Evenings get busy outside which is nice too. The frickles are the best get double.

Place is very tight. Looks like a full bar but it's only beer and wine. Folks working here weren't very friendly but whatever.

The brisket sandwich was delicious and the onion rings were were perfectly fried; nice and crispy. The staff was friendly and helpful

Ordered BBQ to go on Christmas. Literally didn’t get any bbq sauce for four plates of food? Of course their suggestion is to drive all the way back to pick some up. Merry Christmas.

Top Gun fan or not, definitely worth a visit. Great food and location and reasonable prices, but probably not the best option if you're vegetarian.

Small indoor dining area and large outdoor dining area - chose indoor seating, table in the corner by the piano. Quick service, food was tasty but not outstanding, just average. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich with slaw on it and mac & cheese as my side. My friend ordered the pulled pork with slaw and fries. I liked the slaw which is vinegar based, not mayonnaise based. We also ordered a side of onion rings which were the biggest disappointment of the meal as they are not homemade, but rather the frozen pre-packaged onion rings - wouldn’t recommend the onion rings! Went to see the Top Gun memorabilia, just thought it would be a better dining experience food wise.

I make it a point to stop by this place once a year. The staff is always amazing and helpful. The fried pickles are a must! I had never eaten inside until this past trip and it is filled with memorabilia. So much to look at. Oh, and it was also featured in Top Gun.

We stopped for some barbecue because we could smell it while walking by. I ordered their baby back ribs and my husband had their pulled pork. My ribs were so fatty that there was very little actual meat on them - very disappointed by that. The ribs were so large, they definitely weren't baby backs. I asked the waitress about that and she simply said that was all they had to offer. I really think I should have been told that when I ordered so I had an opportunity to order something else. My husband's pulled pork was good but a little on the dry side.

Delicious BBQ. Get some ribs, sides and a cold beer. Don't forget desert. Peach cobbler was delicious and plenty big enough to share. We ate outside. Watched some football and checked out the Top Gun memorabilia before we left. Great day!

A nice place with good bears and food. Staff is friendly and willing to explain for the millionth time where things were when the scenes of Top Gun were filmed- nice!

This place is definitely for the nostalgia but it IS a cool location. There is no bar technically - just beer and wine. Also, a pretty limited menu and not real gluten friendly. Still recommend regardless. Get some pictures and enjoy the ambience but don't expect a whole lot from the food.

The restaurant / bar where a scene from Top Gun was filmed. The meat was great. However, the side dishes were not freshly made.

Food was NOT GOOD. Brisket was dry and the onion rings were the extruded kind you get at the Food for Less or similar cut rate market. If the goal was to deliver a sub-mediocre meal in a restaurant full of tacky B-movie memorabilia, then Mission Accomplished! The FOOD POISONING and missing work for two days was an added bonus.

I ordered the Pulled Pork plate with a side of Rings and Mac-n-Cheese, as well as fried pickles.
The pulled pork was served with bread slices and BBQ on the side (diy) - very tender and tasty!
Rings were crisp - intact slices of onion, battered and fried, in my experience.
No sauce, but I didn't ask for any. No complaints.
Mac-n-Cheese was good, too! A hint of jalapeño. No additional seasoning needed.
I ordered the fried pickles bc SO many places have spears, but I prefer slices. Was not disappointed- breading was good and crispy. Served with a side of sauce which also has a jalapeño kick.
Ordered to-go, but would have enjoyed their outdoor seating if I didn't have to get back to work.
Would eat here again.

BBQ was delicious. Patio seating was nice. Waitress was very friendly, helpful, and pleasant to look at.

Worst barbecue ever! Bartender has the personality of a rock! What a dump! Chili was beyond awful! Go get a slim Jim you'll be so much happier! And to the people that said this place is good I feel bad for you that you've never had good bbq!

I honestly think it remains open because there are enough Top Gun visitor fans who want to see it. Server was nice, but the food was not really that good.

I ordered the slab of Ribs. Their Ribs are a dry rub and you get some sauce on the side. I like being able to taste the meat and not having it swimming in sauce.

Service is really good. This seems like a great place to watch football, especially if you're a Chiefs fan. The decor is really cool too.

Fantastic! Absolutely worth the stop! The atmosphere is that of a small town "Mom & Pop" style bar. Great Top Gun memorabilia & the bartender had a great story of the filming of the movie scenes there. The staff was very friendly & full of knowledge as well! It's a FOR SURE stop for a cold one!

Great KC Themed bar, as a KC person, the BBQ wasn't quite "Kansas City" to me. It is probably difficult to get the same quality of meats on the coast. Great place to watch any Kansas City or (Kansas college) sports team play, especially The Chiefs! Too Fun theme was also cool. Service was fast and friendly, would go again when I'm in town if there is a game on!
