Jacks Bar and Grill - BBQ Restaurant reviews
13 Went back to Jack's for one of their REALLY GOOD salads. Unknowingly sat next to an employee/management meeting. Two of the four has some strong feelings (talking $#! %) about their co-workers and/or subordinates. The bartender did her job for the most part, but was SLOPPY about all of it. I didn't have a drink, thankfully, and won't unless someone else is covering.
Really disappointed in the lack of care and professionalism. They need to take some lessons from the staff and management at Barley & Boar, which has the same owners. I'm hoping they can correct these concerns.
Right place at the right time. It was my husband's birthday. He wanted to go Nardines, but they are out of business. In the second choice, he wanted Griffs, so we went. Griffs is jut down the road from Jack's. We entered at 6: 30 pm. A girl who looked like she just woke up told us they could make food, but it was take out only. Of course, for my husband's birthday, that was not sufficient, especially in the one restaurant he requested. So we drove 2 blocks and were greeted with smiles and open arms. The food was amazing, and the service was even better. We are grateful that we were treated so poorly at Griffs. Now we have a new go-to spot. We gladly spent $180+$36 tip for a restaurant where we felt welcomed and appreciated. Thank you, Jack's! We already frequent many of your establishments, so it's no surprise that you save the evening. Thank you! We will be back!
Wonderful food and service! It's a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We will be back next time we're in town.:)
Family took me there, on visit. Great food, yummy desserts. Had, Prime rib slice, with grilled onions, cheese on top. Excellent! Onion rings were super! Apple crisp dessert WAS THE BEST I EVER HAD. Served, hot in a small skillet. Great place.
Here for lunch to celebrate my dad's birthday. We had a great time. The staff was excellent as was the food. I had the fish and chips. Sometimes I get the tacos. It doesn't really matter, everything I've had there has been great.
Our waiter was amazing and incredibly honest about his preferences which did help us choose THE BEST meal and drinks for us.
Wanted a properly cooked ribeye, got a perfectly cooked one, veggies were al dente, waitress was nice, polite, and attentive. 100 percent will be going back.
Trish was amazing! We were in a hurry and she anticipated every one of our needs. The French dip was fantastic, the home made ranch dressing was tops, and the iced tea was perfect. We'll be back!
Jacqueline J. Was our server today! She was amazing! And never wrote anything down! As always, the food was so yummy
We sat on the patio, but seemed forgotten. It took a long time to get a water, food and check, but servers were friendly and like a lot of restaurants may have been under staffed as it was busy. The fish and chips was lightly breaded and very tasty. The Philly had a bit of tangy kick to the flavor and the bread became soggy quickly. Other items may have been a better choice.
As a local we needed a new place to eat. However I cannot understand what folks see in this place. I have given them a second chance a half dozen times seeing that people fill the place up. I am not that picky either. I have dined in a few times but generally take out. The food overall is on par with say Denny's, but every time Ive been there the order is screwed up, every time! Ordered a simple burger and regular fries and got home to find some type of potato with a weird goopy sauce covering it. Last week a french dip with normal fries and my bad for not checking, but found after getting home a coldish sandwich, steak fries with some kind of funky cheese sauce and no Ajus dipping sauce. Went back down there where the host practically interrogated me, checked the bag, checked the computer then disappeared. Finally, another server showed up and went to get the Ajus. Was so pissed I just went home to try the fries which I ended up dumping. The french dip was just so so, all for 24 bucks. The atmosphere of the place is super nice, service could be better, food 1 star.
Pricey. We're locals and have watched the costs escalate to LA levels. Too bad because it will keep us from the restaurant. $13.50 for a drink is nuts.
