So thankful that I was able to attend Jackson House while going through a difficult life transition. I received much needed kindness and support, and highly recommend them if you’re looking for a higher level of care during a rough patch!

Jackson House is clean and the food is good. The staff is friendly and fairly organized. The staff cares about you and wants to help make your stay comfortable. The groups are helpful and the days go by fairly quick because of them.

My time at Jackson House was inspiring. The staff and clients helped me find positive growth. Caroline helped lessen my fear of a place to live by finding me a really great house. Vicky helped me see that I had to be honest with myself to grow. Erin was amazing in helping me understand my past did not have to hold me back. Jenica was amazing and helped calm me when I had a terrible case of pneumonia. Eric made 5am coffee fun.
I strongly recommend Jackson House for healing.

My experience at Jackson House transformed how I view myself and what’s possible for me. Jackson house is a safe space for individuals to grow. The Jackson house personnel don’t just do their jobs, they go the extra mile. They don’t just tell you what you want/need to hear but they provide you the tools to be an emotionally stable individual all on your own. I am grateful to have received my treatment here and hope that those looking for support find it in them to give Jackson house an opportunity, because you won’t be let down.

I went to Jackson House and got dumped.
I went through the whole process, knowing i had struggled with substance abuse and mainly mental health. Im not an addict. I came there with my head strong, motivated and ready to get the help that I needed. I traveled an hour and a half to be there & before i arrived i had 4 twisted teas (stupid i know). But i didn’t know the rules. I arrived at the facility and received a covid swab, then was invited in. I answered truthfully a long list of questions. I willfully told them i had a couple drinks before arriving, & was NOT intoxicated. They breathalyzed and i blew a. 04. After about 10 minutes, I blew a. 035. The staff were going back-and-forth with their Director on text, and came to the conclusion that i “needed” go to the ER to do detox & take a detox pill. So two people dropped me off at the ER and told me I needed to take a detox pill, get cleared by a nurse and they would come pick me up… (NO WARNING that this could result in being kicked out). This was all around 8 PM so after waiting at the ER for 2 1/2 hours, only having blood drawn, and waiting around a bunch of sick people. I finally got pulled in to get the motion started. I got a call, I couldn’t answer at the time, but I called back within 5 minutes when I could and they told me I was no longer able to be admitted. I asked why, and they said because of the blood alcohol content was considered “dangerous”. So there I sat alone, by myself an hour and a half away from home, dumped. After i got picked up at 11pm, we headed back to Jackson House and picked up my stuff.which took awhile? I called the Director back this morning and she told me the nurses told her I blew a. 4, which is a HUGE difference. I don’t understand how that could even be confused, when my BAC was written on paper and spoken about through various people. As well as telling me i could go to the jackson house that also has a detox center, and i need more “intensive therapy”. I understand I was wrong for drinking before, but I was nowhere near intoxicated, and leaving me at the hospital late at night by myself was not ok.
Overall, wouldn’t come here if you struggle with substance abuse.even if your not an addict, i get this isn’t a “detox center” but considering they do DUAL diagnosis, this is ridiculous.

Very unprofessional and ignorant!
My niece admitted herself for their 2week psych coping program. She admitted to having a couple drinks prior to going.
They breathalyzed her and she tested 0.04 BAC.
They claimed it was a dangerous level!? Gave her narcan and took her to hospital ER - and abandoned her there,
60 miles from home.
. And disenrolled her from program!
This poor fragile girl reached out to them for help and they make a spectacle of her "half the legal limit" BAC and abandon her!

I worked at JH for 5 yrs went through 5 directors first 3 were the best and the last two had no clue about how JH staff ran the show and they didn't value staff. Didnt socialize with staff or Clients. Plus the last two directors allowed a counselor to bully me for two years and didn't protect me. My mental health took a turn for the worst I started losing my hair getting spots on my face and just being depressed the humiliation Took a toll on me this Therapist needs help herself a little On the bipolar Side be careful plus I heard recently she still works their and still putting staff down bullying them. JH admin not once in two years check up on me to see how I was doing on the other hand treated me as if I was the bad guy be careful If you decide to be a client their and get the old lady as a therapist. I was not protect by JH But I would call out because my mh was messed up and I always had doctors note and still got written up but therapist sas never being bothered with. I'm still working on myself because those two years cause me a lot of damage. Also be careful with he office manager she is the biggest two face person ivemet and jealous of certain staff

After a couple of days finally reuniting with our daughter, my wife and I wanted to send you a quick note to express our deep appreciation for all of the work and the support provided to my daughter during her time at the Jackson House. She was extremely thankful and appreciative of the staff and the support she has received.

Special mention to Brandon who has been absolutely fantastic and a big part of my daughter's constructive attitude vis-a-vis her acceptance and education related to her new disease.

Lastly and maybe more remarkable, our sincere prize for extending the program by a week. As much as we do realize that Covid came at a very bad time for my daughter and was the reason for the 1-week extension, the fact that you were willing to take the risk to cover for the overcharge before even hearing back on the authorization from the insurance was absolutely a blessing - something as Brandon is aware that just would not have been possible otherwise. Again - thank you so much!

I am truly grateful for Jackson House. The staff and patients I have met here have helped me get my life back in focus. I was terrified coming in for the unknown. But the staff are very welcoming and helped me work through my life/family traumas. I've gained many tools for an improved me and overall better future for myself. I highly recommend JH to anyone needing mental health services. Best decision I ever could have made for myself.

By the time that I entered the doors of Jackson House, La Mesa, I had "hit rock bottom". Two decades spent grappling daily with the symptoms and effects of mental illness had taken a critical toll on my mind, body, spirit, and soul, on my most cherished relationships, on my career and finances, and on my social standing. Truly, I was even struggling to muster a rationale and the wherewithal to continue pressing forward in life, rather than to resign in failure and defeat.

During my stay, I witnessed and experienced the most special, and even miraculous connections and breakthroughs amongst fellow peers, and between ourselves and the staff-all of whom merit the highest levels of gratitude, respect, and reward. Each member of the team there treated all of us with the utmost dignity, and leveraged the whole of their attention and energy towards providing us with excellent care, invaluable education, and every resource (both material as well as informational) that we required in order to experience healing, growth and personal development; and critical means/tools by which to better manage our conditions and lead relatively normalized and productive lives, both immediately and beyond our brief time within the program. At Jackson House (La Mesa), one enters as a stranger, and leaves as an adopted member of a community, with a feeling of a family unit.

I will forever remember those days and nights spent in this special program, with those special individuals, whom will always hold a dear place in my heart and thoughts. I would proceed to give a special thanks and shout-out to individual members of the staff, but then I would take up pages of space, for truly I would have to list each and every one of them and provide personalized remarks. For the sake of relative brevity, suffice to say that each member of the team absolutely embodies the spirit of the theory of medicine (and not only Western medicine, but every instance of past and contemporary medicine of any real merit), with its emphasis on universally improving the health and well being of individual patients, and advancing the social standing of the corporeal body of the masses, in this case with a particular emphasis on mental and behavioral health. For this integrity, and my experience as well as the experiences that I witnessed amongst my peers in the program, I am forever grateful to each and every one of these professionals, whom I will forever cherish as loved-ones.

For anybody who is seeking answers and help for any mental and/or behavioral illness or struggle, I highly, highly encourage you to take those initial steps of seeking out help, frightening as it may seem. And if such is the case for you reading this, or any of your loved-ones, I assure you that proceeding with this particular program will have immediate and lasting, and purely positive impacts and effects. May this assurance hold true for everyone who is blessed with the opportunity to join this life-changing community, and Family! God Bless!
