Jack's Bistro & Famous Bagels, Carpinteria CA

We had a wonderful breakfast experience at this Carpinteria restaurant known for its popular bagels. The Eggs Benedict I ordered were absolutely delicious. My wife and I also tried the onion bagel and cheese bagel, both of which were fantastic. The service provided by Alejandra and Verán Silviano, also known as Sal, was top-notch. Overall, it was a delightful meal with excellent service.

Clean place and friendly and very kind staff! We ate a really good breakfast and drank a maxi cappuccino!

Come try the huevos rancheros, eggs over easy. Delicious! The staff is friendly and attentive. The outside patio is exquisite and dog-friendly.

1st time at Jack's as part of a bike ride from Ventura to Carpenteria. Had a vegetable scramble. The food was good. Service was excellent again today.

The service was just about the best I've ever seen. Waiter Silvano was so welcoming and friendly to my mother and I. Wonderful!

We were fortunate to sit outside and watch the local car show.and people watch. So fun!

Great place and their dog friendly, food was great ok portions. It wasn't that busy and they forgot my coffee two times, when one of the ladies did bring the coffee she filled my dad's shoe as well.

I swung in on a Sunday morning while on vacation from Washington State. The staff was WONDERFUL and the cheese bagel and coffee was even better. Totally worth stopping by and supporting this local business.

I had eggs with the corned beef hash, and it was awfully good, but nothing compared to the bagel my wife had. I can see why they're famous.

The Linden Ave with an egg on the side was delicious! I chose chive cream cheese and a jalapeño cheese bagel, great combo. Coffee was good and flowing continuously as well.

Famous Bagels, that's exactly it My Veggie B-Eggl with jalapeño was super fine The staff is friendly and accommodating We would definitely come back

March 10/23: Changed my review today from a 5 star to a 2 star.
I have lived in Carpinteria for most of 45 years and have enjoyed Jack's since it became an eating establishment instead of my old Wells Fargo bank! It's not fancy, but I like the bagels and outside dining and easy parking. See my original review below!

But today I left pretty irritated. It's rainy and we went for lunch arriving at the door at 1: 50pm. There were 4 tables with diners still eating. We removed our jackets, sat down in a booth, and a man came to say they were closed. He insisted and we put our coats back on walked past surprised diners and went back out into the rain. The hours PAINTED on the door say they are open until 3pm, but the woman pointed to a printed paper sign taped to the door saying they closed at 2pm. Ok FINE, but even as I drove away, I pointed to the clock in my car and told my wife, "Look, it's STILL only 1: 56pm" Seriously! What's the deal? This is a longstanding local place, frequented by us locals and they throw us out the door 5 minutes before closing. I wonder if the actual owners would approve?

Very sad.and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that will make me at least hesitate to return despite 40 year history.

The biggest toasted bagel with scrambled eggs I have ever seen! Amazing! Tasty!

The place can get a bit busy but it's worth it. Amazing bagels and breakfast options and even a wood burning fireplace make this a lovely breakfast stop for a group or a quick option on the way to something else. Unbelievable affordable given the quality of the food!

Jacks bistro is really good. I dont write review very much but this place is worth it.such yummy food and nice ppeople there al so.
