Today was one of those days that Kaiser let me down, even when I didn't even visit their location. This location called me back just to tell me, I couldn't be seeing by a doctor because I don't have any symptoms of Covid19. I told them I was at high risk, my brother tested positive and he lives with me, they denied me. I needed to be seen anyways so I can clear things right away with my job. This is the 2nd time Kaiser has done this. I took myself to the East Side of the hood of Oakland, where they gladly helped me and i got tested. Honestly, I don't trust this testing location centers, but I had to. This is when Kaiser shows their true colors.

I got a vaccine today, I had to wait a lil longer than expected because my doctor needed to sign off on it but the lady who helped my Valinda was very nice and very helpful she made my experience very nice hope she is there again when I get my other upcoming vaccines.

The two times I went w/ my mom before today's appointment, the employees had let me in when I told them that my mom needs someone to go with her because she doesn't understand English very well & I, her daughter, will act as her translator to speak with the receptionist.

Today, my mom had another doctor's visit at 1: 40 PM & was told by the employee who checks in people before going in, that I'm not allowed to go w/ my mom to be her translator (she speaks Tagalog) because they "have translator" inside. In my head, I was like "do they really have translator for non-English speaker people when they check in the receptionist? Because as far as I know, they don't & even if they do, the "translators" are probably the nurses who are busy with patients & possibly do not have much time to act as translator. "

I stood on the grass area & 10-15 mins into me waiting, I saw the employee letting a old Caucasian couple to go inside but I was like "oh they are seniors and one of them is using a walker, so the person needs help". But I started to wonder when the employee had let another adult Caucasian pair/couple to go inside when only one of them had an appointment & both seems to be perfectly okay (I was close to the entrance/where they check people in so I could pretty much hear everyone's conversation). I observed & noticed that they let another adult Caucasian pair/couple to go in. So I was standing there, thinking and staring at the employee - how come, I couldn't go w/ my mom but they had let two pairs/couple of Caucasian (excluding the first couple) in? I wonder, is it the because my mom & I are Asian/Filipino? Is it because the other pairs/couples are Caucasian? Is it the the White privilege that the minorities do not have? Like why? I don't understand.

Around 30 mins into me waiting, old Mexican couple came in, husband also needs a translator like my mom and the wife wasn't let in but they had let in old/adult Caucasian couple in before them. Again, why? Okay, I understand that there's "translator" inside but how about those pair/couple who was let in when only one had an appointment? Why couldn't the employees tell them, "I'm sorry, ma'am/sir but only one of you is allowed to go inside due to COVID-19" Why? Are they scared bcos they are minorities & they were dealing with majorities?

When my mom and I arrived, another Asian couple was trying to go in together but the husband couldn't. Why? Is it because we are minorities and not privileged?

Also, while I was waiting, an Asian man arrived and the man only had the shield thing but no mask underneath. The lady employee was like "do you have a mask? ", the man said no & the employee was like "well, you can't go in like that, you have to go if you don't have a mask" then she tried to explain why the shield cannot be used without mask but when an old Caucasian man arrived w/ no mask, the employee was like "oh you don't have one? It's okay, we can get you one" after she asked the man where is his mask & the man responded that he doesn't have one. Why the rudeness to a minority but nice to a majority? Please somebody explain me the logic.

I was standing outside for over an hr (1: 45 - 3) & I started to wonder, do these employees choose who they let inside in terms of two people coming in together? Do these employees make their own rules? Like, what's going on? Is it the privilege that minorities do not have? I'm home typing this review, still wondering, why? I didn't want to questioned the employees so I thought I should just write a review in hopes that I'll be enlightened & bcos it felt really unfair!

I honestly like this Kaiser location bcos when I used to work for a homecare, the employees are always welcoming when I'd bring a client in for an appt but today's visit really threw me off so bad that if I wasn't a decent person, I'd have make a scene at the time I was at this Kaiser.

I hope Kaiser allows non-English speaker to come in w/ a translator because as I've mentioned, translators aren't always available. I asked my mom if a translator was provided & she said no.

I am writing this review simply to address the lack of diversity at this facility. If you are looking for an Afican American doctor you will be disappointed. There are no African American doctors in dermatology, and other departments (this is the last time I checked, not sure if any were added recently). The physical therapist and Obgyn whom are African American women have both transferred to other facilities. I beleive it is important for an institution as large as Kaiser to provide equal access for all. The wealth of knowledge from having a more diverse staff is priceless. Particularly when it comes to skin care and other medical conditions that impact specific communities. I would implore Kaiser to adress the current lack of inclusion at this facility. I wrote to Kaiser about this issue and I was told that of their doctor's were trained to service all patients. This response was a missed opportunity. This is about inclusion, and the advantages of having a diverse backgrounds and how that translates into patient care.

I was at this facility and I can confirm the services at the pick up centre are bad.we had to check in twice and wait for more than an hour pick up the medication after being told that it will take only 10-15 minutes.we would have appreciated if being informed on correct lead time so that one can plan accordingly.

Worst service provided to my grandma!
seen by a OBGYN who did not hesitate to say he wasnt the correct or right obgyn for treating her with her symptoms, was given a second cream with out any cultures taken, and when i asked for them to be done while she was lying he didnt even bother to let her know he was going to shove a speculum.which was taken out of a drawer with no sterilized bag or anything close to it.

Terrible place for medical care. I suffered an injury from work and so my help came from the Occupational Health Dept. My first initial visit with Dr Rose H was not comforting AT ALL. It seems as if she was more worried about staying within the guidelines of what Workers Compensation foresaw as appropriate treatment and healing time for the nature of my injuries instead of listening to me and understanding the level of pain I was experiencing at that moment and time. She also made point to threaten my with disclosing other information that was in my file and not pertaining to the areas of my visit. I complained and askeed to see another Dr. With the second Dr, Chinese fellow, first visit was ok and by the second visit he became rude and uncaring to my feelings and level of pain. I truly dislike their services

Horrible experience! If you want a second opinion from another doctor (good luck) they just read the notes from the other doctor and GO by that. You never really get a fair evaluation. That's the problem with kaiser physiciatry, you really don't get that second opinion that you would like for instance blue shoeld

One of facilities in East Bay. They are also located in Oakland, San Leandro, Hayward, Union City and Fremont along I-880 corridor. Members need to know which appointment at which facilities. I got to the wrong one once and spent extra 30 min.on the road and a nagging from my wife.
Services are always nice and efficient.
