Jake's On The Lake reviews
21Very friendly and helpful staff. We shared a Baked Brie plater, followed by the Apple Walnut salad with grilled chicken (good, but needs some cranberries). We really enjoyed the dessert, Hula pie, mmm ice cream pie with chocolate fudge and nuts.
Happy Hour is limited to an extremely small bar area. They sat us in the dining area because I was unaware of this policy and when I realized the last tables were already taken. Refused to change policy even though the dining area was completely empty, besides my party. I would not recommend this over priced and over hyped place. The lake views also aren’t as good as nearby restaurants. Would highly recommend Za’s instead for far better views and a more local scene.
They have a great menu, I ordered a Scampi provencal it was good. Service is great too highly recommend
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Jake’s on the Lake. The food was extraordinarily mediocre and insanely overpriced! The scallops were not very good and $52. The fish tacos were over cooked. I do not mind spending a lot of money on a meal when the atmosphere, service, and food quality is worth it and Jake’s on the lake most definitely is not. Our server also never checked up on us during the meal. There are so many better restaurants in Tahoe City, like Christy Hill that are the same, if not less expensive, and a significantly better dining experience.
I would highly recommend going during the day instead of at night. There's not much to see in the dark. It's a great location, no doubt.but the prices of dinner entrees are way too expensive. But I guess that should be expected in Tahoe. Don't think we'll revisit.
Great food! Got the steak skewers, apple walnut salad, poke wraps and Hulu cake for dessert. Everything was delicious. They did not miss a beat! Would definitely recommend if you are in the Tahoe City area.
Great music, excellent service, amazing happy hour, great vibes and good company. Lindsay is a delight.
A very nice place to go, a place for dinner with friends or a night out for two,
very cool when the locals play music.good food, service and location
Good food, great wine list, excellent views and very nice staff. We love this place and have been coming back for many years. Even enjoyed a few of my birthdays here. ️
Eclectic and creative menu. Fresh and well executed. High prices, but worth it - especially in a larger group where you can share.
The owners are spoiled rotten and it shows. They don't care about their customers. The food is mediocre and overpriced.
Food was decent. Service however was really poor to the point we will not go back. View is amazing however.
Wow, we're still talking about the food! They were so careful with my allergy requests, including gluten free needs. The wait staff was excellent and the food was delicious! Be sure to call for reservations though.
Delicious food and EXCEPTIONAL service. Our waiter, Kyle, was informative, with a bright personality and very accommodating. Giving Kyle a 5/5.
The view was great, the food was great, but our server, Chris, was exceptional! He hustled and handled multiple tables with efficiency and a smile. The lobsters and Halibut were wonderful. The only negative was watching the smoke across the lake at the Mercliville fire. We pray they will all be ok.
Chris M is simply fantastic. The food is fantastic and his attention to detail and his helpfulness is such a pleasure to be around. He is one of the beat servers we’ve ever had and we also enjoyed his recommendations. Thank him and thank you.
It’s Jakes! The mai tais are amazing, food is 4 star, but the staff and location are 5 star…been going for 20 years and wont stop anytime soon…
Way to expensive to sit on lawn chairs. Heavy on sauces. Heaters were a nice touch, service was excellent.
Stopped for an app and a beer - great selection on tap! Sat at the bar and the bar staff were great! I was mostly served by Kyle - he was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the fried Ahí tuna rolls and they were VERY good! Would recommend.
Also I didn’t sit on the patio but it’s got a great vibe and incredible views if you can get a table!
Outdoor dinning is only for reservations. Indoor dinning was hot, humid and if you are playing about 100+ dollars for dinner it's not worth being indoor. We left because it was too hot to eat in door with expensive food.
