Kendall-Frost Mission Bay Marsh Reserve reviews
6A wonderful and important location for not only researchers and students but also the larger community. Come and check out "Love Your Wetlands Day" if you haven't had a chance yet!
Beautiful and pristine marsh habitat and wildlife refuge. Flaura and fauna specialized for survival in these brackish waters where freshwater and seawater meet. Affected by tides and salt content in the water this unique biological sanctuary is home to many species who specifically only can survive and thrive here. Excellent for any nature enthusiasts
Every first And third Saturday marsh tour and clean up lead by park ranchers. Free education and community activities
So beautiful in the morning when the water is still and the sun is rising. A great place to watch Sea World fireworks. Also they are helping to fight climate change by preserving some nature in the city, if only that RV park next to it would do their part.
Looks like they have a cool plan to replace the 55 year old single wide that houses the staff.
NOTE: I do not believe the marsh is open right now. At least when I went recently on October 9th, it was Closed. Maybe they changed the hours or the location of where to enter from, but if so it was not clearly labeled.
Review: I have been here in the past and had a great experience up close with larger birds like Great Egrets and Purple Herons. I cannot confirm on the diversity of smaller birds as I came later in the morning.
Worth the visit (if they're open).
