We love Josée! After my daughter was born, I had issues getting her to latch and keeping her awake long enough to feed, and she wound up losing a worrying amount of weight, which led her to the emergency room. Of course, I spiralled into a ball of anxiety and self-doubt. How could breastfeeding be so difficult?

A referral led me to Josée, who I credit with turning around not only my baby's weight gain trajectory, but also saving my sanity in these early newborn days. Through a few sessions (both virtual and at my home), she taught me a bunch of new feeding positions, told me how to use my pump effectively, gave me endless advice on boosting my milk supply, and helped me learn how to improve my daughter's sleep habits (a lifesaver!). She also helped monitor my baby's weight to be sure she was gaining appropriately.

Finally, but no less important, was her empathetic kind demeanor - she's like a lactation guru and therapist rolled into one. I now feel so much more confident about breastfeeding and even just taking care of a newborn in general.

I highly recommend Josée for any new parent - whether you're experiencing tough times or just need some new baby tips and tricks.

Josée was an absolute life saver! I made an appointment with her due to recurring milk blebs, and some issues breastfeeding my baby. She was so incredibly helpful. I'm so glad I found her because I was ready to give up breastfeeding because it was so painful. She took her time helping me in person, setup a pumping schedule for my return to work and then followed up with me making sure my milk blebs finished healing. Now I'm informed, ready, and prepared to continue breastfeeding my baby. I thank God I found her!

Joseé is an ANGEL. She is incredibly wide and such an amazing resource. On top of her obvious knowledge, she has the most calming presence and is exactly the type of person you want around after having a baby when everything seems hectic! She made us feel so comfortable and was such a great cheerleader (we felt so confident every time she left!)

We worked with her a few times over 2 months. She helped us through a few major issues including: weaning off a nipple shield, engorgement / clogged ducts, mastitis, pumping, over supply / overactive letdown. She gave us tips, knowledge, and advice that we use *every day*.

We met Josée just a day or two after our daughter, born three weeks early and oh-so-tiny, came home from the hospital. At a time when everything was new, unexpected, wonderful but also challenging and overwhelming, Josée was a grounding, comforting, compassionate, as well as extremely knowledgeable and supportive presence. Josée has been a godsend during what has hands down been one of the most challenging experiences of my life. Her knowledge is vast and her compassion is deep. She goes above and beyond every expectation and always makes me feel so supported, cared for, and encouraged. I never realized how vital the role of lactation consultant would be for me and in Josée it’s been the difference between surviving the experience and thriving through it.

Breastfeeding with my first daughter was a physically challenging and emotionally traumatic experience. By the end of our first day, the hospital had me “triple feeding” (nursing, supplementing with a bottle, and using an electric pump) due to what they perceived was low milk supply. They kept me on that plan for over 2 months without sign of improvement or change. I felt shamed, misunderstood, and unseen. Worst of all, I felt I was missing heartfelt bonding time with my baby every time I was attached to that silly pump! After 2 months, I gave up and began exclusively feeding her with formula. This was a great decision at the time, but I didn’t yet know Josée.

When I learned I was pregnant with my second daughter, I needed help to redefine my relationship with nursing. It felt critically important to me that I work with a person who could empathize with my past experiences, and help me approach breastfeeding as if for the first time - with an open, curious mind. I found that support and so much more in Josée!
