Dined as a party of 5 on a Saturday night. It was many of first times trying out Juniper and Ivy and we had pretty high hopes. We ordered several small plates to share including tuna wrapped in sesame leaves, tostada, yellowtail crudo, beef tare tare on sourdough, persimmon burrata, black cod entree, and flatiron steak with trumpet mushroom. For me the flavor was off for the beef tare-tare and over seasoned on the cod. Otherwise everything else ranged from good to pretty good. The service was cordial, but we did have a repeated misunderstanding over a corn allergy at the table, which resulted in having to re-do the Tostada dish 4-5 times. It was a bit comedic, but also baffling to see at this level of dining.

Overall, the experience was underwhelming and I cannot say that I’m too eager to try another round of tostadas.

Absolutely fantastic experience with a large group at Juniper and Ivy. Food was spectacular. We ordered from a fixed menu, and everything inluding the salad was fresh and delicious. Wine and drink selection is great and service was perfect, my glass wasn't empty the entire time. Truly an experience. Come here for a romantic evening or with a group!

A great experience in dining. If you like food, this is a place in San Diego you need to go to. Perfect for a special day or an ordinary day you want to make special.

Excellent food, excellent service.

Hand rolls -4/5
Toast - 5/5
Burrata - 5/5
Quinoa bowl - 4/5
Duck - 5/5

The duck was definitely the highlight of our meal, perfectly crisp skin and it came with delicious barley (who knew) and pearl onions.

Unique dining experience. The small plates were so delicious. There were 4 of us and we shared all the dishes.

Arguably the best dining experience I’ve had and I’ve had plenty in NYC, Boston, Chicago and the East Coast! Ryan paired me perfectly with three different small plates and wines to complement each. Nick who is one of the general managers was a first-class gentleman and Erin was very sweet throughout the night! Anyone who is stopping by San Diego needs to stop by this place!

The persimmon salad with burrata, great. The quinoa bowl with pumpkin.also tasty. Prices a little steep for the amount you get but a good experience overall.

Phenomenal drinks, food and wonderful service. Went for an anniversary and they even printed happy anniversary on our menus. Will be back next time I'm in town and will reccomend to any friends visiting the area.

We are not from San Diego but made reservations in the Open Table app about a few weeks before traveling. It was very easy & convenient. After reading several reviews we decided to try this place out and we were not disappointed. We also went to Animae but I'll do a different review for that one. The food here was better.

We were there on a Friday night and it was busy but our table was ready and we were early. The place was packed. Some of the workers wore masks but not all workers.

We ordered the chicken and the black cod as our entrées. We had smoked sturgeon and caviar to start with. I had an alcoholic pear drink (I can't remember the name) and my daughter had lemonade.

The caviar went paired nicely with the Carmel onion madelines. It was smokey, sweet, salty, rich & delicous. My only complaint was that 3 madelines was not enough. We still had half of the caviar left & nothing to eat it with.

The description of the Chicken: chestnut bread pudding, citrus fern, brown butter apple sauce. The chicken was so moist & juicy. I was not expecting that at all. The meat was so tender. It looked like it was rolled with something in the middle and still had skin on it. It was flavorful. The bread pudding was surprisingly good as part of this savory dish. It all paired well together. It left me wondering how it was cooked because it was so perfectly done.

Description of the Black Cod: turnip chowder, smoked pork belly, mussels, yuzu aioli, nori croutons. The dish was very flavorful. The pork belly was an interesting addition to the cod and the dish was very rich and flavorful.

We were both too full for dessert but we will be back the next time we are in San Diego.

We asked the chef to do a menu tasting played with 1/2 glasses of perfectly paired wine. It was hands down, the best mean I've had in my life. What an amazing experience. My taste buds feel like they just went to Disneyland. Happiness abound. Thank you chef and server.

Pretty good time and alright food, not about to leave negative ratings when restaurants are hurting so bad. They did have a Butternut tortellini pasta dish that was outstanding everything else was just pretty good. My main complaint is the lack of higher end Burbons and they ran out of one of high end wines by the glass. I’m thinking this place might be in financial trouble just from the lack of liquor inventory at the bar. I hope they can bounce back it’s a really cool layout and vibes.

Bread was 7/10
Chicken was 6/10
Lamb Bolognese was like hamburger helper

I feel bad the food wasn’t better, because the service was great and the ambience was really nice. Not fine dining, in my opinion. And food was subpar. Sorry

Ribeye was incredible, but the uni pasta was the star of the show. You can tell it's homemade and fresh. Unforgettable texture! If you like uni, you CANNOT pass it up

Very trendy, upscale restaurant. The staff was beyond accommodating, friendly, and helpful. We went to dinner for our anniversary and when we arrived the host greeted us, wished us a happy anniversary, and brought us over 2 glasses of champagne. Not only that, but when we looked at our menus they actually had “Happy Anniversary” and the date written on them! Definitely all about the details here. We liked the PSL cocktail but not a fan of the pear one. The food was good but not as amazing as you’d expect it to be for the prices. The caramel apple yodel was our favorite thing we ate followed by the tempura fried maitake (mushrooms).

Upscale food and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor dining. Excellent wait staff. Food ranging from Coquille St Jacques to wild boar. All of it was delicious. Parking can be an issue in this area. Allow extra time.

Was here for my buddy's wedding. Staff was really nice and accommodating. My wine glass was always refilled. Food was great too. Ambience of the place is something to take of note as well
