Joanna A. Cooper, M.D. reviews
4I have been her patient for many years and I think the world of her. She diagnosed that I had had a stroke while I was in the ER, about 15 years ago. I knew I was having a stroke but no one believed me because I was not your typical stroke victim and the cat scan was showing nothing. I see her once a year Bless her.
I saw her years ago. She did not believe what I said about my symptoms. She diagnosed me with migraines but was really mean. Back then at 24 I was too young to self advocate or I never would have stood for the shear lack of decent treatment. She made me feel ashamed for feeling awful.
Kept telling me I wasn’t seeing what was in front of us both then changed to ‘of course it is! ’ Huh? Or I would describe a problem and she would say it wasn’t there. First of all she wasn’t there at night when I was sleeping and having the problem then who is she to say something isn’t there? I’m there to have problems fixed rather than be told something else to feel.
The staff have been over 5 months saying my new hose is coming.someone from ‘that company’ will call me.nothing. But they are genuinely surprised every time I call like this is the first time hearing about it and my appointment was a day ago.
Dr Cooper is busy and her schedule sometimes is booked out. So I’ve found that seeing Dr West at UCSF outpatient campus in Berkeley on Wednesday’s is SO convenient. He knows multiple sclerosis and is an amazing doctor. His MS certified nurse Deanna is so nice to talk to on the phone. She is helpful, kind and needs your request to come to Berkeley more often. They fill patients with hope and such care that I wanted to share my great find so others can have help with this awful disease.
