Kazuya Japanese Restaurant, Moorpark CA

The restaurant was very clean and the staff was very nice and attentive. Our waitress, Chloe, was very helpful and super nice. Made our lunch pleasant. Highly recommend!

Had a very poor experience here. The menu looked great and the food was good but the service was terrible. We had to ask 3 times for our drink order, and food order took an excessive amount of time and this was on a Monday night at 530pm. Other big negative was the place had a bad smell, like sewer smell, not appetizing.

My dining experience at Kazuya was truly exceptional. From the moment me and friend entered the staff and our waiter was welcoming and friendly. He took time to explain the menu and the happy hour menu which was an added bonus. We had their crispy rice spicy tuna for appetizer, Moorpark roll, Kazuya roll and yellopeno roll. All of them were delicious and fresh. It's great to have a local sushi restaurant with this quality instead of having to go to 40 mins to LA. Can't wait to come back again

Tried this place for the first time for lunch picked up my sushi, very disappointed very low quality and had very little flavor will not be going back questionable freshness

I have been there 3 times and I order their Ramen with pork broth.delicious! I never fail in getting the garlic edemame.awesome! I tried a few of their rolls and they didn't disappoint. Their service is good and yhe staff is friendly. It's a hidden gem in a strip mall next to a Shell gas station. It's good and comfortable. The prices are reasonable.

Based on previous reviews, I have to believe we had an off experience at Kazuya. We showed up soon after they opened, and couldn’t ignore the smell of sewage as we sat down for lunch (we almost walked right back out). It’s quite possible this was a unique situation and possibly one beyond their control. Unfortunately, the food was average at best and the quality and freshness of fish was a bit questionable. We love going out for great sushi, and sadly this just wasn’t it for us.

California sushi wasn’t fresh as we expected, my husband did not like it so much. Service is really good!

Just a fantastic family sushi restaurant. Chefs are great and super friendly. Service is outstanding. Servers are very attentive and friendly. They actually make an effort to engage with you. The nigiri is fresh; the baked rolls are balanced and delicious. Can’t really have a bad time here. Rolls we’ve tried in order of greatest to least preference (they’re all good) :

I eat here all the time and it’s AMAZING! Best place around no doubt about that. Service is just as great as the food! The server Chloe is awesome and I would recommend this place to everyone!

Everything was great! We had a big party and the restaurant staff were very accommodating.

Great experience from start to finish here. We had a first timer to sushi with us so we ordered a lot of different things for dinner. Our first timer enjoyed the shrimp tempura roll, dragon roll, and the seared albacore with crispy onions most. Of all the rolls everyone agreed on enjoying the dragon roll. My favorites included the halibut and Japanese scallops sushi nigiri. The flavor of the red snapper sushi was delicious as well. The yellowtail with jalapenos carpaccio was also a favorite for most of the table.

Great place! Loved the food and the service was excellent. Very clean inside and nice atmosphere. I would reccomend this place for sure and look foward to coming again!

Unfortunately this establishment was a huge disappointment for me and my wife, the only thing that comes to mind after eating here is that the quality of sushi and rice & chicken were all awful. I’m going to go back for a second chance I’ll be back to edit this review

Great sushi! We always go for the salmon sushi and my favorite carpacio yellowtail jalapeño absolutely delicious. Sometimes they’re understaffed and it takes a bit longer, but worth the wait, and there always very courteous and nice!
