My experience was so great. The staff at Joy Wellness is beyond professional. I felt safe during my procedure. They explained everything before and during as it was happening. I got the SGB. They explained that we expect to see congestion, eye droop, flushing and possible voice change or hoarseness. So when these things occurred I knew it was all ok. After the first side I seemed to be able to sleep for a longer time throughout the night and I didn’t have my reoccurring nightmares that I have been struggling with. Today I did the other side. I'm so glad I decided to get hydrodissection and PRP from Dr. Meng and Martyna at Joy Wellness Partners. From the moment I walked in, everyone made me feel right at home. The procedures provided immediate relief for my nerve pain, and after a couple months I wasn't feeling any pain at all in my neck, mid, or lower back. I honestly can't say enough good things about my experience. If you've been dealing with chronic pain, I really encourage you to consider trying their methods. It was absolutely worth it for me to find relief!

It has been almost five years since I wrote my first review (after receiving the Stellate Ganglion Block in 2018-see below). In the years since then, my awareness of the services offered at this remarkable wellness center has increased and I have experienced more of the available treatments, from IVs and wellness counseling to hormone balancing and acoustic wave therapy. I can happily report that the left shoulder pain I endured for quite a few years is now virtually non-existent following treatment I received at Joy Wellness Partners in early 2020. Most recently, after several acoustic wave therapy sessions, I can attest to positive gains in belly cellulite reduction (can we call it "bellulite? !? "). And day after day, in the background, is the improvement to overall health, immunity, and movement that I've experienced since beginning bio-identical hormone balancing under Joy Wellness Partners' customized treatment and care. I am healthier, sleep and move better, rarely get sick anymore, and just plain feel better than I thought I would on the cusp of 60 years of age. I would not have classified myself as a likely candidate for a Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB), since I don't suffer from PTSD. However, after a lifetime of mothering (my little sister during our years at elementary boarding school, and our own six children-two of them parentless when we adopted them) and the feeling that I was responsible for making everything right for these loved ones, my "brain map" showed a fairly burned out brain. Taina, the BrainTrain specialist at Joy Wellness Partners, recommended a SGB to see if it could reset my brain waves and repair the damage of a lifetime of self-imposed angst. I agreed, thinking, "It can't hurt. "
Now, after almost two weeks since receiving the SGB from Carol Bender, NP, under ultrasound guidance from Dr. Shawn Tierney, DC, RMSK, I have definitely noticed some positive results. For one thing, I have a clearer mental focus ("less static" may be a good way to describe it), which allows me to corral my thoughts and keep them from running ahead to the next thing, or back to things that already happened. In other words, I find it easier to stay 'in the moment" than I did before. In this mental posture, I am able to enjoy more and worry less, which is a very good thing!
Another positive change I have noticed is that I am dreaming again. I used to dream often at night, but in the last few years, I have only dreamed during naps. Taina (at BrainTrain) told me that dreams are evidence of REM sleep, where the brain repairs itself and regains valuable neuroplasticity.
My husband, who had an SGB the same day as I did, noticed that he is not biting his nails as frequently, if at all, now. I've also noticed that his responses to mishaps during the day (a stubbed toe, for example) are far less dramatic than they used to be, and that his emotional equilibrium returns more quickly than before.
All of this is to say that the brain mapping offered by Taina (BrainTrain, at Joy Wellness Partners) and the SGB we received from Carol Bender and Dr. Shawn Tierney have been positive change agents for my husband and me. No wonder there is such a positive, energetic vibe reverberating throughout the Joy Wellness Partners clinic!
