InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco, an IHG Hotel

Amazing Environment, hotel is clean. Parking is available in the courtyard for check in, unloading the luggar and loading it back at checkout. Only one way to drive in from the main entrance at corner of Mason & California Steet, and one way to drive out on California Street.

Staff is polite, helpful and knowledgeable.

Rooms, halls, elevator is clean. Elevator gets busy at checkout times, otherwise its fast, few seconds for from lobby to floor 10th.

Rooms are spacious, good normal size bathroom, bathtub, walkin closet, mini fridge.

Ice vending machine is not on every floor.

Parking is valet only, super expensive at $72 per night. Cheaper Garages are available, SFMTA at Stockton St with $42 max, & $20 between 6pm-9am, two blocks away.

Hotel is on top of Nob Hill, so its uphil from all four sides. Seriously uphill.

Breakfast is fantastic in the main restaurant, and there are lovely drinks available at the bar. The hotel's service is excellent, with workers eager to assist with any need. Everyone should check it out!

You guys are so amazing. We got in early and our room was ready. We literally dropped in to just check our bags with the bellman and you checked us in. So above and beyond! Our stay was outstanding! Clean, comfortable, friendly people. One of my favorite hotels ever. The opening windows were a definite plus too.

Old bldg but well maintained. Attentive and friendly staff. Breakfast at the restaurant can be better. Some foods were served in plastic container even for dine in.

Yes, the hotel is amazing, with it's stunning architectural detail, generally fabulous location, and a great bed/linens. But what made my 3 night stay was the staff.
Aman at the front desk was an absolute DREAM! Then every morning I'd start my day with with a lovely greeting from Raffy & RJ, inquiring about my previous day, while assisting me with my vehicle, and every evening I'd come back to Sal or Tony, who were so incredibly kind & enjoyable to talk to. There were a few others, the short blad gent who worked with Sal, he was great, and there young woman who got my ice daily. Everyone was so kind. They were all so kind, but most importantly they were ALL GENUINELY GREAT PEOPLE!
I cried at check out, that's how much I enjoyed my stay. Your hotel is nice.

I park right in front of the hotel and my car got broken into it, they say why you din’t park in front of the hotel? Because they charge like $80 per n if the for parking alone, anyways what a mess and a bad experience, I had to put duct tape in my window and drive all the way to Florida

This place looks like it was maybe a luxury hotel in the 1960s and hasn’t been renovated since. Step one foot in the elevator and you’ll see what I mean. The rooms are no better.

For $ 74 valet they have to do complete cleaning of your car. Fill up full tank and charge up (if you have EV) 100%. Seriously? The price for a room is half! On the next street you can leave your car for two days cheaper. The room is not worth the money, the maximum is $ 60. Don't recommend.

Highly recommend this hotel. It's a quint, elegant hotel. It feels updated and refreshed while also maintaining a classical quality to it. We were upgraded to a room with a beautiful view of the city and partial bay for only $20 extra a nice. The room was an appropriate size with a mini fridge. The bathroom felt new and updated with granite countertops. I also appreciated how seriously they took cleanliness in the midst of the pandemic; to clean your room, you book an appointment a day in advance and they do an excellent job of upkeep. The location is overall a good location, but there is some walking distance to certain locations (Union Square, Fisherman Wharf). However, the surrounding neighborhoods are really nice to walk through so no issues.

However, what set this place apart for me was the excellent level of service. During one of our nights there, my wife was feeling ill. There is a CVS vending machine in the lobby that has common medications, but it was not working properly. I did not have a car to go purchase medications. The night manager (I believe his name was Firas) took our predicament very seriously. He spent an extraordinary amount of time working on the issue, and was somehow able to conjure the medication I was looking, at no cost to me. I really appreciated his level of dedication.

Overall, highly recommend this hotel. I would happily stay there again on my next trip to San Francisco.

This Hotel is a joke. I made a reservation and it was made without my knowledge or permission through a third party vendor name “culture trip”. I tried to cancel the reservation and the hotel does not answer its phones, does not return voice messages (as its voice mail promises” and the third party refuses to acknowledge messages, confirm cancellation or respond to inquiries. It is all an automated scam. Avoid this dump.

Great area to be in. Be prepared to walk some gnarly hills in any direction if you’re walking around.

Hotel room was a little smaller than I expected but is probably big for being historic. Hotel definitely has the historical vibe if you’re into that. Bed was very comfortable and sheets super soft. The room we had on the 15th floor had a nice view of the city but not the greatest view since a bit of it is blocked by a balcony thing.

Parking garage is right past where Top of the Mark entrance is on California.

I would stay here again!

Very old fashioned fancy hotel. Very cool designs and right at the top of the hill so great views all around. The streets nearby are not for the weak of heart. You definitely get a workout walking up the hilly streets.

Funny enough, I’ve stayed here and worked here, both experiences I wouldn’t want to repeat ever again. Not worth it, simply not worth any of it

The WORST stay I have ever experienced in any of the IHG brand hotels! My highlight was the nice valet man who greeted us.

Upon checking in the lady was unwelcoming. She did not even recognize me for having a status which is something that is ALWAYS mentioned in any hotel I stay in. She was very unpleasant, looked down on me like I was some poor guy who didn't belong.

The room itself was awful, outdated, the wallpaper was ripped in some places. The nicest thing about it was the newly renovated bathroom. No outlets by the bed side to charge your phone. Absolutely terrible stay, Holiday would have been a much nicer stay.

Also, thank you for not mentioning that the parking costs half of the price of one night stay.

AVOID this place.

Beautiful property, gorgeous decor, warm front desk staff. Saw pictures online but they don't do the place justice. Booked through Expedia and thought it was too good to be true.
