Jacks Donuts reviews
9 One star for having the doughnuts my kids were asking for.
Missing four additional stars for the horrible customer service and price.
Do yourself a favor and skip this one. There’s a Safeway next door or drive an extra 10 minutes to a Redding doughnut shop. Maverik’s gas station close by has the best breakfast burritos in town if you’re not stuck on a doughnut specifically (which is what the parents got).
Just incredibly thankful this was a one time visit and not my local doughnut shop.
Edited to say there were two people other than myself there (the other two being helped together by one person) and the other was helping me. It was not busy at all the entire time I was there, and I was heading out of town for a fun trip- so I was in a great mood before heading in. I sincerely hope they were just having a really off day, but I for sure won’t be back to find out.
Arrived at about 7: 15 am on Saturday. They still had a good selection, but the store started to get busy as we were leaving. Product were fresh and of high quality. Service was prompt and friendly. Jack's has the best donuts and pastries we've found since moving to the area last summer. We'll be back soon.
This has been my favorite place to get donuts for years. They are hands down the best. Way better than Krispy Kreme by a long shot.
This place is great for great coffee at a good price and fresh pastries. My wife and I stumbled across them while traveling and glad we did.
EDIT - 2021: Boy, this place has really gone downhill. Their donuts used to be amazing, and humongous, but they've really been sliding over the past couple of years. The donuts are significantly smaller and they don't taste nearly as good. I'm not sure what changed but I don't enjoy going here like I used to.

OLD REVIEW from 2017: I've eaten donuts in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver Canada, Dallas, Orlando. Jack's Donuts is on par, if not better than donuts at all these other places. Not only do you get a huge bang for your buck (great prices/massive donuts), but the donuts are delicious! Easily the best in Shasta County.
I would definitely recommend driving out of your way to come here. It's totally worth it. As for local competition, Heavenly Donuts and Krispy Kreme have NOTHING on Jack's. Not even in the same ballpark.
Jack's donuts is the local bakery to beat. I don't even purchase from any other local bakery as none have the same quality. The bear claws have these amazing little applied pies inside them, every donut on the menu is worth trying out. But cruellers are my favvvvvvve. So light and fluffy, it's like biting into a cloud
Jack's is the best! Their donuts are always so good and they are HUGE. If you get there early you can buy them fresh and have a really good selection!
I love my donut shop donuts. Well worth the drive and kind staff. Wish I could have one closer to home.
Everybody who has been to Jack's knows it is probably the best donut joint in the north state! The apple frtitters are out of this world!
