I had a great experience here. I waited between tests quite a while, but I expect this when going to an emergency room. All of the staff and my doctors were AMAZING and caring. They took the time to address my worries and made me feel heard.

Around 5: 45 pm I went to ER for pain in R front stomach area. Everything went really quick at first, triage, admittance, even cat scan and X-rays. Test results took a bit of time but not too bad. Then came diagnosis. I needed an emergency surgery to remove an infected /inflamed gallbladder. It had been brewing for 5-6 days.
Then I was put in a bed in a hallway. For hours. They were admitting me and doing surgery at 8: 00am. I was first on the list so that’d guarantee a fresh and focused Dr to take care of me. That sounded good to me. Finally about 4: 45 am I was put in a room. As an add-on, A bed pushed under the window was my spot. There was a button to call a nurse but no speaker for me to communicate. My “roommate” had to do the talking for me. The one tv was not within my view …. I thought oh this is why I pay for insurance monthly. So if I’m ever sick I’ll be take. Care of. The surgery went well. The bad gallbladder was removed. I was in the hospital for 3 days. Although they kept pushing for me to leave the following day. Regardless of my blood pressure and oxygen levels being off. The nurses were less than excellent. To me anyways. I felt like they wanted me out of there and because I wasnt ready I was an irritation. This Kaiser was recommended to me … I was told this was the best place for service and total care. The surgeon was great and did a excellent job. As for the care afterwards it wasn’t recommendation worthy by any means. They didn’t abuse me or beat me but they certainly didn’t treat me like I felt I should have been and pay to be treated.

* I couldn’t believe I received a card “thanking me for allowing the nurses to take care of me during my hospital stay”. I thought it was a joke.
I forgot to mention when it was time for my discharge a nurse came to “walk me downstairs”. I was on the 3rd floor and had surgery 3 days prior. I was far from walking any distance. As we started walking (NO WHEEL CHAIR) the woman was walking way too fast for me. I said “I can walk this but I gotta tell right now I’m not going to be going very fast, at all! ”
She looked at me and said “maybe I should get you a wheel chair? ” I said yes that’d be good. She spotted one, grabbed it, and we took the elevator down. She wheeled me outside and dropped me off at the circle, in the cold, with all my craps in a bag and bucket …. And left me there. It was so unprofessional I couldn’t believe it really happened. So for them to send me a card to thank me is so off the wall.
I definitely won’t recommend this hospital to anyone I love or care about. Not if there’s going to be any time spent inside anyways.
What a joke

This ER deserves negative stars! Half the Drs aren't even certified to give any type of pain injections even tho the last visit they had one Dr do an injection. The staff is the rudest Ive never come across. The ER in Kaiser south is A HUNDRED TIMES BETTER! DON'T COME TO THIS ONE! I don't know if it's because of the area or what but man these nurses need to ask themselves why they got into the medical field in the first place. No one has any empathy and they will laugh in your face. Do not recommend.

EDIT: the Dr isn't certified to do a pain shot but the nurse is. Why are these Drs so highly paid for doing nothing.

Had a great experience at Kaiser ER on sat 12.16.
Came in with my mom for her heart problems. We spent close to 6 hours there, (less time then we expected to there) but that was mostly us waiting on her labs and other results to come in.
She was seen and evaluated fairly quickly. Everyone from the security, front office, ED techs, X ray techs, RNs, discharge nurses and phlebotomist were very professional and understanding. Dr. Daniel Atcheson was really compassionate and great, He listen to all my moms concerns and answered all of her questions. My mom was very satisfied with the care she received here. Would definitely recommend
Thank you to all the wonderful staff for all your hard work. You are greatly appreciate you!

Kaiser as a whole has always been a nightmare for my direct family literally missing skin cancer for 2 years and my eventual Multiple sclerosis diagnosis (discovered at a different hospital). The ridiculous visitor policy is one thing but to leave people outside the waiting room with zero seating accommodations in the heat of summer is an outrage. It is 101 degrees in this waiting area, I’m here with my young adult daughter who doesn’t want to sit inside without me but I can’t physically tolerate the heat because of my MS and the horrible affect on my central nervous system. To still continue to use Covid as an excuse to refuse support for people in need is ludicrous, especially since our own president has declared it is no longer a continuing threat. If you’re not going to let people support their loved ones inside, then you should definitely be providing appropriate facilities/accommodations for those people outside. People are literally having to tailgate…
BYOC!

Awful service. It's a terrible location to take kids. For this hospital, even 1 star is way too high. I had to wait there for HOURS with my child. We spoke with four to five of the nurses about sending a doctor to give my child a straightforward prescription. They will tell you “just a moment we will get a doc for you” then disappear. There is a reason why ER is called ER. However, some employees show disregard for others who have less serious problems than others. Please understand that youngsters cry, are frustrated, and are experiencing discomfort. Either improve your service or finish the work. Expect to sit for HOURS and watch your child in pain.

No Visitor policy is ridiculous and disgusting. They have family members wait outside with no accommodations in this heat separated from loved ones.

I had the worst experience at this emergency department. I had to leave without being seen by a doctor because of the rudeness from the nurses and receptionist. They do not care about you or how you are treated. Their excuse for the mistreatment is that they are understaffed. I would try somewhere else if you can.

So bad treatment we wait for 3 hours for x ray and the doctor just give us proscriptions and he doesn’t say any thing about the medication.
I didn’t imagine they treat people like this in the emergency room.

This is unlike any Kaiser I have ever been to and according to these other reviews this is a permanent state of affairs and from the looks of things they don't plan on getting any better.

I had a great experience at the Kaiser ER today. I had severe pain which ended up being diagnosed as sciatica. Wait time was pretty much zero, and everyone I interacted with, registration, triage nurse, clinical nurses, doctor, orderly, billing clerk.all very friendly and professional. I really treasure having such great care close by.

I came in for a really severe Migraine, vomiting, and stomache pain. I sat in the packed waiting room for almost two hours before I was moved to a hallway by a desk and computer. Other patients were sitting in the hall as well throwing up. There was dried blood all over the floor. Nurse's were grabbing used supplies and giving them to other patients. It was pure chaos. There was no organization, sanitation, professionalism, quality control, or anyway to get medical help. I had to leave after 3 hours to try to get help at another hospital. For your health and safety, avoid this ER if at all possible.

Been a Kaiser member for more than 30 years.
What the hell happened to this ER? This is what I pay for?
The most ridiculous experience of uncontrolled chaos ever. I went in with a severe headache. So bad it changed my vision, and very dizzy.
When I arrived there were a few people waiting to be seen, so I waited.
Because I was dizzy I was given the equivalent of a metal wire shopping cart to sit in, which made the pain worse.
And on top of that, the most medically unprofessional system of calling people up. Not one, not two, but three fellas with hard BOOMING voices hollering out peoples names. Patient privacy HIPPA compliance violation one. There are other ways and systems to call people up.

Patient privacy HIPPA compliance violation two.
Could not believe that ER doctors were walking right out into the lobby and discussing private, and confidential information with the patients in the lobby.
After waiting about 30 minutes, was wheeled back to a room for ten minutes, and spoke to the physician who ordered a CT scan. Then was wheeled back out to the lobby in the metal wire shopping cart. Myself and another patient waiting to be seen switched to the even more hideously uncomfortable (how is that even possible?) wooden waiting room chairs.
I wasn't called for more than 45 minutes, and, when I walked up to the desk to inquire about how much longer, was taken right back for the CT scan. What the hell? Then I waited another 45 minutes to get the results, I had had enough. With the three fellas BOOMING voice Hollering of names being called, no communication, rude/ inattentive waiting room staff, coupled with not being able to ease the pain and pressure in my skull, I signed a release and left.
I will be switching health care providers.

Blonde nurse/clerk (with yellow painted nails) who helped check in patients needs to reevaluate why she joined the medical field. Didn’t seem knowledgeable and was rude. Also had a flipped name tag… I guess that’s what you do when you are rude to patients. Other than that most staff was friendly and I did wait a while but they were busy and that’s understandable.

I am just now leaving the er from what was a very scary visit for me.
I am 46 yes old and have had many er trips.
This was by far the best treatment in many aspects I've had.
Thank you so much to the er staff across the board!

This place is horrible. Brought my daughter in because of a sore throat. They’re insistent on testing for Covid when there is absolutely no symptoms for it. Don’t waste your time with this place.
