The first few times I went (a couple months ago) it was sooo good. My past 3 consecutive visits, they have not added the flavoring I ordered in my cappuccino (and was charged for) and the espresso tasted burnt: (once or twice is an easy mistake but not sure how this became such a consistent problem, maybe an issue with mobile ordering specifically. The flavored lattes seem fine but when I try to add flavor to a regular cappuccino, they just don’t do it. It’s pretty frustrating and I probably won’t return at this point. Bummer.

Hands down my absolute favorite coffee. I tell anyone that will listen to stop in and order some online for home.

What a delightful place with great coffee and great ambiance. I loved the coffee I got and the peanut butter cookie. I met the owner at my open house prior to visiting this shop, happened by the shop on accident, tried the coffee and cookie upon suggestion by the owner and was happily rewarded with great flavor. I love lighter roasted beans. I was not disappointed. I will definitely be back!

I really like this woman owned small business. It's a coffee shop with very good coffee and Espresso based beverages, not to mention some locally baked goods and house made bites such as croissant panini breakfast sandwiches and ciabatta panini lunch sandwiches. Customers service is always friendly.

Honey, cinnamon latte, and a pumpkin spice latte were incredible. Very flavorful. Friendly barista open early, would recommend.

Super chill, super laid back, cute, and unassuming from the outside coffee shop. I love it here. Alena, the owner, is so friendly, nice, and pleasant and created a great vibe in her cafe. I bought my go to, a black coffee, and it was very tasty. Also, I bought two bags of "David's" coffee beans, Alena and her husbands roastery, and it is high quality and fresh stuff! It is where I will buy my beans from now on. Love it. Get here.

Really great espresso done right. Hand roasted beans by the bag, lovely setting and environment. The ideal small tasty shop for anyone who cares about how they drink their coffee.

Charming little coffee house. Service was great. Ham Panini was delicious. I ordered the honey cinnamon latte, it’s was really good! Husband ordered the caramel macchiato, he liked it but said it needed more coffee. Overall I liked it and I will be back when around the neighborhood.

Java Garden is an absolute gem! Alena and her team have perfected the art of making you feel at home. They remember my name and my coffee preference, which creates a warm and welcoming community vibe.

Local coffee shop that serves THE BEST coffee I've ever had. It's single origin so you're getting a superior flavor and quality. The owners are very polite and engaging and always provide good service. The food is the perfect thing to accompany your drink of choice. There's a nice outside patio that creates a little retreat from the hustle and bustle of the day. Sit there, relax and enjoy a fine cup of coffee and peace of mind.

Fantastic Coffee, Extraordinary Service and Great Food. Java Garden is a little Oasis in my neighborhood, its like an escape from the city and everyone is just awesome (staff and customers alike). I can't tell you the amount of times I've talked to someone who is there and its like meeting an old friend! I personally am a huge fan of the vanilla latte, mad hatter and vanilla frappe for drinks. As far as bites go, the cheese danish and blondie are my go too but the sandwiches hit the spot when you're looking for something a little more hearty.

I love that I can walk in, order a latte and it is just the way I like it, no doctoring needed. I also love the Mad Hatter. Great local, neighborhood coffee shop. There is always a friendly face behind the counter. I’m glad you’re here!

I went there for the first time today, and I was very impressed! Love the plant decor, great customer service and my croissant and coffee were delicious. 5 starts all around!

Quaint and cozy cafe offering the authentic Italian cafe experience and hand made sandwiches and pastries. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about coffee. If you are passionate about coffee or just wants the “perfetto” cup of Italian espresso/lattes then you’ll enjoy savoring that cup at the place. This place takes pride in their hand picked and small batch roasted beans that is roasted on site. I visited from out of town and is hooked. I now order online and have it delivered at home so I can enjoy freshly ground “chicco” for me to enjoy anytime.

Last evening I met Alena. Hearing about there In-house roasted, small batch blended coffees, HAD TO try a cuppa! Excellent

A great place to go for friendly service with top quality coffee! I love that I can rely on my drink tasting exactly how I like it no matter who the barista is. An added bonus is that the owner's are residents of the local neighborhood. Java Garden has been a wonderful addition to the community with owners who are invested in, and supportive of the Serra Mesa community. If you appreciate a quality cup of coffee or a specialty coffee drink, Java Garden won't disappoint.

I love this place! The staff is very friendly, and my favorite drink is their Caramel Macchiato.
