A moderate hike incline all the way to the lake. Take a rest when needed. The lake is stunning

This trailhead primarily serves the Donner Lake Rim Trail. I took it Summit Lake, which is a 4 mile one way moderate climb through intermittent forest. The views of the Donner area were great. The bridges were in disrepair but still passable.

Would have 5 stars but it gets busy for kids sledding so get there early. Otherwise it was a perfect free place to take my daughter sledding.
