Joi cafe is our FAVORITE place to eat healthy and nourishing vegan food (and I’m not even vegan, YET!) and drink delicious exquisite beverages and enjoy this unique and magical cozy high vibe community. So excited by the dining experience here many of us from Malibu make the fun and devoted pilgrimage over the hill to this oasis and Mecca of truly GOOD VIBES ONLY simply because the experience here is amazing and truly worth it. Finding a peaceful, soothing and still social, happy and lively hub of wonderful souls and guaranteed nurturing energy is a gift in this face paced world. Remember discovering this real magic place of culinary and visual delights when it first opened over eight years ago and I’m a dedicated follower…and I don’t follow anything or anyone usually and this is my first time in my life I’ve ever written a review. The BEST! All the stars and beyond for this great cafe. Thank you for creating a welcome inclusive atmosphere of love and conscious eating pleasure. Own your magic. Warmth. BRB.

The food is sooo good and quality is AMAZING! Love this place so much! The soups are my ride or die when under the weather. The salads are beyond and nothing is forgotten! The food is healing and beautiful! We need more places in the world like this!

I LOVE Joi! 5 stars all around! The breakfast bagel is my favorite but anything I’ve tried is also amazing.

Seconding Sarah Stiriss review. Overpriced for low value. Saw the photos and ordered the exact same thing. Veggies bland. My friend asked for habanero sauce and it had no flavor or spice. Also the salsa that came with what I ordered was also bland. Interesting I had the same experience on the same day with the same dish. Something they’re using for the salsa is just not working….

PS I have no idea who Sarah Stiriss is, so you can rest assured my review is totally unbiased!

Joi Cafe has been and will always be my favorite place to eat. When I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease years ago, Joi was the only place I could eat where I never stressed about the quality of my food. My family and I eat/drink there at least twice a week since day one. We are so thankful to have them in our community! They also never disappoint as I’ve been eating there for YEARS and just today had the best pumpkin spice latte I’ve ever had in my life. They always surprise me and just get better and better!

Absolutely love this place. It is centrally located in the heart of westlake and is a great place to stop by for vegan options. Smoothies and bowls are filling and energizing. Coffee and teas are also a tasty go-to. Ordering online is super easy and always ready in a timely manner. Joi Cafe is a winner.

Joi Cafe and Joi the person are both amazing staples in the Westlake Village community. If you are looking for amazing vegan cuisine or just a chai latte then this is the place to go. Great atmosphere and amazing friendly staff. The owners Joi and Nic are usually always there and are very kind and friendly people. My wife and I enjoy going there regularly. There is a reason this place has been around for so long and seen so much success over the past decade.

I’m here almost daily. The best Matcha Tea Lattes on Earth, the best smoothies, the cinnamon rolls are beyond… honestly every thing I try and order becomes an obsession. Best vegan spot in town. Hand down. The owners and staff are so lovely and I love hanging out and working there. 100 STARS ️

JOi isn’t just a cafe, it is an aptly named experience! Every aspect of this neighborhood jewel is infused with love + attention to detail. Delectable, beautifully presented, quality food. Coffee and matcha drinks are insanely delicious works of art. THE SMOOTHIES! Carefully curated books + retail which support the overall magical vibe. JOi Cafe is a truly special space, a reflection of the owner herself…Joi. Looking forward to the opening of their new endeavor, JOiBIRDS in Thousand Oaks!

This is my go to weekly place. Just walking in makes me smile The staff is beyond friendly and the Owner is in there greeting people while busing tables and always smiling. I LOVE everything on the menu and the pure Joi coffee always warms my heart. Breakfast bagel sandwich and poke salad are my favorites and all the desserts.

The food here is amazing for anyone -even those who aren’t vegan! It’s fresh, delicious and the service and atmosphere are fantastic:) I have tried most things on the menu and even used Joi’s for catering on the holidays. Love them and can’t recommend highly enough!

I have been plant based for 8 years. I've eaten at hundreds of vegan restaurants. I am also the author of a NYT Bestselling and James Beard award winning cookbook. I first had the pleasure of eating at Joi Cafe before I knew anything about them because I did what every vegan does when they roll into a town they're unfamiliar with: type the word "vegan" in maps.

I believe in grading vegan restaurants solely upon their merits. I do NOT believe in grade inflation because "they're vegan, " "they're trying, " "they're nice people" (other than customer service). Indeed, I find grade inflation to be at least partially responsible for the amount of "meh" vegan restaurant options and, now, their rapid demise, which ultimately hurts the movement by reinforcing the notion that vegan food = bad food. In sum, the overwhelming majority of vegan restaurants I've tried in the past 8 years have been. "not great. "

I say all of this to bolster the credibility of my evaluation for Joi Cafe. My first meal consisted of their Caesar Salad and Broccoli Cheddar Soup. I instantly knew that whoever created these dishes understood not just flavor (the soup), but was a master of texture (the salad). I delighted in each caper buried between conveniently sized hunks of purple kale; was soothed at the sight of nori (an ingredient not usually found in Western establishments) sprinkled between the greens; and utterly amazed by the tang from the dressing.

Do I like everything on the menu? No. Joi's menu is far too diverse to please every taste every time. But I love so much of the menu, I go back at least 5 times a week. Sometimes it's the Caesar Salad, today it was the bagel sandwich, and tomorrow, it'll almost certainly be the Acai Bowl (the best I've ever had-the creator was smart enough to understand you can't just put the "toppings" on top!). I love that there are plenty of options that do NOT have alternative meat-just plain beans, potatoes, greens, and fruit.

The dishes on this menu weren't thrown together by someone who watched 17 YouTube videos and now thinks they know how to cook (which is what I sometimes think is the case for most vegan restaurants). Whoever designed the food on this menu knew what they were doing, employed skills that obviously took decades to develop.

If you found the food tasteless, bland, or subpar, it's likely you went on a very very very bad day (which is hard to believe since I've gone hundreds of times and NEVER experienced this) OR your tastebuds are defective.

Where do I begin! The owner JOi was such a gem. I was a bit indecisive when ordering because it was my first time and she literally walked me through every item and was so helpful and sweet. Then the food was to die for! Literally I have been back every day since. And I have been lucky enough to have been greeted by JOi every time. I recommend this cafe to anyone and everyone that knows what good customer service is and what quality food tastes like.

Boring, undercooked and over priced. Initially was excited for unique veg options. Potatoes nearly raw, veggie patty cold and barely cooked inside, veggies bland, no flavor. I asked for cooked potatoes to replace mine but they never came. Salsa bland. Fun tuna side was edible, can't say much more than that. Dry toast with nothing on it? No thanks. Thanks for the butter upon request (I don't eat much butter/marg but was hoping to make this breakfast edible) but it also didn't have any flavor, couldn't save that toast. I found this breakfast a waste of time, money and tummy space.

This is the 3rd time coming here after a few months. I was so disappointed that they removed most of the good items they used to sell. I ordered the hamburger and it literately came apart. It didn’t have much flavor. I had to request more sauce. I paid almost $20 for something that it wasn’t enjoyable. Not coming back here again
