Kabosu Japanese Cuisine reviews
15We did have to wait outside for about an hour but what we were in the food was awesome the service was great
This place it’s amazingly delicious, number two in Los Angeles why number two not because of the food the food it’s very high level of sushi place, they have everything made authentic and beautiful and the most important delicious.
They have always problem with parking and reservations, and this place needs to be upgraded for more people to dine in
I used to think of this place as "the place I'd settle for if Sushi Yuzu (which is across the street) has a long wait". In the past, the food always seemed "almost" as good as Sush Yuzu.
Well, it seems things have changed. I visited this past weekend, sitting at the sushi bar, and experienced some of the best sushi I could recall in recent years. And, I've been around the sushi-block so to speak.
We had at least 5 different sashimi orders as well as a few hand rolls, tempura and a cut roll or two. All were delicious. On par or better than what I recall from Sushi Yuzu.
Bravo Kabosu!
Food was imaginative and delicious. Really good fish and excellent rice.
Unfortunately the place is really barren and when it gets busy and people start talking inside, it gets *loud*. Really loud, so loud that next time I'll be sitting outside.
We were early my friend was already there. I arrived a little later but we were the only people in there when I arrived. Took a long time to get a drink and then a longer time to get a menu and very few people still in there. I watch the service pass our table over and over and finally my friend ask if we could order, and she said in a minute. Although the food was excellent the service was not and I won't be back.
Decent Japanese restaurant in Toluca Lake with indoor and outdoor seating. It was fairly busy when we went at lunch. Salmon teriyaki was good, Zaru soba was only okay; noodles felt a little under done and the sauce was on the weak side.
Not the best place I've been to, but will give it another shot sometime.
Some of the freshest, tastiest sushi in the San Fernando Valley. Great service with unique menu items. A5 Wagyu sushi is a must try.
Food is good but always a long wait and they pick and choose who they want to seat first. People walk past you and get a table without reservations. Need a better process to make sure people not waiting longer than they need to based on time of arrival.
Service was disaster, we had to wait almost 10 minutes till some one showed up. Orders were late, food is ok and fish taste above average. 2 stars for service only food is 4 stars.
So their sushi was delicious, their sake was too but this place is really overpriced for the amount of food you get, even for really great sushi. Which this was good but I've had better sushi at other more inexpensive places. You're not even paying for the "ambience" or anything because if you're inside, it's a small plain room that is extremely noisy (maybe get some sound treatments) or outside on the sidewalk by the main road. Also went there on a Thursday night and the wait was supposed to be 45 mins for an outside table and then at the 45 min mark, the hostess called and said it would be another 40 min for an outside table, which was ridiculous so we sat inside instead.
Authentic Japanese menu. % Creative & Delicious! I don't know what else it's used on, but the sauce on the garlic edamame is house-made & incredible. Don't miss it!
Rather pretentious place with 45 minute wait while half of the tables are empty. Food is on par with your average restaurant in little Tokyo.
This is a somewhat higher end sushi restaurant in Toluca Lake on Ventura Blvd.with excellent food and the availability of outdoor (sidewalk) dining. Even though it is higher end, I would choose to come back here, since the food really is good and the service was great.
Great quality. This is the standard I judge all other sushi places by. Fresh ingredients and their spicy mayo is very unique and delicious.
