I am a small business owner and never post negative reviews because I know how damaging they are. However, our experience was horrendous. My husband, my three children ages 4,6 and 9 and I were strolling through downtown. We asked a couple we bumped into if they had any recommendations. They said Jakes had great food and amazing dessert. Unfortunately, at the time they were closed between lunch and dinner. We moved on but decided to save room for dessert and stop by on the way home. When we arrived back at Jakes we were met with opposition and hostility. Despite the fact that the restaurant was about half empty they did not want to seat us for dessert. I have a long history of waiting tables so I knew they profiled our table as low ticket and a bad tip because we were a family. They told us they had tables in the past that only ordered a piece of cake. I assured them we would ring up a considerable bill and would get an appetizer and that we tip well. They reluctantly sat us at a table that was available due to an abandoned reservation. As we sat down my 9-year-old suggested we leave because she did not think we were welcome. We brushed it off and stayed anyway. However, after considering the menu we opted out of an appetizer, but we did order two cocktails, two mocktails, three desserts and an order of pasta. Apparently, the manager or owner was not satisfied with our order because he rushed to our table to scream at us and call us liars because we didn't get an appetizer. He even threatened to call the police. All three of our children were in tears and scared we were going to jail. It seems weird that a half empty restaurant would turn away business and publicly berate customers in front of their children, but that is what happened at Jakes. Hopefully they treat Jake, their dog, better than they treat their customers. Edit: wow! Just looked at the owner's response to some of the reviews. Now I am not surprised we were treated that way. The poor staff that work there.

I have enjoyed dinner at this place before and they had a great selection of desserts. This evening I stopped by to purchase a few desserts to go (I live 45 miles away) and was told they don’t do that. Keep in mind the dessert display was fully stocked with a great variety. The host stated that they don’t do take out on desserts because their baker cannot keep up with demand. Logistically this must be untrue. Unless you plan to serve cakes that are two plus weeks old there is no way your seated customers are going to consume the 12 extra large cakes that you have in your display. So why not sell to people who want to take it to go? A sale is a sale and with limited seating and staffing with COVID you would think you would be happy to to take out.

Exceptional menu with a very nice variety of dishes to choose from. From pre dinner drinks or cocktails, appetizers, main course and dessert, you will be very satisfied.

I don't think we were given the table that were promised when we made the reservation, but, it was OK. We enjoyed the sea bass, the pork chops, and the prime rib. The service was great.

Jake’s is a restaurant that has both indoor and outdoor seating. The scene reminds me of a French type courtyard. Both the service and food are mediocre at best. This is a crowded spot so you may have to wait to be served. I ordered the lobster roll and it was ok. It was a bit on the bland side. I would not order again. The hostess was rude, however it was quite busy so she was unable to provide great customer service. The server too was ok making sure that our order was taken and food arrived. There was no more refills on our beverages offered, tea and water. Jake’s is a lovely place to enjoy a great conversation with friends, family and even a romantic date as far as atmosphere and ambience. I am unsure if I would return unless it was a gathering place at someone else’s suggestion.

Definitely a dog friendly restaurant with a great patio. They have an extensive hand crafted cocktail menu. I ordered the Black Dahlia whick has tequila, muddled blackberry, coconut, jalapeno, and a basil garnish. We ordered crab cakes for starters the had salmon and chicken and picata for our main course. We split the coconut cake with cream cheese frosting and opted for the Amaretto to make it decadent. The dessert is massive and could feed 3-4 people. They also gave us an amuse-bouche (toast with whipped cream cheese) and small bite of brownie. They ask for vaccine cards upon check-in. They have outdoor and indoor seating.

If you're looking for not only DELICIOUS food but hands down 10/10 service, then look no further! We had Jake's cater a birthday dinner for a group of friends and it was the highlight of our weekend! We were treated like royalty from the get go with the amazing customer service from Chris, gifted the most delicious plant based menu from Heather, and graced with the wonderful service from Gloria who served us so graciously for the night. Let me start with the food: the food was delicious! It was fresh and flavourful; it had our meat eating friends loving every bite and Jake's generously catered to one member of our party who had several dietary restrictions. Every dish from the h'or doers to the dessert was loved by all! And the service was simply the BEST! Everything was taken care of from the set up to clean up. All we had to do was sit back and enjoy the delicious food. I would highly recommend Jakes! If the dining experience at the restaurant is a fraction of what we received from their catering, then you are in for a real treat! We're definitely stopping by the next time we're in Palm Springs

Just finished a fabulous meal at Jake’s! Everything was delicious, starting with the cocktails. The service was awesome, the patio setting was beautiful and we weren’t rushed. Both salads, gem and tri color, were delicious as was the eggplant entree and lamb. Had to have a HUGE piece of the coconut cake which was good but we couldn’t finish it was so big.

A terrific place to meet and have a lovely dinner.

Lots of outdoor seating, and pleased they required masks and vaccinated card for dining.

My seabass was superb! Also unexpected tasty treats appeared before our meal was served.same thing after dinner.

It is the little things that make dining a special treat.and they hit just the right cord.

Amazing! Great little place for dinner or lunch. Had the dynamite salmon which was by far the best salmon I’ve ever had. And a blueberry hill also amazing. Would absolutely go back.

My husband and I enjoyed the ambience, food, and service. Our drinks were excellent and refreshing: the One Hot Juanito and the Poolside Car (highly recommend both), and the Miami vice salad and Croque Benedict which were both fresh and delicious! From the host to the expediter and to our wonderful server Alan, we had a great brunch and can’t wait to return! Thank you Jake’s for a great meal!

The restaurant people were great very social very hospitable but unfortunately I spent the rest of my Palm springs vacation with food poisoning, so I'd have to take a rain check and never going back I was very very sick

Great place for a delicious classic with a twist. The service is very good and consistent, although like always you get the hostess to pretend to look too busy to make you wait, but this definitely a great spot for great affordable food in a very quaint setting.
