James Shoe Repair, Irvine CA

I found this shoe repair shop on maps. After seeing so many positive reviews I decided to come in and brought 11 shoe pairs in total.

It was a very big job of cleaning, conditioning, sole replacements, and lining leather shoes and high quality boots that were worn down with use or bitten through by our new puppy. No easy task. I wish I took “before” and “after” photos but seriously, they all look fresh!

James and his wife did an excellent job making 8 of the 11 pairs good as new! I came in on a Tuesday and the shoes were ready by Friday! 3 of 11 pairs were too damaged to repair and I appreciated them advising on whether the shoes were worth repairing or not. Their prices are more expensive than expected but I appreciated the neat work on very expensive leather shoes.

Not only does this super sweet husband and wife team ensure the work is done beautifully, they kindly asked to check in with me before moving forward with a more costly repair. Knowing I was moving to a place with snow, they added rubber soles to some of the highly worn shoes.

I was also late to pickup the shoes and they stayed open just for me on a Saturday so I could pick up the shoes before moving across the country for grad school.

This team has been working for 37 years and are a personable, sweet, skilled operation. I would make sure to go over pricing and take a receipt with you when the job is done.

What an amazing experience with James! Had an eyelet on my work boot break off. I was in and out in 10 minutes.for a very reasonable price.we spent more time talking about his family then the repair took. James has a great personality.he doesn't need to work on shoes anymore.he just loves it and it's been his whole life for 50 years! Very knowledgeable and skilled. Highly recommend!

I recently had a wonderful experience at James Shoe Repair. I had gotten sole protectors replaced elsewhere, but they did a lousy job. Thankfully, the team at James Shoe Repair was able to replace them with precision and care and also fixed my heel rubber flawlessly.

The pricing was reasonable, and the staff was super friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. The quality of the work speaks for itself – the repairs were impeccable and exceeded my expectations. James himself mentioned that he's been repairing shoes his entire life, and it shows in his craftsmanship.

The guy and lady work there are friendly.

Super overprice with terrible quality. Not recommend this place if your shoes/heels are delicate.

The cobbler is not experienced to deal with delicate pairs.

They used a big chunk of glue on my black suede leather heel which caused permanent damage and can’t be fixed in any way.
