Kinship Yoga reviews
21I rarely review things, but I really felt like I had to review Kinship! I just recently moved back to LA and one thing I was worried about was finding a yoga studio that was a right fit for me. Someone recommended Kinship and I’m SO HAPPY I listened. This is my favorite yoga studio ever and I can’t express how grateful I am to practice here. All the teachers are incredible and the practice itself is challenging (in a great way). The teachers always remind you that you practice at your own pace. The hot room is HOT and I love every moment of it. I also feel like the teachers have a way of balancing the spiritual and physical aspects of the practice - which can sometimes be hard to find in the hot yoga world. Thank you to everyone at this school for making it the special gem that it is!
The studio has such a great vibe! The main room is gorgeous with lots of natural light, hardwood floors and beamed ceiling.
The studio is great! Super clean, the employees are all super friendly and attentive. The yoga is super fast and challenging but it's fun and different than any yoga I've done before. They proved water, towels and a yoga mat. It is super welcoming and I always feel refreshed after class!
Ritual is unlike any yoga experience I have had. The first few classes were a sweat sesh! Higher intensity moves, great music, and a heated studio. The last class I took was a "restore" class and focused more on meditation and breathing which was most definitely needed after a long week. They always have a great message to start and end each class, and you walked out feeling rejuvenated and cleansed. The people here are welcoming and friendly and the studio is clean and relaxing.
After my car accident, it has been really scary for me think about working out again especially when i was experiencing awful pain all over my legs and lower back.
Great inclusive space. I love all the teachers as they each have their own styles. Love that Aracelli teaches Spanish/bilingual classes donation based for the community. Stella’s class is my favorite for relaxation while Skyler’s is my favorite for a more high intensity workout with still the aspect of it being a spiritual practice.
Kinship Yoga is my favorite yoga studio in the city! I would uber all the way from Los Angeles, CA for the class. Music is always great and this is the only studio that even has an assistant in addition to the instructor for adjustments. It's more cardio than other Kinship Yoga studios, which I like personally but you should know coming into it. My favorite part is the eucalyptus towel and mini massage at the end!
I feel very conflicted about this studio, I have loved it for years but it’s very clear that the owner does not take the pandemic seriously. It’s one thing to be personally anti-vax but another to dismiss all safety precautions at your very public business, not to mention ignoring local laws. The rooms are at full capacity, aka crowded, with no air filters or ventilation, and there are very few outdoor classes available despite their nice outdoor space. No mask or vaccine requirements. I have dwindled my attendance down from almost daily to seldomly, because I don’t feel cared for there anymore. It’s pretty sad, because I love the space and the teachers.
Bought a $200 class pass just before covid shut things down and ended up moving cities before they reopened. Wouldn’t refund even part of my pass, even after waiting 18 months to let them get back on their feet. Was pretty rude about it too—don’t think I was making that crazy a request!
No proof of vaccine. No masks. No distancing/limited capacity (despite what they advertise). This should be widely known to anyone thinking of attending a class here
I only came to ask a question about the classes, the girl was just staring at me. She waited to open the door just staring. She let me in but next thing you know the dad came answered my question but I got the same problem with him about staring. I had a bad experience just FOR A SIMPLE QUESTION! 65 dollars for beginners but others get a different price, Kinship needs improvement
Wow, harry uses beautiful words.it felt transformative, my heart is happy.i kept saying to myself "let it in, let it be, let it out"
Really lovely teachers + classes. As a South Indian, I’m quite picky about the yoga studios I go to and generally don’t love the hot yoga classes. The temp is just right here and most teachers take their time to explain poses and respect the practice and culture. I do wish they required vaccination cards as masks aren’t required in the studio.
I love this yoga practice! I suffer from anxiety and the restorative yoga class helps so much. The convenience of yoga at home is ideal for me and I still getting to connect with other people who have similar interests. Most of all, Dee is amazing! She has such a calming voice and really walks you through the steps and what your body should be doing. I never really understood the movements of yoga until participating in Yoga Kinship classes. Thank you, Dee!
I’ve been attending classes at Kinship since July 2015. On February 10th, 2020, I spent $450 of my hard-earned dollars on a 6-month unlimited membership.
I was so excited to practice with my favorite teachers - Alex, Veronica, and Bree are beyond incredible and have helped me develop my practice into a central part of my well-being, and for that I am forever grateful. As we all know, one month after I spent $450 on a prepaid 6-month membership, the world shut down.
This review doesn’t pertain to the space or the teachers, but rather what happened when I recently reached out to the studio.
I emailed Kinship to ask if they would offer me ANY sort of discount, given that I spent $450 for 6 months of yoga, and one month in, we were all unable to leave our homes. I wasn’t asking for 6 more months, not even asking for a free month — to be honest, I would’ve been happy with 50% off my first month back — or maybe a few classes for “free” since spending $450 and receiving ONE month of class before Covid.
I was completely ignored. I then followed up — nada. Not a peep from the studio I’ve spent THOUSANDS of dollars at, not to mention the 6 friends I’ve brought to the studio (all of whom signed up for AT LEAST one month unlimited). I’m honestly repulsed by the way this was handled.
Look, these are hard times. Many business have fallen on some tough situations since the pandemic — but guess what? SO HAVE WE. Isn’t Kinship supposed to be about community? I don’t think so.
Think long and hard before giving this place your money. I know I never will again.
Kinship it's a amazing sacred place, teachers are awesome and different stile, front desk staff make you feel welcomed and the assistance is great, you can experience your own experience supported with the beautiful community
Came here for the first time since my friend and I agreed we'd try out a hot yoga spot in the city. So we decided on checking this site out and sure did it exceed my expectations.
I've been coming to this location for over 6 months and love that I have not heard one individual body shame another individual, hence it is a place were I can release an be myself. **THIS REVIEW HAS AN UPDATE
Took a Kinship Yoga flow class with matt my very first class ever.omg he is the bomb.the whole place is the bomb i'm sore as hell but im going back.this is my home a way from hom.
Love this hot Kinship Yoga. I'm not usually a fan of hot yoga, and am more of a traditionalist. However, the studio is well ventilated even though hot. The teachers are quality and I really like when they cue alignment and use sanskrit.the Early am classes are the best since I can get my yoga in before work.
