Indochino, Santa Monica CA

Over the past year and a half (or so), my husband has bought three suits at Indochino in Santa Monica, CA. After our last experience, we decided to take my son there for his own custom suit before his wedding in March. We went today and met up with Ky, who also handled my hubby’s last appointment (his first suit was selected with Duranson, who was also fantastic). What an amazing experience! Ky made this day so special with his wonderful customer service and professionalism. He made some great recommendations, but left the decisions for my son to make. We can’t wait to see the suit when it arrives. We know the quality will be outstanding and my son will look great on his wedding day. Thank you to Indochino and Ky for making this process seamless and fun!

You can’t buy anything in store you have to order it all online even if you’re in person it’s kind of a dumb concepts not to offer both options. I just needed a simple tie and was told no.

Took advantage of the incredible Black Friday weekend sale this year to add a few more Indochino custom fitted suits to the collection!

After being impressed with my first investment and experience this year at another location decided to go local this time and show some love to Santa Monica.

Fortunately, I was helped by Ky who exuberated stellar salesmanship in a world where its no longer to be found.

With his keen sense of acuity I was able to navigate and select a variety of jackets and pants to really elevate my suit game.

Worst Experience. NOT tailor made. Not Custom made. Not made to fit. Not Luxury. Not a real suit.
Check the suits before placing orders. They are not tailor made. They do not use canvas under the fabric. The fabric is not 100% wool even if it says so. They do not know how to measure you. Cheapest quality suits i have ever seen, which you can buy at Downtown LA for $100 is being presented as tailor made and made to fit at a price of $600.
I ordered two suits and 5 shirts. I selected the most expensive fabric (luxury). The manager Kyle measured me. It was around 6: 00 p.m. And he was already measuring someone else. He started measuring me at 6: 30 while entertaining two other customers. Between 6: 30 and 7: 00 p.m, he measured 3 people and closed the store at 7: 00. He told me that these were fully canvased and tailor made suits. He assured me everything would look perfect.
After a month, the suits arrived. They were simply AWFUL. They were two sizes too small. Nothing was measured right. The pants was too short, the waist was 3 inches too small; the fabric felt like polyester. It did not feel like you were wearing a suit.
Nothing, I mean nothing, in the jacket was measured right. I wear a size 44 or 46. The jacket felt as if it were size 40-42 and was made for a teenage boy. How can someone who is the manager of the store and is supposedly trained to measure people, make such gross and inexcusable errors in measurement is incomprehensible.
The whole purpose of a custom made suit is to have the suit fit your body perfectly. If they are going to alter a standard size 46 suit to fit me at the store, then I can do the same thing by buying a suit at Macy’s nor Nordstrom and have it altered. Ironically, they do not even do that. They shipped me a suit 2 sized too small and would try to make it fit my body.
If I wanted to buy a cheap polyester suit that is two size too small and then have some alteration lady destroy the design and fit and make it fit my body, I would have shopped at Ebay. I was under the impression that they tailor make the suit to fit my body. I was led to believe that they can offer the tailor made suit at around $600 instead of $2,000 because the tailoring was done in China. I was wrong. The tailoring was done in China but they do not cut and sew according to your measurements. They make bulk quality suits at standard sizes and then when they arrive here, they say we are sorry but we can alter it and make it fit you by letting out fabrics from every corner of the suit. Essentially, an alteration lady, who is not a real tailor, make the suit look like it fits you but this is not a custom or tailor made suit to fit your body. This is a con job to give you an impression of a suit made for you. You are far better off to go to your favorite store and buy a suit off the rack and have it altered to the extent you need. If they had sold me a suit that fit me and then wanted to fix the details, it would have been somewhat closer to reality an their false representation, but trying to alter a suit that is size 40 or 42 to fit someone who wears a 46 is a joke. That is not made to fit. It is a con job that makes you like you are wearing your teenage son’s suit.
Basically, they make misrepresentations and empty promises. The cost of their suits, based on what I have seen now, is no more than $100 for them. They might spend some money on an alteration lady that they have in store, so the cost of the suit is about $150. They sell it for around $650 or $500 on sale. Their margin is so high that they do not care if they have to take some of the suits back, refund your money or whatever else that they try to do to keep your money. Whatever it is that they do or claim in their advertisement, they do NOT offer custom-made or made to fit or custom tailored suits. The product is technically a suit but it is not a real suit. It is a cheaply made garment that resembles a suit on the internet but it is completely useless and unwearable.

Was looking forward to my consultation for my wedding, but was very underwhelmed with the team member’s enthusiasm and insight provided. This was unfortunate because I really like the energy that the brand displays on IG.

When I initially purchased two suits, I encountered an issue with the pants fitting too small. Despite requesting alterations, the person assisting me at the time claimed they were already tailored to fit and could not be further adjusted.

This was disappointing, as I had been fitted for a suit tailored to my body. Consequently, I had uncomfortably tight, short pants. Eventually, I decided to invest extra money in getting new pants and undergoing another fitting. Surprisingly, Duran, the gentleman who assisted me, empathized with my dissatisfaction and willingness to pay extra for a proper fit.

After reviewing my file, he assured me, "Don't worry, we can fix it. If we can't, we will redo your pants without additional charges. " This left me content, knowing that my pants would be corrected without any extra expense.

During the subsequent fitting, the pants fit exactly as I had anticipated, finally conforming to my expectations. I felt exceptionally pleased that Duran had addressed the fit issue, helping me regain confidence in Indo-Chino. I now look forward to returning for future suit purchases.

I extend my gratitude to Duran for managing the fit and rectifying the situation. He has not only restored my trust but also earned my recommendation to friends.

If you are in the Santa Monica area and are looking for a suite, I recommend you stop at the store and get it with them.

I purchased a "custom" suit for my nephew to wear for his wedding from the Indochino store located in Santa Monica. All was going well, we liked what was presented and proceeded with the purchase. At the first fitting, the sleeves and pants were too short and the pants legs were too wide. At the second fitting, one of the sleeves was too short and one of the pant legs too short. The manager helping us said they looked fine to him so I asked for a tape measure and measured each sleeve and leg and sure enough, one leg and one sleeve was shorter than the other by at least half an inch! At the third fitting (which I did not attend), one of the pants leg was burnt/ripped. The same manager told my nephew that he would put a rush to get another pair of pants which were to arrive a week before his wedding! The pants did not come. The manager who had been helping us was now unavailable to speak with us. I was told by the acting manager that the manager would call me the next day. I expressed concern about time being of the essence since we're now less than a week for the wedding. Having not received a call, I called back and again asked for the manager. The acting manager called the manager who told him to tell us to have the groom wear the pants as no one would see the burn/rip! I asked for a refund and was told I'd only get a refund for the pants. I reminded him that this "custom" suit was for a wedding! I asked to speak to a 'higher up' manager but was only given a first name and no number! My nephew ended up having to wear the "custom" suit due to lack of time to get another. For a "custom" suit and for it to be worn at a wedding, this was a horrible experience and there was nothing "custom" about it. Also, one of the waist tabs came out! I never received a return call from the manager or the manager's manager. Outside of saying they would replace the pants (which I have yet to receive), there was no other attempt to make this right.
UPDATE: We received the pants - after THREE fittings and measurements, the right pant leg is shorter than the left! Unbelievable! I wanted to give my nephew the experience of a custom suit for his wedding and it turns out we would have been better off getting a suit in DTLA and having it tailored like his groomsmen whose non-custom suits looked great and for a fraction of the cost!

So you get what you pay for I suppose. I purchased a suit for my sisters wedding. The process was decent and the staff is helpful however a major pain point is the alterations. I received my suit promptly after two weeks from my appt. When the suit arrived my pants were extremally tight. I brought them in to get remeasured and everybody was pretty helpful.

This is my only issue with this company, I was told two weeks to retailor my pants but never got a confirmation email or phone call when the pants were finished. I was told that they had called me but I double checked my messages and never received any call. I ended up calling a week before my sisters wedding and picked up my pants. They are still tight in my calves and I am nervous they will break but I don't have confidence in the communication and will just have to risk my pants ripping. Overall the price is decent for a full suit and the staff is great in person but the communication is not great. I really wish the website would send you updates on the status of your alterations.

Kyle was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to assist me with measurements and proper fit and style. I would highly recommend this location and Kyle specifically. Looking forward to receiving my new suit.

Had an amazing experience with Stephan at Indochino! He helped me through all the ins and outs of deciding what suit would best fit me. He was patient and gave some great advice to make sure I looked my best. Cant wait to try on the suit and see the results! Highly recommended if you're looking for a new, perfectly fit and tailored suit.

Had a great experience with Stefon. Gave me thorough explanations and recommendations. Never rushed me during my in store visit and was incredibly helpful with my phone call to the store to order when I was ready. Would definitely work with again.

TURN AROUND — take your business elsewhere. Absolute joke. Their employees don’t know how to take measurements. I paid to come in person to get measured and took the time to go in. Weeks later I received my package from China, the custom shirt didn’t even button around my cuffs it was so tight and the shirt didn’t even come down to my wrist. I was told to go back in and get remeasured for a remake. The second guy taking my measurement agreed the original one was terribly measured. Another few weeks later I received my second package from China except this time the Monogram is ON MY CHEST, rather than the cuff like I selected and the first one had. We are now at 8 weeks and still no shirt. In the interim I went elsewhere to get a shirt made. Their customer service felt a fair way to compensate me for my time, additional
Purchases, inconvenience of multiple trips to the store, and payment for wrong measuring was to give me a $25 voucher. Which would require me to spend more money since there isn’t a single items under $25. I wouldn’t spend another dollar at INDOCHINO. Place is a joke. Skip them and go to Nordstrom next door. You can buy a shirt and suit and get it tailored for much cheaper and have a company that will at least support their costumers and pride themselves on their custom work.

SANTA MONICA IS THE WORST PLACE EVER and KYLE has thee WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I will be in COURT WEDNESDAY MORNING.

I got “custom tailored” suit but the fit ended up looking terrible when I got my suit. I went for a final look check in but the employee was completely disinterested in helping me in any way, just said it looks fine and didn’t let me make any changes.

Came in (by appointment) for a wedding suit.
Jacob was friendly and efficient, providing personal insight on the fabric and styles available at the Santa Monica location.
I would definitely come again when looking for another suit.

Durandson is the absolute best. Such a great experience from him on my 4th suit or 5th suit from Indochino. Get your fitting from him. I can't wait to go back and get a new sports coat for work.

I made my first appointment at the Santa Monica Place store for last week. The online appointment process was very straightforward and I was able to book the date and time that was convenient for me. When we arrived, we were greeted by Kai (or Ky?) who confirmed my appointment and got started with details for my custom suit. The selection and fitting process was seamless and we were finished and out the door in about half an hour (we had expected that the entire process would take an hour). Kai was very helpful and made the fitting appointment a very pleasant experience. I would recommend IndoChino and especially the Santa Monica Place store to anyone looking for a custom suit.
