Love this campus. Clean great faculty and staff. Convenient location just north of the panhandle

This used to be a vibrant hub of opportunity and education in the heart of San Francisco, but the facility and especially the surrounding grounds have been neglected by CCSF since 2020. On the Ashbury Street side of the campus, the sidewalk is broken, there are very few streetlights and the trees and weeds are completely overgrown. A tent encampment of 4-6 tents (including furniture, motorcycles, shelving and other items) has also developed and rendered the sidewalk unusable. Neighbors have had to call police for drugs, knife fights, fires and screaming from the tents. It's not a good situation at all and very embarrassing for City College. I would avoid it.

I'm a community member living near the John Adams campus.

This campus is in a deep state of neglect. The perimeter of the campus is dark and overgrown. Because of this appearance of neglect the area has become a magnet for homeless encampments, street sleepers and drug users. We regularly find used needles in the tree wells and other locations on the perimeter of the campus. In the past few months, the encampment dwellers has been increasingly disruptive; starting fires, starting violent street fights, and housing drug dealers.

I would worry for the safety of any students or staff who has to frequent this campus.
