Khorasan Mediterranean Cuisine, San Diego CA

My wife found this place because she really wanted to try uyghur food again. She had something similar in Northern China when she was in college. The food at this restaurant took her back to that trip. Uyghur food is completely halal food which to me means high quality but don't come here looking for pork. The lamb kabob was amazing and we cleaned that out really quickly with some naan bread that came with the dish. A lot of the dishes we bought did have some spice in them so if you don't like anything with a kick I wouldn't recommend most of the dishes, but there are some dishes for those where spice is not there jam. We got to try Doogh for the first time (yogurt based drink) and it was amazing. The server recommended the mint version and I'm so glad she did. It also comes plain or pomegranate. After leaving the restaurant I immediately looked up how to make that at home because I wanted it again. It really counterbalanced the spiciness of the dishes by cooling my taste buds off with this refreshing yogurt drink. The server was so polite and so friendly. One of the best servers I've had since COVID. She was really nice to our son and even gave us a complimentary dish for coming to the restaurant. I gave her the biggest tip I've given since COVID to any server. The decor is simple and cute then matches the theme to the place. Definitely bring your compact car when you go to this restaurant because the parking is really tight but plentiful. I will definitely go back again soon! Got to get my hands on more of that doogh!

This is a hidden gem: must try! Service and food were outstanding. I’m from Eastern Europe, and trying lagman, manti and plov brought about all kinds of memories. But the best was the kebab! I had both chicken and lamb- both well seasoned and tender

Tried this new spot and wow SOO GOOD! The best Afghan food. Taste just like my grandmas cooking. Will definitely be my bi-weekly spot to dine. Amazing for lunch and or dinner:)

Fresh Persian food and not microwaved. I had Gheimeh and also Gormeh Sabzi hopefully Fesenjoon soon

I highly recommend their family package it’s huge and delicious. We were 3 but it was a lot not just for 3 persons 4 or 5 persons is enough food.

Very clean, couldn’t find a speck of dust anywhere. Very good menu with lots of vegan options and they are very kind and patient. Also take Apple Pay!

What a great experience! So friendly, Ben was very helpful, explained options for us to share in detail. Just like the complex, subtle flavors of the delicious food, the decor is simple but evocative of the culture. Very clean and bright.

We ordered the lamb and chicken kabobs. The meat was very well seasoned, however for the price point, there was not much meat in the dish itself; it was mostly rice and it was dry. It also came with a salad which was lettuce, carrots and some cucumbers. The lettuce was really wilted, like it seemed pretty old and they were just trying to get rid of it. Overall, would not order food from there again.

Khorasan is a must-try in San Diego. Their food is amazing in every way: delicious, unique, and flavorful. I've been coming here frequently over the past few months and I still haven't gone through their diverse selection of appetizers and dishes. My favorite entrees so far are the Mantu and the Spicy Fried Noodles.

Amazing Mediterranean food, great customer service and very clean, highly recommended if you want to taste real Afghan and Iranian food. Can’t wait to visit this place again.

Worst Persian food I have ever had. I was excited to try it. Sadly wouldn’t go there again. Chicken was 1/2 raw inside. I think they might be over there heads and not set up to function well.

Authentic food. We ordered the noodle dish and they were great. The milk tea pot was also delicious.

Had the uyghur laghman noodles. Tangy and tasty! Reminds me of a sauce i had in Thailand.

If you're tired of waiting for birria at Mike Red Tacos, head next door for an international menu that you probably havent had before.

They also have classics like baklava.

Samsa was frash. It was over heated in the microwave before it was served to us. It end up being chewy instead crispy. 0

We came for the plov and we found out that, it's cooked once a week like other dishes.
Basically most dishes are not cooked fresh daily. It's reheated and served.
Personally i don't like this approach.
The place is clean and the staff are nice and friendly. I just wish they cook and serve food fresh daily.
