my body to punch and kick a bag. The diet they provided was not crazy and pushed me to be healthier and mindful of what I put in my body. If you're looking for a way to get back into shape or you just need to change up your routine for the better, this six week challenge is for you

I went to ILKB Poway looking for a place to let out some aggression. The day I went was the last day to sign up for a 6 week challenge, so I saw it as a sign to sign up. I wasn't trying to lose weight, I did want to gain muscle and tone up so my challenge was to decrease my body fat to a healthier number and I did!

Going to ILKB Poway has not only helped give me a safe space to let out some aggression, it has helped me to lose weight, & gain muscle definition. It has helped my mental health and wellness and cultivated new relationships for this introvert.

Finished the 6 week challenge, and though I did not meet my goal, I did gain a new sense of confidence and some muscle. I loved every single class and could not have asked for better coaches. Their energy throughout was exactly what I needed to keep going. The diet was a fun challenge, and though at times seemed monotonous, it did really expand my horizons into different seasonings and marinades. Both the workouts and the diet helped get my hunger cues in check. Aside from weightloss and fat loss, I've also seen improvements in my stress management and sleep. Alll in all a very enjoyable experience.

Without a doubt, the best fun workout where you control the effort, so you control the calorie burn. Great instructors, great energy from class, great way to get rid of life's frustrations one hit at a time

Participating in the 6WC at ILKB Poway was one of the best decisions that I made so far this year! The coaches are knowledgeable, supportive, and motivating while providing challenging workouts to push yourself. I enjoyed coming to my classes each week and it served as a transformative space for me where I was able to notice positive changes within my physical physique (stamina, strength, muscle gain, weight and fat loss) and emotional well-being. The studio has a very welcoming environment filled with positive energy and community. Be prepared to sweat during class while having fun at the same time. The music playlist is definitely a nice addition as it helps keep you in the zone. If you enjoy group cardio classes and want to join one that revolves around kickboxing, I highly recommend you give ILKB Poway a try!

When I started the 6 week challenge, I really didn’t know what I was getting into and how it would impact me. I was already an active person, but active at my own pace. The workouts force you to push yourself, and the diet tests your will. Ultimately, the coaches can point you in all the right directions, but I knew that it would all come down to me and my commitment to my goals. When an instructor would challenge us with a more difficult workout, I took it. When a tub of fried chicken was rubbed in my face (thanks honey), I turned my nose to my own baked chicken breast. I’ll be honest: I really missed food. So much to the point that nightly I was dreaming about it. But I could feel the changes in my digestive health get better as I went on. No more chronic stomach aches, no more random energy drops. I was even able to start eating eggs regularly where before I assumed I had an allergy to them because of how bad they would hurt my stomach. Eventually, the desire for greasy food stopped. I still had certain cravings, but the attachment I had to takeout was completely gone by the end of the challenge.

Trying to track progress during the middle of the challenge is tricky – especially if you’re a person who obsessively looks in the mirror everyday scanning for changes like me. One day I could feel super confident after looking at myself, but it could be hours later that I’d start feeling bad because my self-image fluctuates. I struggle with OCD and this is one of the ways it affects me. One of the ways I cope with this is by reminding myself that the body changes throughout the day due to many factors. And even while I did this, I found that I had to reassure myself less often. I found that the same shirts I wore everyday didn’t cause me to question myself anymore. My pants became too big, so I had to switch over to pants I always cringed at before putting on because it would always be a tight fit – but not anymore. I even needed a belt. So even when my mental illness blinded me to my progress, these little factors constantly showed me that I was making progress and subconsciously boosted my confidence.

The workouts themselves were rough but extremely gratifying. I had already had experience with the ILKB workouts before so I knew what I was getting into, including the feeling of success! Each workout challenges you, no matter how long you’ve been doing it. The instructors were amazing and uniquely brought things to their classes.

At the end I lost about 13 lbs, 7.5% body fat, and gained 4% muscle mass. This put me at 128 lbs, 32.4% BF, and 29% muscle. Going forward from here, I’m super grateful to be eating food less strict, but I’m also motivated to eat well just because of how my body, mind, and energy improved. I’ve found myself obsessed with high-protein recipes and have gathered a list of things I want to try and make regular meals for my life. I’m much more selective at the grocery store now that I have left with knowledge about what I’m putting into my body and I can still feel the effects of good eating. The nutritional knowledge you leave with alone is worth the risk you put down with the deposit because it shows you a guide to use for the rest of your life.

I joined the 6 week challenge (“6WC”) at ILKB Poway. The instructors are awesome and will literally get your butt in shape. At the start I could not wrap my head around what I had just committed to. Little did I know that I would enjoy hitting the kickboxing gym not once, or even twice, but three times a week. The last 2 weeks of my challenge I attended 9 out of 14 days which says a lot. The energy in the gym is rewarding. I didn't meet my fat loss goal of 6%p, however, I lost 5.3% body fat, lost some pounds and GAINED muscle. I FEEL GOOD! THIS IS A WIN! It’s a stress reliever and fun.

I have been coming to ILKB for over 2 years now. It's my happy place, I feel stronger after every workout. I get excellent tips on how to maintain a healthier life style and how to keep moving forward on my workout journey. Coaches are excellent, great good quality people whom I trust they have my back on my journey to a healthier/stronger me, I see results, I do the work which it what matters when choosing any physical activity.

Free 6 weeks challenge which they are advertising is only free in certain conditions - if you loose certain percentage of body fat. Since they put the hold on your card in the case you don’t hit the target they take your money (we are talking about $600). This is very stresful way of loosing weight and i would not recommend. Also be very careful before signing the contract. It is all about making profit for them.

I love Kickboxing! I joined ILKB after a 6 week challenge and have had an amazing experience so far! The coaches are incredibly inspiring and supportive, always pushing me to do my best and encouraging me to improve my technique. Everyone is also super friendly and welcoming, making me feel at home from the moment I walked in. I have seen a huge improvement in my fitness level and overall confidence since joining, and I am grateful to continue my healthy journey with ILKB. If you're looking for a fun, challenging workout with an amazing community of people, I highly recommend giving this kickboxing gym a try!

I took only two classes.but I already loved kickboxing.trainers are awesome, they kept u busy for one hour.it’s totally worth it.

Shady sales tactics. Be careful not to make a mistake or they will call you out and laugh at you (lol) on their Facebook page. Gave me protein powder which I thought was part of the challenge and then charged my credit card (which I've had to cancel) 3 weeks later without informing me. One staff member took a class and talked all the way through so I had to move closer to the instructor to hear. Said they would help me wrap my hands and never did which could be unsafe. Wrote (reweigh) on my contract and started with numbers that were questionable. I don't know how I could have lost 3% body fat in a week before I started the challenge.maybe that's a thing. I assume that if the staff behave this way then management do too, so I fully expect a defensive response to this review. However, it's an honest review. Not one that I'm contractually obliged to make, like most of the reviews on here. Refused to refund me so they must be hurting for money. Notice I didn't call out anyone by name in this review? Because I'm not here to personally attack or make anyone feel bad (unlike what they did to me on a public forum).

Talk about a challenging workout! Losing 16 lbs and 6.3% body fat over 6 weeks feels AMAZING! I gained 4% muscle over this time as well. I have never done kickboxing until now and it was a phenomenal experience. The classes are structured with not just punching the bag, but also fundamental body weight strategies to get you in good shape! I was doing this after my newborn daughter was 2 months old. The energy in the class is just so motivating and you can go at your own pace. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking to do something that is trying to get into shape or maintain it. So much fun!

I joined ILKB for a lot of reasons but their 6wk challenge is what really enticed me. All of the instructors are very welcoming and motivating. I love that each coach has their own personality style, music preferences and workouts so I never get board. Rachael is always gonna get my cardio in and lots of burpees. Summer is always smiling and very motivating, also puts in a tough class with some laughs. Gaia will never ease up. Doesn't matter who teaches, they're all good. If you need motivation to make yourself stronger and healthier, change your bad habits, develop a lifestyle change and don't mind making some new friends along the way, then this is the place for you. Come in ready to work hard, sweat a lot, and make a difference.

Update: I just finished the 8wk Personal Nutrition Coaching Program and I couldn't be happier with the results. I lost 13.6lbs and learned many great, new, habits to build upon and set myself up for success in the long run. To anyone who thinks nutrition isn't as important as working out, I challenge you to do the nutrition coaching. I guarantee you'll learn a thing or two!

I am so grateful I found ILKB Poway. I completed their 6 week challenge and even though I did not meet the original goal, I still lost 3% body fat and gained 2% muscle! I have learned healthy lifestyle habits and am still transforming my body one step at a time. But, the best thing about this place is the people! The coaches and the other kickboxers are all so positive and supportive. I recommend this place to anyone who is feeling low and has been wanting to change but hasn’t had the motivation yet. You will be motivated to come here!

I just completed a 6 week challenge at I Love Kickboxing and I loved it! The workout were fun and challenging and I pushed myself harder than I would have on my own. All of the coaches were awesome and different each adding their own style to the class. My body made such a big transformation and gave me the confidence and knowledge to continue my fitness goals. Also they added Impact wraps which helped to elevate the quality of my workouts! Overall it is a clean and friendly environment that I would recommend!
