Kaiser Downey Urgent Care Building D (purple)

I was honestly a little bit hesitant to come here because of the bad reviews. But my experience was nothing but excellent. I didn't have to wait at all. The nurses and doctors were very friendly, kind and knowledgeable. I would definitely come back here without any hesitation.

Took my daughter in because she sprained her ankle, took them 3 1/2 hours to call her in for vitals, another hour to call her in. Took another hour after x-rays for the doctor to see her. We were there for a little over 5 hours. Smh

They did a fantastic job of taking care of my painful cyst, I waited about 2-3 hours totals.

The Doc was not helpful at all. He just gave me antibiotics and said that my problem was probably due to an infection, but was not sure if it was. He did not explain anything. Unprofessional and careless.

I had a great experience. I heard lines could be long, so I got there around 8: 20am and there were already about 15-20 people in front of me. Opening time was 9am and they opened the doors a little after 9. By 9: 15 I was checked in, my vitals had been taken, and I was in a room waiting to speak with the doctor! All of the staff were friendly and compassionate and they quickly found a solution my medical problem.

Brought my father in for an emergency with a foot injury and received very poor and insensitive treatment. She was so rude too. Didn’t give any advice or information. Any question I asked… her answer was “it’s up to you”. When she removed his toe nail she rolled her eyes when he grunted. So insensitive and short with her answers. Didn’t give us a heads up before she did anything. We were there for 4 hours.

I have a concern for Kaiser employees I don’t understand why Kaiser allows aggressive behavior from patients and allows employees and patients safety to be at risk I pay over 2,000 dollars a month for my family membership
I was in urgent care on 11/09/2022 at around 11 am I was checking in on 133 purple building half of the lobby is to Check in and the other half is used to take your blood pressure when a gentleman walked in and started talking loudly to a nurse the gentleman was upset because of the wait time the nurse kept being professional even though the gentleman was using profanity the nurse kept asking him questions he was rude and and agitated the gentleman was answering with profanity when i looked to my left I noticed that the nurse was against the wall and as I was walking out the gentleman was in front of her face for a minute I was thinking he is going to hit her even though the gentleman kept telling her you worthless you call your self a nurse you have a bad service I need to wait more time dam the nurse replied thank you please wait outside the gentleman got more agitated the gentleman then said I need to speak with your supervisor or manager or someone the nurse simply replies ok please wait outside sir the gentleman declines to move from chair another lady opens the door and ask the gentleman how could we help you the gentleman replied I need to talk with a supervisor or manager regarding her customer service at the time the lady nurse who was against the wall finally was able to move and went to the back am not sure if the gentleman was able to speak with management or not I walked away as soon as I saw the lady nurse was safe am still in shock why would Kaiser allow this type of behavior and doesn’t protect their employees

Too long, they forget patients by drs and nurses have no control of what they have in there! It’s like a farm I’ve been at other urgent cares this one by far bad!

Waiting like was like 3-4 hours but in most places for urgent care can be worse so I was ready to be there for some time. The nurse was super nice, and once moved from the main waiting room every was pretty fast.

Listen, I’m an employee of Kaiser and this pediatric urgent care is a joke. You have to go through circus hoops just to be seen in URGENT CARE! Because there’s never a same day visit available unless you call before 7am. In order to be seen in urgent care, you have to have a phone consultation with a doctor and they determine if you will be seen in Urgent Care. If you make it that far, they give you an appointment BUT regardless of the appointment time it’s FIRST COME FIRST SERVE so line yourself up before 5pm cause they don’t honor the appointments. After waiting for 2 hours, you will be briefly seen and given a phone appointment for the next day (but less than 24hrs from appt) to see if symptoms are still present and if they are you need to come back again that night to do the whole circus over again. Moral of the story, DON’T GO TO DOWNEY KAISER URGENT CARE! Go to Garden Grove instead, they have a better system and you don’t have to fight fire to get adequate care. I’m going to transfer care to Orange County because Downey is understaffed and disorganized. Seriously, I don’t know who their Department Administrators are but they are out of touch with the community and not acting like advocates of healthcare.

I would give it zero stars if it was an option. I took my daughter to urgent care two different occasions and was denied care both times, I was told they don’t see pediatric patient because the doctors are not trained to see them (ridiculous if you ask me) and the second times was they didn’t have any face to face appointments anymore, I drove all the way to Garden Grove and was seen under an hour and all the staff there where awesome, my daughter ended up having an ear infection. I just don’t understand why did Kaiser close down the pediatric urgent care in bellflower and didn’t have a replacement for that and us parents have to seek care miles away. SMH….

I went to urgent care last night and after waiting an hour was told it was to late to have lab work done. Told to come back tomorrow and start all over again. I have severe stomach pain and after waiting an hour just to check in now I'm told I have to wait 3 hours to be seen by a Dr. Then I will have to wait for the lab.work.that will be another 2hours! I have nothing good to say about Keiser.

Good care when you can get it. My daughter is sick so we had to take her to Santa Ana to be seen.

The wait time is ridiculous.
The nurse that took care of me was rude. She did not like it when I complaint to her of the wait time just to register yourself.

If I could give them zero stars! They are the most incompetent so called medical urgent care! And to top it off Kaiser got a Medical government contract to service more people, they can't give good service to their already existing patients. So don't go here you are better off going the ER! Shame on you Kaiser!

Terrible Urgent care they refused to see my son due no walk in. They send us to section Pediatric section Purple D. Extremely terrible as well. I took my son because he had a fever that was Flectuating 103.1 - 100.1. Instead of seeing my son. They do a phone call. My son lot cried a lot and had a high Tempature. Me and my wife had to take him to a clinic just to get help. Turns out he had a throat infection. Honestly this is the worst hospital. For full coverage.they are the worst. A hospital that does phone calls instead of seeing there patient. That is pathetic and unprofessional. A hospital is suppose to see their Patient because it is their job. A hospital is suppose to help the ones in need. This hospital just proves me that they do not care for their Patient well being. I am honestly considering changing health insurance because of the unprofessional care. I honestly thought this hospital was best but it is the worst

Don't bother bringing your children if the sun is up. This urgent care does not see children in the day time and instead make telephone appointments for many hours later which are problematic being that they can't actually see what if anything is wrong with your child. What a waste of time.

This place and Kaiser in general is just beyond pathetic. I attempted to visit the urgent room in the morning hours and I was denied because they only take adults, however I was advice over the phone to go visit this urgent care so my son can be evaluated. I attempt to visit his pediatrician on the Cudahy office and I was denied because he has no appointment. I visit the ER and there was a ridiculous line of 20+ Sick patients and ONLY 1 patient was registered within 1hr. I also tried the Pediatrics Urgent care and my son was denied because he had no appointment. I mean what’s the point of paying a premium when medical service are not provided. This medical agency has little to concern for their patients. I mean a phone call was all I could get but how is that going to help my child. Please! This is beyond frustrating minus 0 stars for this place. RIDICULOUS PLACE DEFINITELY GOING TO LOOK FOR A NEW HEALTH CARE PROVIDER.

The receptionist are extremely rude and unprofessional. Kaiser needs to address this issue.
