Jackson Lake Picnic Site reviews
11 There is no better City in California than LA for the winter, our weather is spectacular and for fun in the snow we have to travel up the mountain, more than two hours, this year we visited Jackson Lake on January 2, oh what a fun trip, there is snow up to 8 feet deep,
we were able to slide and make huge snowman, a lot of people who couldn't find parking, spectacular mountain views where your mind remembered all the Christmas images of the places that are always covered in snow in that era.
Went there with my 2 Chihuahuas. My son, his wife and their 2 Chihuahuas came along too. We barbequed lunch there. It was peaceful there. Nice for the dogs as they were able to run around off leash. No one else was there. Just wish the lake would have had more water.
Plenty of shaded grass area's and great hiking trails behind going to a view of the desert. Public bathroom as well.
The facility is incredible the lake is wonderful. But the outhouses need a lot of work. I don't think they get clean eyes often as they should but otherwise you got a 4-star rating just make it a five-star play the restroom
Nice place to hang out before the winter snow season. Come prepared (food, tire chanins, etc.), drive safely and be patient
Perfect place for Quiet reflection. This is a private lake owned by a church. So be respectful.
So beautiful in the fall when it snows! It’s like perfect autumn and winter in the same scene.
Took the Harley up to Wrightwood and back down the other side of the mountain towards the desert. Stopped at Jackson Lake along the way. Green, calm, cool and beautiful. A really nice place to stop, relax and enjoy the day.
I love Jackson Lake. So peaceful, just a few fishermen angling for goldfish.
I used to kayak from one end to the other.takes about 35 seconds from one end to the other, its more a pond than a lake.
One day, I saw a woman swimming back and forth. The middle aged woman was in a bikini. I was shocked to see anyone swimming in the grassy-swampy water, so when she exited I asked, "How was it? " She replied, "I'm used to colder waters back in England, so it wasn't bad. " So I just recommended that she be careful with all the hooks stuck in the grassy bottom, as its mostly a fisherman's stocked pond.
It is so peaceful. I love all the trees, they're so beautiful, and the little lake. I love it!
