John Muir Health Urgent Care Center reviews
12Not a single professional or capable person here. DO NOT GO HERE! Each doctor is an independent contractor and has no interest in the human being they’re serving. A pediatrist had an hour and a half conversation with me about her former job, refused me care to heal and offered me custom inserts instead. I was charged 395 for this conversation. I am not able to see my Primary care physician even though I pay monthly for this visit. I was told to go to urgent care instead. There are GYM bros walking through the middle of this healthcare facility. The Parking is awful. An all around disgusting place that is not at all interested in treating patients but is dedicated to ensuring you gain at least one new ailment at your visit. Should be shut down for being a health hazard. AVOID!
I signed up for a new health insurance plan starting in July 2023 with the explicit goal of returning to a former primary care/women's health provider at John Muir who I liked. When I called in July, the earliest appointment I could get with her for an annual exam was December 20th. I took the appointment. In mid-November I get a call saying my appointment needs to be rescheduled because the doctor will no longer be available (later told she is taking some days off because she's getting ready for retirement. Good for her!). The earliest appointment I was offered was January 26, but on a call back the soonest appointment with this doctor was in MARCH 2024. I am done. John Muir should consider staffing this location with doctors who can actually provide basic primary care services that don't take 6 months- but actually, 9 months after you wait 5 to be rescheduled- to receive.
I spent 45 minutes this morning trying to find another urgent care clinic that was covered by my daughters Medi-Cal plan, just because of the miserable reviews of this urgent care. Finally we went in, and we had a great experience. Check-in staff was super nice and helpful and got us in as a walk/in appointment instantly. Nurse was very friendly with my 3-year-old and skilled at testing kids. Dr. Shic came in and explained the test results and we were on our way.
I’ve had too many things go wrong here: messed up tests where I had to go back and get my blood drawn 3 times, messed up appointments. It’s scary since this is your health.
Save yourself the stress and even your life and find somewhere else that doesn’t make these kind of mistakes.
They are incapable of getting something as simple as a prescription right. A few months ago I spent several hours trying to get them to fix my prescription. My gp never bothered to even write it up so she wasn't going to respond? I went to urgent care and that Dr was great to talk to but he messed up his notes and it took so many hours of leaving messages and going over there and NOTHING until I finally called the office manager, Andronique, and she straightened it out.
But that was only for one 90 day supply. 3 months later, they have screwed it up again and NO ONE is fixing it. Not Andronique, NO ONE.
NO ONE. CARES ABOUT SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A PRESCRIPTION!
I liked the last Dr I worked with in urgent care another time too, Schumber (I think).
My take is that if you need to sign up with these folks for whatever reason, only go to urgent care (they're the only Dr.s who aren't self satisfied snobs and take you seriously) and then make sure the nurse has your prescription right before you leave.
YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO FIX IT ONCE YOU LEAVE
BECAUSE
ONCE AGAIN
THEY DO NOT CARE!
Horrible patient care, I would never recommend this place to anyone. Wish I could give 0 stars.
Spent 30 mins by phone (to someone outsourced) giving insurance info only to show up and have the staff tell me they don’t accept any HMO that isn’t their own so I would have to pay as a non-insured person. They didn’t advice me of that when I made the appointment, but admitted they were supposed to. On top of that they expected me to agree to mystery pricing for imaging despite the legal requirement of Good Faith Estimates upfront! They contribute to the financial woes of our US healthcare system in my opinion
This place is pretty much useless. It’s appointment care, and NOT with specialists! It’s also NOT UCSF. Their website is completely misleading. However if you ever want your pain dismissed, or to be prodded by a doctor who doesn’t know very much, this is the place for you.
The check in lady (Cathy) is rude and didn't like what my daughter said and told her well you wouldn't be seen today. I plan on filing a complaint.
People seem to have mixed experiences, but mine was really good. Nurses were really nice and Dr. Scott didn't rush me at all. Great visit.
I went to get help with a chrons disease flare.
They would not help, all they did was line their pockets
Gave me an unneeded referral (to themselves), Failed to write me a single prescription for anything. I gave them my insurance and they failed to bill it in time till my insurance changed the next year (they had months).
so they sent me a 400 dollar bill for a referral.that I will not use because this place is a racket that doesn't even write prescriptions.
I have to return today due to the doctor not properly addressing my questions or providing proper education. My nephew tested positive for strep throat and all the doc did was give me medicine and then left.he didn't even educate me on strep throat or discuss that I might need meds for it. Also, he wrote the wrong prescription for my nephews and I waited several hours for him to change the prescription. My nephew has been uncomfortable and in pain.it.was beyond messed up. When I saw the doctor in the parking lot, I asked do I need antibiotics or do my nephew need antibiotics and he replied I don't know you guys aren't my patient and I would have to see y'all. He did say if symptoms show up, we should get tested. Although, my nephew with strept throat has been right under me. He is only 1 years old. Now I have to try to return to an urgent care seeing that I have a sore throat this morning.uh second trip in the rain.
