The 3rd one is a charm let’s see. I Was schedule for the 31st of March for some reason wasn’t scheduled someone forgot not sure I confirmed…It got rescheduled for today they supposed to order medicine prior to my surgery I went to pick up to the pharmacy wasn’t on the system they told me go back to the office they will give to you lol went there the lady says I can’t get a hold of the doctor we will call you and follow up! This was before today supposedly the prepping! I got so many calls and they ask if I have all the medication I told I only have a kit for surgery nothing else they said that’s fine ok I’m not on the medical field I don’t know what you need logistics on this place has to improve today they get me ready for surgery take me to the surgery room put anesthesia etc then I wake up two hours later they say we cannot perform the surgery you have to take some medication prior send me home not really able to walk I haven’t ate for several hours when I was at the restaurant my arm was hurting so much and it was swelling I had long sleeves they left my IV and needle with blood on the tube unsanitary open on the outside after several calls they said come back we will remove it for you and I ask again when my surgery is been rescheduled no one have call me yet not sure what’s going I spoke to a manager name Lisa. FYI, I’ve been stressed out about this and it’s taken a toll on my mental health.

I have the utmost confidence in my care at Kaiser. The facility is beautiful and the staff are great.

Kaiser experience, absolutely awful. NEVER again.

I am a Kaiser patient and I can't even get a referral from a Kaiser Physician to get another opinion from outside of Kaiser. I will likely have to go to Mexico to get "medical care" because of my lack of success getting care through Kaiser and they are not giving me a referral to go to Stanford. I'm not sure why exactly, but Kaiser physicians won't give referrals to outside physicians.

Its so sad that I will be going to Mexico to get care likely, because i can't get a simple referral.

Really disappointed in this Kaiser. For having a brand new emergency room they have everyone being seen in the waiting room in cubicles. The doctors are very unempathetic and the wait times are outrageous. This place sucks.

The Kaiser Permanente Medical Complex in Redwood City is like a city within a city. It is intricate and labyrinthine with hidden avenues and unspoken rules. I love it. However, they lack gender neutral bathrooms, which makes gender non-binaries like me feel discriminated against. This should change.

I love the artwork and open spaces in the newer facilities on Maple Street. I would like to see the wider adoption of 3D printing technology to enable the customization of medical products for KP patients. For example, I have a torn tendon in my left hand for which I need to wear a plastic splint for 6 weeks. The splints come in a limited array of sizes and don’t accommodate smaller fingers easily. A 3D printing option would allow for perfectly fitting splints and other medical implements needed for healing and recovery.

There is an opportunity here to combine high quality health care with cutting edge technology that would make KPRC a worldwide leader. The CEO, Richard Isaacs, should consider it. I am happy to help.

I am writing this review for my dad who was in the ICU - Neurology department at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City in early Jan. 2022. The service he received from his Doctor, Dr. Rao, and the entire Neurology team and ICU Team, was outstanding. He was an in-patient for almost 4 days, and Dr. Rao was there every morning to check up on him and see how he was doing. Dr. Rao also called me and updated me regularly on his prognosis. We were unable to visit him due to COVID guidelines, however, the ICU nurses/doctors kept us informed, and even called us so my dad could speak to us. I felt very comfortable and at peace knowing my dad was in the hands of the excellent team at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City. THANK YOU to each of you!

At Kaiser, you are a number - not a whole, human, feeling individual. While there are definitely employees who are considerate, compassionate and amazing, the overall care is inconsistent, disjointed and formulaic/cold.

I visited this medical center in Redwood City but I am not sure for what reason I came here. Of course not for myself. I brought a grandma here for her checkup I think. Very nice and very friendly staff. And the care they took was fantastic. Thank you very much for your service! Loved it!

I am so upset with this Kaisers ER and hospital. My sister who is 70 years old had been sick not knowing what it is. Weakness dizzy chest pains can’t eat hardly at all has been to this kaiser 3 times. I have ask them please can’t you admit her to see what it’s is. They keep saying different things but she continues to get worse. They already did a covid test negative and some other test but they keep sending her home and continue to get worse. I talk with my sister everyday 3 times a day to check on her There is no excuse for them not to admit her. At least for observation. I talk to member services too. I am so worried about her

I recently had neurosurgery at Kaiser Redwood City. The experience was nothing short of phenomenal. The pre-op scheduling was done promptly and all visits occurred on a single day to minimize travel from San Francisco. My surgeon, Dr. Lewis Hou, did a remarkable job and the staff of 5 South provided excellent post op care. My surgery was on a Friday morning and I was discharged on Sunday late morning. I have nothing but praise for the entire Kaiser Permanente Neurosurgery team at Redwood City.

Labor and Delivery Department
The LD at RWC Kaiser is just awesome!
They are a team that will care for you and your needs. The nurses and midwives are very caring.
Thanks RWC Kaiser for helping us out.

My wife can not have an in-office visit in the last few months. Today, she tried to have a visit regarding the pain in the leg, and the doctor switch the in-office visit to a phone call right before the visit, and btw, my wife had a negative covid test. The last time doctor just prescribed her tramadol and didn't even try to figure out the reason for the pain. She still suffers from pain and we can not get help for the last half-year. The appointments get canceled or switched to online and/or phone instead of in-person visits. What next, kaiser will ask patients with hemorrhoids to show it into the camera during the online visit?

I was checked on the Emergency a few days ago. I don’t want to give any details about my condition but I was given a dirty and contaminated room. I asked the nurse if they can transfer me to a clean room and I was told that was the only one available— probably understaffed. The table was wet when I put my hands on there. I didn’t know what the spill was if it was orange juice or bodily fluids. I didn’t take a picture of it because the nurse wiped it off quickly when I had mentioned about it- thanks! The toilet had drops of someone else’s blood, the napkin dispenser had a coloplast bag used and opened, sink had dried blood, and the floor had remnants of small trash bits. I had to tell the nurse to have to call janitorial services.

I’m like “wow! ” This is totally unacceptable especially coming from a prominent hospital like Kaiser Permanente! I expected cleanliness and organization. I never should have been put into a room— not until it has been fully cleaned and sanitized! That’s a given already and isn’t that against Joint Commission standards? Questionable? That was freaking gross and I was disgusted! If the room was not ready, clean, and/or sanitized, at least have me wait for a few more minutes for the room to be cleaned before brining me in there!

Other than that, the doctor and nurses that took care of me were caring and nice! The janitor did a good job in cleaning. Their customer service was 9/10 but as far as my overall rating for the hospital it would be a 1 star because of the filthy and contaminated room I was put into, initially. It caught me off guard, seriously. I could have gotten sick from all that because of the possible exposure, which may pose as a high risk and/or liability issue (s) to my health and well-being.

They can’t keep staff. I’ve been assigned three GP’s in 4 years. Which means I’ve been getting younger doctors with little experience. I had to go to another state for a diagnosis. They didn’t have a 3D mammogram unless you’re a cancer patient. You’d think in Silicon Valley they’d be better equipped. So much red tape around getting tests run if you feel like something is wrong. I wish our job didn’t pay for Kaiser, I’d really like to have a choice to just go see a specialist if I’m concerned about something.

Just wanted to say today was a new start on my journey to get healthy. I picked a new Dr with my new benefits Dr. T she wanted me to call het. So as usual I get real nervous when I get my blood pressure checked and I have to wait to calm down. But Binita Gosai just took command relaxed me ordered me not to talk and just put me at ease. I really appreciate her professional patient care but above all made my initial visit outstanding. On another note DeDey the lady who checked me in went out of her way to actually show me and take me to the new building and gave me the numbers of the bloodwork unit and xray just a great experience to know these two woman made my first visit with Dr. T a true blessing. Thank you so much I hope they receive this from me Edward Trujillo

Great medical team, somewhat long wait.

EDIT: Stacey, I don't see a way to respond to your reply. It was the emergency room.

I went to Kaiser today at the 1150 Veterans Blvd location. I underwent an ultrasound and had some lab work performed. Everyone was very professional and made me feel comfortable. I arrived a little early to my ultrasound, and they were able to bring me back earlier than my scheduled appointment. Right after, I quickly was able to get my lab work completed. The whole experience took me less than an hour. I also got the results back from my ultrasound and urine test back in less than an hour!

Absolutely incompetent staff from the administration, nurses and doctors. They seem to not care about the patients well-being nor the families. They give little to no information on the patient and expect us to wait more than 24 hours for an update. When the patient was knowingling able to be contacted, they said there was not enough phones. They also do not care for the patient or families time. They give one discharge time and as we arrive from a 2 hour drive they haven't even begun discharge and said it would take 3 more hours. Ultimately stay clear from Kaiser and take your money and well-being elsewhere. I understand the times we are experiencing however it should not excuse the staff from giving the utmost care.
