Great place to go. But unfortunately some Chuck in a truck must have been in charge of there pumps as they broke. So they are down most of the main ponds and river ways. Still a great place to go. Very quiet and relaxing.

There was no water in some of the ponds, but still a nice place to stroll. The fish and ducks in the koi pond were great to look at. Paid parking is $6.

Nice as part of an overall visit to the total experience in that area. There is also a preserved old downtown with historic buildings, stores, museums and a working trolly that kids love. Right now the coi ponds are being repaired so not as nice without the water feature

A good place to visit when I went there, there was some maintenance work happening so pretty much all the water was dried up and only one pond had koi fish. May be once they have completed the maintenance it may look different.

Gorgeous hidden gem. Free at the moment. Remodeling so the large pond is empty but the trees and other ornamentals are lovely.

My clients were really happy with their photos we took at the Japanese Friendship Garden. The backdrop was beautiful and it wasn’t crowded during the week days. It was easy to apply for the permit. #LifeandPhamilyPhotography

Amazing but sad to see that the fishes only have a small portion of the enclosure to swim in due to the outbreak. Over all it is so beautiful.

I am absolutely enjoy coming to this Japanese Friendship Garden!
I'm always visiting this place quite often and in every Seasons throughout the years. Located right on Story and Senter, it happens to be just about ten minutes away from me, which is also part of the reasons why I am usually coming to this Garden.
This place was a lot better a couple years ago before the Pandemic hits. In the summer, where there are plenty of Sunshines, there's beautiful clear sky, Charming bridge, the Kois fish pond, and all the most pretty surrounding green trees, is where everything comes together as one really Gorgeous Garden!
In the fall of November this time of year, where leaves are falling, the colorful background settings, and the peaceful atmospheres, still brings joys to me as another kind of beauty to my attentions. This Garden will continues to brings many memories, many laughters, many comforts, and many emotions to my heart for many years to come!

Most of the Japanese friendship garden is being renovated, but The Koi are still there in a pond near the happy hollow fences, I enjoyed the park as-is but I look forward to next winter when the park will be back in proper form

While I this garden has potential to be one of the most beautiful places in the country, it is currently under construction. The lake beds are currently dry but I'm certain after the repairs are done the whole garden will look gorgeous and vibrant. For now, the most authentic and beautiful japanese garden lies in Portland.

I like this tranquil park though I wish I had visited it when all ponds had water.
Last time when I visited it was winter and they close the park at 4pm so was not able to see it. So this time I checked the timing before visiting the park.

Summer Memorial Day to Labor Day
10 a.m. To 7 p.m.
Fall Labor Day to Winter Daylight Savings
10 a.m. To 5 p.m.
Winter Daylight Savings to Spring Daylight Savings
10 a.m. To 4 p.m.
Spring Daylight Savings to Memorial Day
10 a.m. To 6 p.m.

No water except in one part of the park. Nice park but without the water it was only meh. The parking requires $6 fee. Payable by credit card if you like. The garden is to the left of the parking lot. You can also access via the right but it takes longer to get all the way Around to the other side. Wasn’t very crowded at all when we went. Hopefully they’ll get water soon.

The day we went was on a hot and smokey day from all the fires we have been having.

Although the garden was open, there wasn't anyone on the grounds for assistance. The beautiful koi ponds were all empty and they posted a sign that it was damaged due to a creek flood.

The fish were relocated to a pond up the hill pending repairs to the lower ponds. The grounds still appeared to be maintained well.

Overall experience was okay and worth a visit.

The kids had been moved to a different pond, but still in the park and can be seen, very peaceful and asteticly pleasing, all around.

Disappointed to find only the northwesternmost pond containing any water. The signs indicate this has been the case since the 2017 floods, and we saw no signs of construction or repair work being done mid-week, so perhaps there is not money to do so.

Lovely garden with a little Koi fish pond. The water system of the area was affected by the flood in 2017, so no water for the rest of the scenery. A lot of maple trees. Green and peaceful.

No water or koi fish currently. Our last visit was in the summer of 2016 so hadn't realized they are still fixing after flooding in 2017. Hope it will be back soon, but still a nice peaceful place.

The park is just little smaller than I expected. It is ok. Only one pond is running and others are empty. Trees in the park are nice.
