IZOLA, San Diego CA

As a Southern & a Foodie I look forward to trying new foods. When I walk into IZOLA, I thought I was back in my Grandmothers kitchen. The smell of the deliciousness of what was coming out of the kitchen was AMAZING.

Easily one of the most say memorable food experiences I’ve ever had. I absolutely LOVE croissants and the fact that Izola has the most unique selection of sourdough is a huge plus for me. It didn’t take long to see the amount of attention to detail it took to create such a unique experience not just with the food but the costumer service and overall atmosphere as well. The staff is extremely warm and welcome. You’ll often find the owner himself there greeting costumers and making sure things runs smoothly for everyone. Also had a man playing live music which created an ever more warm and welcoming vibe. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

The food these guys are making is awesome! I picked up 2 Tahitian vanilla knots and they were warm and I ate them both in the car, was supposed to give one to my husband, oops!

Nothing but an amazing experience, whether it was in store, on the phone or curbside. Izola’s customer service is always friendly and of course it helps that the products are delicious and on point every time!

I’ve been to bakeries all around San Diego, but IZOLA keeps me coming back for more. My first time eating one of their croissants was a Pain au Chocolate and I meant to eat only half but could not stop because it was just so flakey and buttery, with the melted chocolate inside. I live far from downtown and don’t like to go into downtown, but IZOLA is worth the trip. I shared with my coworkers, because I wanted them to taste the deliciousness that comes from IZOLA’s ovens and from the hard work that their team has put in, and everyone loves it. My top three croissants are the Everything, Chocolate and Original.

I love this place! I have purchased both the croissants and sourdough loafs, they are fantastic! I've visited on the weekends and there was live music, a very nice touch. They really are the best!

By far the best croissants in SanDiego! Flaky, buttery and delicious. I have eaten many croissant in France and throughout Europe. I feel like I’m on holiday. Worth the 25 minute drive down. Thank you!

Izola is our “GO TO” bakery in SD. We live in Texas and visit San Diego 3-4 times a year, and Izola is on the list for a visit at least once every weekend we are there. Their Tahitian Vanilla Knots are the BEST! We also always freeze and bring back a few loaves of their sourdough. Just FYI, the cranberry pecan makes great French toast, and the roasted garlic is a perfect match for cioppino. The vibe inside is great and the staff go above and beyond. This place is a must visit!

Hi Jeffrey! The chocolate almond croissant was life changing! It is the most delicious, satisfying croissant I’ve ever had. Its flaky bread is baked to perfection! I wish you had more locations in Cali, especially one in the Bay Area!

A couple of weeks ago, we had our first IZOLA experience. Everything we ordered was delicious and the staff who assisted us when we picked up our online order were friendly and helpful. The bakery itself is beautiful, we would have eaten our croissants there, but it was the weekend so the place was packed. I can't wait to try some of their sourdoughs, both the olive and roasted garlic sourdoughs are calling my name!

Best croissant this side of the Atlantic. Exemplary small local business which takes as much pride in the quality of their products as how they treat their employees and serve their community.

Came here to study for a few hours and try the food. I arrived early in the morning, pre-ordered an almond croissant and an everything croissant, and also got a latte while I was there. The space feels very open and is gorgeous with amazing sunlight. I loved the live music and how you can see the baker just upstairs! The servers were amazing and thoughtful—at some point one came around to give complimentary morning buns and Tahitian vanilla knots to everyone! All of the food was amazing. Croissants were perfectly flaky and soft in the middle, and pulled apart beautifully, same with the Tahitian vanilla knot. 10/10 experience, can’t recommend enough!

Definitely worth trying! I enjoyed the flaky layers outside and the soft with a bite texture inside of the croissants. Perfect balanced and the flavor is on point.

My first trip to Izola was like entering a speakeasy: buzzed in, up three flights of stairs, and then another doorway. When the door opened it was a sea of people, a cacophony of sound and music playing. All of that was background for the best bread San Diego has ever known. Everything about Izola is terrific: the bread, the croissants, the service people, and the atmosphere. Try it and you’ll love it.

Absolutely the best croissant of my life! All croissants will forever be measured against this one So buttery and savory, with a salty, crisp exterior and pillowy depths. And HUGE! When in doubt, pick the original flavor!

Tips: order ahead via the website for pickup. Do not anticipate a traditional storefront - you will enter an unlabeled building and go upstairs to a large loft space. Just do it!

Loved it, the chocolate croissant was unreal. The high quality chocolate and butter make such a noticeable difference.

Very beautiful store, the almond croissants are delicious! Not too sweet, full of aroma! It is recommended to make a reservation in advance, as there are many people in the morning on weekdays!
